Dairy Creek Camp West Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" that offers a comfortable and serene environment, particularly if you prefer a quieter camping experience or are an RV enthusiast? Dairy Creek Camp West, located in Buxton, OR 97109, USA, presents an appealing option. Based on customer reviews, this specific loop within a larger Dairy Creek Park is highly regarded for its peaceful atmosphere, well-maintained facilities, and natural surroundings, making it an excellent choice for those seeking tranquility in the Oregon outdoors.
The environment of Dairy Creek Camp West is described as "very comfortable" and particularly favored by those seeking peace and quiet. Unlike the East loop of the park, which reportedly features a playground and open space attracting families with children, the West loop is characterized by a more mature and tranquil ambiance, often preferred by "older folks and those of us who prefer peace and quiet." The center of the West loop is wooded, with a trail winding through it, offering opportunities for leisurely walks and immersion in nature. The campsites themselves are thoughtfully laid out; most are described as "perfect" and are angled to provide campers with views of the surrounding trees rather than other campsites, enhancing the sense of privacy and connection with nature.
Dairy Creek Camp West offers a comprehensive range of services and amenities designed for a comfortable camping experience, especially for RVers. Each RV site is equipped with its own water, electric, and sewer hookups, providing the convenience and functionality needed for a seamless stay. Additionally, each site features a separate dishwater receptacle, demonstrating attention to detail and environmental consideration. For those who enjoy campfires and outdoor cooking, each site also includes a fire ring and a picnic table, essential elements for a traditional camping experience. The campground also prides itself on being handicap accessible, ensuring that individuals with mobility challenges can comfortably enjoy the facilities.
One of the standout features of the West loop at Dairy Creek Camp is the thoughtful design of the campsites. As mentioned, the angled positioning of the sites maximizes privacy and views of the surrounding trees. Furthermore, many campers prefer sites located on the outside of the loop, as these tend to offer more space. A particularly enchanting aspect highlighted by a reviewer is the frequent presence of deer visitors in the mornings and evenings at sites 47-53 on the outside of the loop. This provides a unique opportunity for wildlife viewing directly from your campsite, adding a touch of magic to the camping experience. The sites are also reported to be level, raked, and clean, with a nice lawn area for each, contributing to the overall comfort and appeal of the campground.
Beyond the individual campsite amenities and the peaceful environment, Dairy Creek Camp West offers additional facilities to enhance your stay. The presence of showers and restrooms ensures basic hygiene and comfort for all campers. The trails within the park, including the one running through the wooded center of the West loop, provide opportunities for walking, stretching your legs, and further exploring the natural surroundings. While the reviews focus primarily on the West loop, the mention of an East loop with a playground suggests that the broader Dairy Creek Park might offer additional family-friendly amenities, though these are not the focus of the West loop's appeal.
The friendly and helpful nature of the campground hosts is also consistently praised in the reviews. Positive interactions with hosts can significantly enhance the overall camping experience, providing a sense of welcome and support during your stay. Their attentiveness likely contributes to the well-maintained and clean condition of the campsites and facilities.
While specific promotional information or discounts are not mentioned in the provided reviews, the emphasis on the comfortable environment, full hookups, and peaceful atmosphere of the West loop serves as its own form of promotion for a specific type of camper. The repeated praise for the tranquility and the design of the campsites suggests that those prioritizing a quiet and comfortable RV camping experience in a natural setting will find significant value in choosing Dairy Creek Camp West.
For local users searching for "camping near me" that offers a serene escape, especially those with RVs or those who prefer a quieter camping experience without the bustle often associated with family-oriented campgrounds, Dairy Creek Camp West stands out as a highly recommended option in the Buxton, Oregon area. The combination of full hookup RV sites, well-maintained facilities, the wooded central trail, and the potential for wildlife viewing creates a compelling offer. The preference of "older folks and those of us who prefer peace and quiet" highlights the specific niche that this loop caters to, ensuring a more predictable and enjoyable environment for those seeking tranquility.
In conclusion, Dairy Creek Camp West offers a comfortable, clean, and peaceful camping experience in Buxton, Oregon. Its full RV hookups, handicap accessibility, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site provide essential amenities. The thoughtful design of the campsites, angled for privacy and views, along with the wooded central trail and the possibility of deer visitors, enhances the natural appeal. The positive feedback regarding the friendly hosts further contributes to its reputation as a well-loved park, particularly the West loop. For local campers prioritizing a quiet and comfortable RV getaway in a natural setting, Dairy Creek Camp West is a highly recommended destination within the "camping near me" category.

Very comfortable environment with trails, showers, and restrooms. Each RV site has its own water, electric, and sewer. With separate dish water receptacle. Fire ring and picnic table. Handicap accessible.
Apr 14, 2025 · janich yaceczkoWe love this park and we love the West camping loop. The East loop has a playground and open space, so families with kids tend to camp there, and the West loop is for older folks and those of us who prefer peace and quiet. The center of the West loop is wooded with a trail running through it and almost every campsite is perfect. We always choose a site facing the outside of the loop for more room and all sites are angled so you're facing more trees than campers. Sites 47-53 on the outside of the loop often come with deer visitors in the mornings and evenings! Sites are level, raked and clean with a nice lawn area for each. Hosts are friendly. Love this park!
Apr 12, 2024 · k gerelPeaceful and quiet area close in to the Portland metropolitan area. The lower section has plenty of trees for shade during the hot summer months in the upper section has wide open areas with less shade for the spring and late summer or early fall areas when it's a little bit cooler.
Sep 26, 2024 · Kim CliffordDairy Creek Camp West is the larger of the 2 camping areas at LL Stub Stewart State Park. The camp west area has larger camp sites that are spaced further apart surrounded with a larger and denser wooded area. The area has access to a lot of hiking and biking trails as well as the famous Banks - Vernonia trail which is a wide paved trail through the coast range. The camp west area also has a large tent area with a restroom area and several water pumps for fresh water.
Aug 28, 2023 · Don Lowe3 stars for the walk-in tent sites.Dairy Creek Camp West has over 40 full-hookup sites, 12 walk-in tent sites, flush toilets, hot showers, and firewood / ice for sale. It's open year round.Tents may be put up in each site however metal tent stakes must be used. The tent pad area is packed gravel and plastic stakes will not work. For the walk-in tent sites, expect to carry the camping equipments from the parking lots to the dedicated tent pad area.2 unisex restrooms are shared with all 12 walk-in tent sites. Some sites are close to the toilets. The flush and hand dryers noise could be heard easily, at a few sites. The toliets were all smelly in Aug 2022.Few mins walk to the shower facilities. There is no proper sink for washing foods / kitchenware. However there are fresh water supply and drains for sink waste disposal. One central garbage station shared with Camp East.Limited privacy between campsites.Dog is allowed. There are open public areas (grass field) for campers to watch the sky and stars in the nights.
