This lake access is undoubtedly a major draw for those seeking a waterfront camping experience. While the overall natural setting is highly praised, one visitor noted that "the roads in the campground were a bit rough" and that the "tent sites were very sloped but fairly spacious." This suggests that while the individual campsites may offer ample space, some may require extra consideration for leveling tents and navigating within the campground. Despite this, the proximity of restroom access to the tent sites in the T006 and T007 areas was considered "close enough," indicating convenient access to essential facilities.

The positive feedback regarding the camp host suggests a level of service and assistance for campers. However, one potential drawback mentioned by a visitor was that it was "fairly noisy at night with someone chopping wood for a long while and then fireworks went off." This indicates that while the setting is beautiful, noise levels at night might be a consideration for light sleepers, although this may not be a consistent issue.
The features of Garfield Bay Campground center around its natural beauty and the positive interactions with the staff. The stone beach offers a unique and appealing feature for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the lake views without the typical crowds associated with sandy beaches. The fact that visitors were compelled to extend their stay due to the positive experience speaks volumes about the overall appeal of the campground. Garfield Bay Campground Reviews
Beautiful area, the roads in the campground were a bit rough and the tent sites were very sloped but fairly spacious, we camped in T006 and T007. Restroom access was close enough. It was fairly noisy at night with someone chopping wood for a long while and then fireworks went off. The stone beach was beautiful, pretty clean, not crowded, and a nice place to cool off and enjoy the view.
Jun 24, 2024 · Jenny RobertsThis campgrounds and the camp host were both so wonderful. We extended our stay because it was such a great experience. Will definitely stay here again.
Jul 28, 2024 · Annette BrownI can honestly say that this bay has become a favorite place. The peace here is tangible and refreshing to the spirit. We sat at the beach for hours, kayaked, floated, played with our dog, and soaked in the tranquility and views. We didn't stay at the campground, but in my BIL and SIL retirement home right above this rocky beach. This community just feels old school, welcoming, and on a slow roll, which we loved. Internet and cell service is spotty which kept us unplugged most of the time. I just can't say enough about this hidden wonder.
Jul 16, 2018 · Nikkoly StanleySome spots are smaller, BUT we have been here almost all summer and have been LOVING it! Spots 9 and 10 are VERY close to the host (just fyi). 13 and 16 are large with a lot of privacy, 16 beats it with the view of the lake though. 15 is pretty good if no one is in 13. 28 is pretty little but thats okay.Great place to be and I'm so thankful it is there. Close to the boat launch, you could walk to it but driving may be preferable.
Jul 16, 2021 · Izzy HendricksonI went camping with some family and we had a great time despite it being a little rainy and windy. The campsites are not directly on the lake but are very close! There are basic bathrooms and water spickets at the campsites and a nice bathroom at the lake. There is a long, rocky beach and a large grassy area with picnic tables, fire pit, and camp grills at the lake. Very beautiful area!
