The reviews highlight a serene environment and a helpful owner, while also noting that the campground's layout might be less ideal for very long trailers due to narrow one-way roads and a predominantly seasonal community.
Environment:
The environment of Fox Hill Camping Area is characterized by "rolling hills covered with spectacular trees," suggesting a picturesque and possibly shaded setting. One reviewer who stayed in site #35 (a tent site) noted that nothing felt crammed in, implying spaciousness in at least some areas of the campground. The overall impression is one of a natural and tranquil landscape.
The campground is also described as "peaceful," reinforcing the idea of a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, which could be particularly appealing to those looking to escape more crowded or activity-filled campgrounds.
Services:
Based on the customer feedback, the services at Fox Hill Camping Area include:
- Helpful Owner: One reviewer recounted a positive experience where the owner promptly assisted with an electrical issue, describing him as "very nice." This suggests a responsive and caring management.
- Camp Store ("capstone"): The presence of a "nice and well stocked" camp store indicates that basic camping supplies and perhaps other items are available on-site.
- Pet-Friendly: The campground is explicitly mentioned as "pet-friendly," making it a suitable option for campers traveling with animals.
It's also implied that electrical hook-ups are available at some sites, given the mention of an electrical issue. The reviewer in site #35, who was tent camping, also had access to electricity.
One reviewer noted that the campground is "mostly seasonal campers," which might influence the overall feel for newcomers, potentially making it feel less tailored to transient guests.

- Quiet and Relaxing Atmosphere: Ideal for those seeking a peaceful getaway.
- Spacious Sites: At least some sites are described as spacious and not crammed together.

A potential drawback mentioned is the layout of the roads: "Narrow one-way roads with no directional signs" which could make navigating the campground with longer trailers more challenging.
The strong presence of seasonal campers could be seen as both a feature (a stable, friendly community, as mentioned by one reviewer) and a potential drawback for newcomers who might feel like they are entering an established community not primarily set up for short-term stays.

Fox Hill Camping Area Reviews
I had a wonderful 4 days...quiet and relaxing. It's mostly seasonal campers, but all polite and friendly. I rented #35 and had a tent. Nothing is crammed in and the rolling hills are covered with spectacular trees. I had an electrical issue and the owner came to my rescue, very nice man! The capstone was nice and well stocked.
Jul 27, 2024 · James P. LambertClean, pet-friendly camping. Mostly seasonals so it's not tailored to suit newcomers. Narrow one-way roads with no directional signs make it harder for longer trailers but it's very peaceful.
Jul 04, 2024 · Dawn Van VorstI’ve camped here many years. Started as a weekender then transitioned to seasonal. So many wonderful cherished memories and friendships I still hold dear. Life changed course for me, so I’m no longer a camper there, but do still visit from time to time. It’s extremely peaceful. If you are family camping and are looking for a place for your children to get back to nature and don’t expect an adult or staff to hold their hand every minute with an organized activity, THIS IS YOUR PLACE! If you want your children to REALLY CAMP and not be distracted with activities and to make life long friendships, THIS IS THE PLACE. If you have no children, I promise, you will not be infiltrated with brats! The parents who come to this campground are awesome! They know where their children are. The kids are respectful; but let’s be honest- kids are kids, and when one does step out of line, the parents ALWAYS handle it immediately and it’s been my experience it’s followed up with a face to face apology and it’s usually the last time it happens; and it’s RARE! Also pets are welcome! Just gotta have papers and on leash. Owners are stellar (Guy and Patty ❤️ and their entire family). They know EVERYTHING that goes on and keep everyone in check. Side note: you MORE THAN LIKELY at some point may see a bear if you’re lucky!Don’t pass this beautiful destination up! Way too many memories to be missed out on! You won’t be sorry!!
Jul 24, 2023 · Danielle JuchemLooking for a campground. This campground is filled with many termination campers. Spaces are small and tight, narrow roads.
Sep 25, 2024 · Beemer JohnFor seasonal campers, this place is quiet, clean, and friendly. We really like the way the community welcomes newcomers. Sites are roomy and most are shaded.
