Stayed here with my family in April- off season, so that may effect our experience. The staff was kind and helpful and most of the seasonal campers were friendly. We did have an incident with one man who was hanging out behind our camper late night which made me uncomfortable. The campground says its family friendly but I found the amenities for kids lacking. The "kids rec room" had two video games and some TVs. The indoor pool was great, and the outdoor pools looked really nice. The playground closest to us looked brand new and was beautiful, but was definitely geared towards younger kids. The second playground was better for older kids, but didn't have much. I'm sure there are more activities available during the actual camping season.Bathrooms were relatively clean, but smelled strange. The store had a lot of stuff but most of it looked out of date. Also of note, there are no sewer hookups for short term stays but they do offer pump out services for $15.It rained a lot while we were there, there isn't much for kids in the area so we did travel to Manchester to go to the See Science museum, which wasn't far away and was a good option for rainy day kids activities. - Jennifer Walker

Friendly Beaver Campground Introduce

For those searching within the 'camping near me' category, Friendly Beaver Campground, located at 88 Cochran Hill Rd in New Boston, New Hampshire, presents a complex picture based on recent customer reviews. While one off-season visitor in April noted kind and helpful staff (with a caveat about a late-night incident), relatively clean bathrooms (despite a strange smell), and a well-stocked but potentially outdated store, more concerning feedback from another reviewer paints a starkly different scenario, particularly regarding the atmosphere during the regular camping season and the management of the campground.

The environment of Friendly Beaver Campground appears to vary significantly depending on the time of year and potentially the specific area of the campground. The off-season experience was described as having friendly staff and mostly friendly seasonal campers, although an uncomfortable late-night encounter was noted. The presence of an indoor pool and seemingly nice outdoor pools suggests some appealing recreational facilities. A brand-new playground geared towards younger children was also mentioned, along with a second, less impressive playground for older kids. However, the second review paints a picture of a "spring break trailer park vibe" during the regular season, characterized by "drunk debauchery" until late at night, teenagers speeding around in golf carts while intoxicated, and a constant police presence. The pervasive smell of marijuana throughout the campground was also reported. Furthermore, this reviewer described some sites as being occupied full-time with "run down campers and junk strewn about," contributing to a less than ideal aesthetic. This stark contrast between the off-season and regular season descriptions indicates a potentially volatile and unpredictable environment at Friendly Beaver Campground, particularly during peak times.

The services and amenities at Friendly Beaver Campground have also received mixed feedback. The off-season visitor appreciated the indoor pool and the appearance of the outdoor pools. The presence of a "kids rec room" with video games and TVs was noted, although deemed lacking. The store was described as having a lot of items, but with a possibly outdated inventory. It was also explicitly mentioned that there are no sewer hookups for short-term stays, but a $15 pump-out service is offered. The more critical review provides a different perspective on the amenities and services, describing the activities as "sad and lacking" and the pools as "overcrowded." The "security" was reported to be inconsistent, primarily focused on drink cups near the pool while ignoring more significant issues like kids diving on other swimmers. The management, described as "rude ownership," is accused of unprofessional behavior, publicly degrading staff, and playing favorites with seasonal campers. The reviewer also alleges dishonesty and a "good cop, bad cop" dynamic between the two brothers running the campground. The lack of enforcement of rules, particularly regarding noise and intoxicated behavior, is also highlighted as a significant issue. This strongly suggests that while some basic amenities like pools and a store exist, the overall quality of the services and the management's approach may severely impact the camper experience. The lack of sewer hookups for short-term stays is also a notable limitation for RV travelers.

The features of Friendly Beaver Campground, based on the reviews, are somewhat contradictory. The presence of indoor and outdoor pools could be seen as a positive for some, as could the playgrounds (though their suitability for different age groups is debated). The "Tubin' Taxi" service was mentioned in the keywords, but no details about this service were provided in the reviews themselves, indicating a potential discrepancy between advertised features and actual customer experiences discussed. The off-season visitor noted the kindness of some staff and friendly seasonal campers, suggesting a potential for a positive community atmosphere at certain times. However, the more critical review paints a picture of a chaotic environment during peak season, with noise issues, alleged illegal drug use, and a lack of effective rule enforcement. The rude and unprofessional behavior attributed to the ownership, along with the reported mistreatment of staff, could be a significant deterrent for many potential campers. The alleged "spring break trailer park vibe" and the constant police presence suggest an environment that may not be conducive to a relaxing or family-friendly camping experience, despite the campground's claim to be family-friendly. The presence of full-time residents in "run down campers" might also detract from the overall aesthetic and atmosphere for short-term visitors.

Currently, there is no mention of any promotional information or special offers for Friendly Beaver Campground in the provided reviews. The negative experiences, particularly those described in the more critical review, might make potential campers hesitant to seek out promotions for this location. Local users searching for 'camping near me' would be well-advised to weigh the potential for a pleasant off-season stay against the reported issues during the regular camping season. Given the serious allegations of rude ownership, safety concerns (late-night incident, intoxicated individuals, police presence), and a toxic environment, it would be prudent to contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers (+1 603-487-5570 or 603-487-5570) to inquire about the current management practices, rule enforcement, and any measures taken to address the concerns raised in the reviews. It would also be wise to seek out more recent reviews from various platforms to get a broader and more up-to-date understanding of the current state of Friendly Beaver Campground before considering a reservation. Any promotional offers would need to be carefully evaluated in light of the reported negative experiences.

In conclusion, Friendly Beaver Campground in New Boston, New Hampshire, presents a cautionary tale for those searching within the 'camping near me' category. While an off-season visit was described as having some positive aspects like friendly staff and clean bathrooms, a more critical review of the regular season experience paints a concerning picture of rude and unprofessional ownership, a chaotic and potentially unsafe environment with excessive noise and alleged drug use, inconsistent rule enforcement, and limited amenities, particularly for children. The stark contrast between these experiences highlights the importance of considering the timing of a visit and the potential for significant variations in the campground's atmosphere. Local users are strongly encouraged to conduct thorough additional research, including seeking out recent reviews from multiple sources and directly contacting the campground management to address the serious concerns raised, before making a decision to stay at Friendly Beaver Campground. Any potential promotional offers should be weighed against the reported negative aspects of the campground environment and management.
