Cranberry Lake Campground Introduce
Looking for the perfect "camping near me" experience? Cranberry Lake Campground, located at 230 Lone Pine Rd in Cranberry Lake, New York, offers a promising retreat into nature. Situated in a picturesque setting, this campground provides a base for exploring the natural beauty of the region and enjoying a variety of outdoor activities. For local users seeking a nearby escape, Cranberry Lake Campground presents an accessible option for a refreshing outdoor adventure.
Based on available information, the environment surrounding Cranberry Lake Campground is a significant draw. One visitor specifically mentioned that "Camping was fantastic & the leaf change was perfect," highlighting the scenic beauty of the area, particularly during the fall foliage season. This suggests that the campground is located in a region known for its natural splendor, offering campers the opportunity to immerse themselves in a visually appealing environment. The mention of "leaf change" indicates a setting with abundant trees, likely providing shade and a sense of being surrounded by nature.
One of the key features of Cranberry Lake Campground, as noted by a satisfied camper, is that it is "Very well kept" and the "sites are well maintained." This is a crucial aspect for any campground, as it speaks to the care and attention given to the facilities and grounds, ensuring a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for visitors. Well-maintained campsites contribute to a positive camping atmosphere and can enhance the overall satisfaction of campers.
Adding to the appeal of the campground is the presence of a "nice paved side walk with railings on each side that goes down to a large dock out over the water." This feature provides easy and safe access to the waterfront, allowing all visitors to readily enjoy the views and engage in water-related activities. The dock is described as "large," suggesting ample space for multiple people to enjoy the area simultaneously. The inclusion of railings on the paved walkway indicates attention to safety and accessibility for a wider range of visitors.
The dock itself offers opportunities for various activities, most notably "fishing!" As mentioned in a review, the dock allows "Anyone can easily go out on the dock and enjoy the views or fishing!" This makes Cranberry Lake Campground an attractive option for those who enjoy angling or simply appreciate being near the water. The availability of a large dock enhances the waterfront experience and provides a focal point for relaxation and recreation.
To further facilitate enjoyment of the scenic views from the dock, the campground provides at least "one wooden bench." While one visitor mentioned bringing their own folding chairs, the presence of a permanent bench suggests that the campground aims to provide some seating for visitors to relax and take in the surroundings. This thoughtful addition enhances the usability of the dock area and encourages visitors to spend time by the water.
While the positive aspects of the campground environment and facilities are evident from the reviews, one visitor did mention a less than ideal experience with the gate staff upon arrival. They noted that the staff who were "supposed to be there until 9" were absent at 5 PM on the first day. The following day, during check-in, the staff were described as not wearing "park uniforms or park wear" and were "weren't particularly friendly." This feedback suggests a potential inconsistency in staffing and customer service, which prospective visitors might want to be aware of.
Despite this comment regarding the gate staff, the overall sentiment towards the campground itself, particularly the maintenance of the sites and the quality of the waterfront access, is positive. The well-kept nature of the campground and the accessibility to Cranberry Lake via the paved walkway and large dock are significant advantages for those seeking a comfortable and scenic camping experience.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Cranberry Lake Campground offers a location in a naturally beautiful area of New York, with the added benefit of direct access to Cranberry Lake. The well-maintained campsites suggest a degree of care in providing a pleasant environment for campers. The paved walkway and dock are notable features that enhance the accessibility and enjoyment of the waterfront, catering to individuals of varying mobility levels and interests, including fishing enthusiasts and those who simply wish to admire the lake views.

Oct 29, 2024 · kel carlescoGreat campground! Very well kept. The sites are well maintained. There is also a nice paved side walk with railings on each side that goes down to a large dock out over the water. Anyone can easily go out on the dock and enjoy the views or fishing! There is one wooden bench, and we brought our folding chairs.
Jul 18, 2024 · Brenda McDonaldWe were camping for our anniversary in 2021. This is Sophia our chiweenie. She loves to ride in the canoe. The camp grounds are beautiful. Well cared for. Bathrooms and shower rooms were clean.
Sep 17, 2024 · Christie AndrzejewskiSites were beautiful. Even though it rained 2 out of the 3 days we were there…had the BEST sleep in the great outdoors. Could hear wolves & our little pittie started howling back in her sleep 🤣. Definitely adding Cranberry to our annual NY hiking destinations.
Jul 21, 2024 · Carolyn CrowOur site was great. Neighboring campers, not so much. Bathrooms and showers are dated but clean. Nice beach. No lifeguard, swim at your own risk.
