For those in the Bend, Oregon area searching for "camping near me," particularly if you are planning an outing with a large group, Group Camp, located in CROOKED RIVER, OR 97760, USA, offers an excellent option. You can reach them at (541) 546-3412 or via mobile at +1 541-546-3412 for reservations and inquiries. Based on the available customer reviews, Group Camp is highly regarded as an "awesome group camping site" and "one of the best campgrounds in the Bend area," known for its cleanliness, ample space, and essential amenities.
The environment of Group Camp appears to be well-suited for accommodating large groups. One reviewer specifically mentions that "you can fit a lot of tents and people in here!" This suggests spacious campsites designed to handle multiple tents and a significant number of campers, making it ideal for family reunions, gatherings of friends, or organized group outings. Another reviewer notes "nice shade at the tent sites," indicating that the environment provides some relief from the sun, which is particularly valuable during the warmer months in Oregon. The campground's proximity to Crooked River suggests a location that might offer access to river-related activities or scenic views of the river and surrounding landscape. While the reviews don't elaborate extensively on the natural setting, the combination of spacious, shaded campsites and the nearby river implies a pleasant and accommodating environment for group camping. The overall impression is of a well-maintained area designed for comfortable outdoor stays.
In terms of services, Group Camp seems to provide essential amenities that enhance the group camping experience. One of the standout features mentioned is the presence of "great restrooms running water." Clean and functional restrooms are a significant convenience, especially for larger groups, and the provision of running water in these facilities adds to the comfort and hygiene. Furthermore, the review notes that "there are water spigots in each site," which is an exceptionally convenient feature for group camping, allowing easy access to water for cooking, cleaning, and other needs directly at the campsite. This eliminates the need for campers to travel to a central water source. Parking is also a key consideration for group camping, and Group Camp offers "plenty of parking." However, it's important to note a specific parking policy: there is a $7 per day charge for each car exceeding six cars. While the initial parking capacity seems generous, this additional fee for extra vehicles is a service-related cost that groups need to factor into their planning and budget. The availability of these essential services – ample space, water at each site, and good restrooms – contributes significantly to the positive reviews and makes Group Camp a well-equipped destination for group camping.
The features of Group Camp are primarily geared towards accommodating and enhancing the experience of large groups camping together. The ability to "fit a lot of tents and people" is a primary feature, distinguishing it from campgrounds with smaller, individual sites. The provision of water spigots at each site is a notable convenience that simplifies camping for larger numbers. The clean restrooms with running water contribute to a more comfortable and hygienic camping experience. The shade at the tent sites is a valuable feature, especially during hot weather, making the campsites more enjoyable for extended stays. While the reviews don't mention specific recreational facilities within the campground itself (like playgrounds or sports fields), the focus is clearly on providing a well-equipped basecamp for group activities and enjoying the natural surroundings of the Crooked River area and the broader Bend region. The proximity to the Bend area, as noted by one reviewer calling it "one of the best campgrounds in Bend area," suggests that Group Camp might offer a convenient location with access to the attractions and activities of the Bend region, which is known for its outdoor recreation opportunities, including hiking, biking, and water sports.

Awesome group camping site. You can fit a lot of tents and people in here! Plenty of parking although you have to pay $7 a day for each car over 6 cars, which is annoying. Great restrooms running water. There are water spigots in each site.
