If you're searching for "camping near me," particularly for group camping in the Pikeville, Tennessee area, Eli Field, located in Pikeville, TN 37367, appears to be a noteworthy option based on available customer reviews. While specific contact information isn't provided, the descriptions offer valuable insights into its environment, services, and features, especially for those planning group outings.
The environment of Eli Field is described as being "away from the main area," which suggests a quieter and more secluded setting, ideal for groups looking for a more private experience. It is "surrounded by woods," indicating a natural and potentially scenic backdrop with shade and a sense of being immersed in nature. One of the key environmental features mentioned is a "big field" with "room for group games /roaming." However, it's noted that "this area is a little uneven so it can be a little hazardous," which is important to consider for activities in the open field. The actual tent sites are described as "fairly flat," making them suitable for setting up camp. Overall, the environment seems geared towards group activities in a relatively quiet, wooded setting with a large open field.
In terms of services, Eli Field offers several amenities that cater to group camping. Each tent site features "water spickets," providing convenient access to water. There are also "nice fire rings" for campfires and "separate grill stations" for cooking. For communal use, there is a "pavillion at one end - near site 1," which could serve as a gathering space or shelter. Additionally, the campground provides "a flush toilet house down near site 4," which is a notable convenience. However, it's important to note that the reviews explicitly mention "no showers or individual electric at the sites." Despite these limitations, the available services seem well-suited for group camping, focusing on essential needs like water, cooking, and sanitation. The reviews also indicate that "the sites & bathrooms are clean," which is a significant positive aspect of the services provided.
The features of Eli Field are particularly geared towards accommodating groups. The availability of a large, albeit uneven, field for games and roaming is a significant feature for group activities. The flat tent sites with individual water spickets, fire rings, and grill stations provide a comfortable and functional camping setup for multiple tents. The presence of a pavilion offers a central meeting point or covered area. The flush toilet house, while not showers, is a more convenient option than primitive toilets. The campground's location "away from the main area" ensures a quieter experience for groups. While individual electric hookups are not available, the focus seems to be on a more communal and nature-oriented group camping experience. The recurring mention of it being suitable for group camping over many years highlights this as a key feature. The "big field" also suggests the possibility of accommodating larger events or gatherings, as indicated by one reviewer who went there for a "race." To get a comprehensive understanding of all features, including the number of available group sites and the capacity of the pavilion, further inquiry might be needed through local parks and recreation resources or other camping information platforms.

Eli Field Reviews
We've been group camping at Eli Field for years. It's away from the main area so it's quiet ( sans the other groups) surrounded by woods and there is room for group games /roaming ( this area is a little uneven so it can be a little hazardous ). Sites where the tents go is fairly flat and feature water spickets, nice fire rings and separate grill stations. Additionally, there is a pavillion at one end -near site 1 and a flush toilet house down near site 4. No showers or individual electric at the sites. Overall, the sites & bathrooms are clean and good for groups that may need a little running area.
