Based on recent customer reviews, Glacier View Campground offers a picturesque waterfront camping experience with opportunities for various outdoor activities, though some aspects of the facilities have received mixed feedback.
The environment of Glacier View Campground is highly praised for its beauty and tranquility. Several campsites are located "right on the water," providing stunning views and easy access to the lake. One reviewer who stayed at site 4 described it as "beyond peaceful and amazing," with calm, "glass water" mornings perfect for paddling kayaks or paddleboards, transitioning to more windy afternoons. The lake itself is a significant feature, ideal for water-based recreation. Additionally, the campground is not too far from the "hidden lake trailhead," which offers a short, one-mile hike, suggesting opportunities for exploring the surrounding natural trails. The overall atmosphere is conducive to a relaxing family camping trip, with one family noting that their children "didn't want to leave."
In terms of services, Glacier View Campground seems to offer running water, as mentioned in one review. There is also a small boat launch, facilitating access to the lake for boating and paddling. The campground is overseen by a host, Sean, who was commended by one reviewer for taking "such good care of the campground area and restrooms," noting the cleanliness of these facilities. However, another review presented a contrasting view of the bathrooms, describing them as "pretty nasty" and smelling strongly of ammonia due to perceived lack of ventilation and infrequent pumping. This discrepancy suggests that the condition of the restrooms might vary or that experiences differ among visitors. The presence of "fairly secluded camp spots" indicates that some sites offer a greater sense of privacy. While not explicitly stated, one can infer the presence of individual campsites suitable for tents or possibly smaller RVs, given the mention of camping and waterfront sites.
The key features of Glacier View Campground include its awesome camping spots directly on the water, providing immediate access for paddling and enjoying lake views. The peaceful ambiance, especially in the mornings, is a significant draw. The proximity to the hidden lake trailhead offers an added recreational activity. The presence of a helpful host who maintains the area is also a notable positive. However, potential drawbacks include the presence of "relentless mosquitoes" and the reported condition of the bathrooms. For local users looking for "camping near me" with waterfront access and a generally serene environment, Glacier View Campground offers considerable appeal.

Glacier View Campground Reviews
We spent a few days recently at the site right on the water (4) it was beyond peaceful and amazing. It was extremely clean and our amazing host Sean took such good care of the campground area and restrooms. The lake is perfect for paddling your kayak or paddle board....the mornings were quiet with glass water and the afternoons more windy. A wonderful place to spend camping with your family, our kids didn't want to leave.
Jun 10, 2024 · Anna WeaverAbsolutely love this place! Awesome camping spots right on the water, plenty of things to explore a small boat launch, running water, some fairly secluded camp spots and it's not too far from the hidden lake trailhead which 8s a short mile hike. The only real downdraw would be the relentless mosquitoes and the bathrooms being pretty nasty and smelling like concentrated ammonia due to having absolutely no ventilation and not being pumped out more often.
Jul 14, 2021 · Shane MarlowIt was a great place for camping you enjoy best of both worlds a lake with stream run offs as well. A nice trail is right next to the campground for a 1/2 mile hike. If you have doubts in going don't the view is breath taking through out the day.
Aug 29, 2017 · april holtThe campground is beautiful! Every site is on the lake and has a view of the mountains across the lake! Each site is generously sized and has a good fire pit and table. Couple down sides: that bathroom's aren't ventilated well so they are a little smelly, and the water probably has too much iron in it so it tastes kind of metallic. But if you pack in your own water or purify water from the lake you should be good. Overall I love this campsite.
Aug 03, 2019 · Cameron DallasThe water here is great for paddle boarding all day! The wind only slightly picks up in the later evening. Definitely take the reviews of the mosquitos seriously, we showed up with some nice plant-based repellent and we were getting bit through our clothes. We ended up going into Leavenworth for the day to avoid the mosquitos and get some heavy duty backwoods sweat proof repellent, which definitely worked a lot better than what we had originally. They seemed to have no hesitation with the basic repellent, citronella candles and repellent wrist bands. We saw our neighbors using some electric paddle type thing which may be a worthwhile investment for your trip. Afterwards I learned that they are attracted to dark colors, so it's best to wear light loose fitting clothing to avoid being bit through your clothes. Be careful of the potholes when you first are coming off the main road and onto the dirt road, it will catch you by surprise! We were out here during the extreme heat warning and there was enough tree coverage and water access to the lake to keep us and our dog a comfortable temp. Also, max people per site is 6, we were unaware and assumed it'd be 8-12 people. We didn't get cell service out there and firewood/ice is about 25-30 minutes away in Plain, WA
