Redmond / Central Oregon KOA Holiday Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Central Oregon region, specifically near Redmond and Culver, the Redmond / Central Oregon KOA Holiday, located at 2435 SW Jericho Ln, Culver, OR 97734, presents itself as a potential option under the well-known KOA (Kampgrounds of America) brand. KOA campgrounds often offer a range of amenities and accommodation types, catering to various camping preferences. This detailed introduction aims to provide an objective overview of this particular KOA location based on available information, primarily focusing on recent customer reviews, which paint a concerning picture of the facilities and management.
The environment surrounding the Redmond / Central Oregon KOA Holiday is likely typical of the Central Oregon landscape, potentially featuring high desert terrain, views of the Cascade Mountains in the distance, and a climate characterized by warm, dry summers and cooler winters. The specific natural features of the campground itself, such as trees, landscaping, or proximity to natural attractions, are not detailed in the provided reviews. However, KOA campgrounds generally aim to provide a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the surrounding region.
KOA campgrounds typically offer a variety of services and amenities to cater to different camping styles. These can include:
- **RV Sites:** Often equipped with full hookups (water, electricity, sewer), suitable for recreational vehicles of various sizes.
- **Tent Sites:** Designated areas for tent camping, which may be more basic with limited or no hookups.
- **Cabin Rentals:** A range of cabin options, from basic camping cabins to more deluxe accommodations with amenities like kitchenettes and bathrooms.
- **Restrooms and Showers:** Communal facilities for campers.
- **Laundry Facilities:** Coin-operated or card-operated washers and dryers.
- **Camp Store:** Offering basic camping supplies, snacks, and souvenirs.
- **Recreational Amenities:** These can vary but might include swimming pools, playgrounds, game rooms, and communal gathering areas.
- **Wi-Fi Access:** Often available throughout the campground, though the quality and reliability can vary.
However, the provided customer reviews raise significant concerns about the quality and maintenance of these potential services and amenities at the Redmond / Central Oregon KOA Holiday.
One reviewer who stayed in a "Deluxe cabin" described it as an "outdated mobile home" in poor condition. Upon arrival, they reported finding the door "wide open" and "cat throw up on a pillow." The furniture in the front room was described as "metal framed lawn furniture," and there were "outlets that were loose to the wall," raising potential safety concerns. The reviewer explicitly noted the absence of interior pictures online, suggesting a deliberate lack of transparency regarding the cabin's condition. While they mentioned a "very nice fridge, oven, and tv," the overall impression was one of discomfort and outdatedness. This reviewer also expressed feeling "uncomfortable" due to the presence of "permanent residents in trailers next to us," raising concerns about the safety of their belongings and family. They described a neighboring trailer as "very trashy" with belongings scattered around, contributing to a negative overall experience and leading them to state they would "never be returning" and would not recommend staying there, especially in the "deluxe cabin."
Another reviewer echoed serious cleanliness and maintenance issues. They reported finding "mouse poo on the counters and the floor" of their room and experienced frequent power outages. The restrooms were described as "nasty," and they expressed concern about the behavior of one worker, which they found "alarming," suggesting potential issues with staff conduct or impairment. This reviewer also reported poor customer service, alleging that the owners did not seem to care about their report regarding the concerning employee and that the female owner gave them "massive attitude" when they reported their dirty cabin. Additionally, they experienced a delay in getting their propane filled and reported an unsettling interaction with the male owner. This overwhelmingly negative experience led this reviewer to also state they would "definitely not be returning."
Given these strongly negative firsthand accounts, local users searching for "camping near me" should approach the Redmond / Central Oregon KOA Holiday with extreme caution. The reviews highlight significant problems related to:
- **Accommodation Quality:** Specifically regarding the "deluxe cabin," which was described as outdated, unclean, and potentially unsafe.
- **Cleanliness:** Reports of cat throw up and mouse droppings indicate a lack of adequate cleaning and maintenance in at least some of the accommodations.
- **Safety Concerns:** Loose electrical outlets and feelings of unease due to permanent residents and the condition of neighboring sites raise potential safety issues.
- **Restroom Cleanliness:** The communal restrooms were described as "nasty," which is a significant concern for hygiene and comfort.
- **Staff Behavior and Customer Service:** Allegations of alarming behavior by a staff member and poor attitude from the female owner suggest potential issues with staff training, professionalism, and customer service.
- **Basic Service Issues:** The delay in propane filling indicates potential problems with the responsiveness of the campground staff to guest needs.
Due to the severity and consistency of the negative feedback regarding cleanliness, safety, and customer service, it is difficult to recommend the Redmond / Central Oregon KOA Holiday based solely on this recent information. While KOA campgrounds generally strive to maintain a certain standard of quality, these reviews suggest significant shortcomings at this particular location.
Local users considering "camping near me" in the Redmond/Culver area may want to explore alternative campgrounds or RV parks in the vicinity that have more positive and consistent recent reviews. It would be prudent to research other options and compare their ratings and feedback before making a reservation.
If you are still considering the Redmond / Central Oregon KOA Holiday, it is absolutely essential to contact them directly at (541) 546-3046 or +1 541-546-3046 to inquire specifically about the issues raised in the recent reviews. Ask about the current condition of the cabins, the cleanliness protocols in place, the management's response to the reported concerns, and the overall safety and atmosphere of the campground. Requesting recent photos of the specific accommodation you are considering might also be a wise step, especially given the lack of interior pictures online for the "deluxe cabin."
In conclusion, while the Redmond / Central Oregon KOA Holiday is part of a well-known camping chain, recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of this particular location, citing issues with accommodation quality, cleanliness, safety, staff behavior, and customer service. Local users searching for "camping near me" should carefully consider these firsthand accounts and exercise caution before booking a stay. Thoroughly researching alternative campgrounds in the area and directly contacting the KOA to address the negative feedback would be prudent steps before making a decision.

Redmond / Central Oregon KOA Holiday Reviews
We stayed in the “Deluxe cabin”. Which is an outdated mobile home. When we arrived the door was wide open and we found cat throw up on a pillow. The front room was furnished with metal framed lawn furniture. There were outlets that were loose to the wall. There are no pictures of the inside of the cabin for a reason. It’s outdated for the most part. There is a very nice fridge, oven, and tv however. This is also our first time to be at a KOA and feel uncomfortable. There are some permanent residents in trailers next to us. I did worry about my belongings at night and the safety of my girls. The trailer right next to the “cabin” had was very trashy and had belongings spread out all over. I will never be returning to this KOA. As well as I do not suggest staying here. Especially in the “deluxe cabin”.
Mar 27, 2025 · Kyle dicksonRoom had mouse poo on the counters and the floor, the power kept going out. The restrooms were nasty and one worker was clearly on something as her behaviour was quite alarming. I reported her but the owners didn't seem to care. And when i reported our dirty cabin i was given massive attitude by the female owner. The propane wasn't filled until hours after I had asked it to be. And honestly the male owner gave me the im gonna find a toilet camera vibe. So I will definitely not be returning.
Feb 15, 2025 · Oregon Proudgreat campsite far enough from road for some quite, beautiful views, and very clean and spacious sites/facilities. This is the best/cleanest camp showers I have found in ages. Their camp store is very well stocked and clean with an outstanding selection of beers, foods, and general essentials. They have tons of entertainment options for families with a very cool playground and pool setup. Their staff (Riley and Lisa) were so kind and accommodating. I have always been leery of KOA but this place has changed my mind. well worth the extra drive from redmond or even bend if your headed north.
Sep 21, 2024 · Ian MorrisLocated among fields, it has a pretty calm view, and was quiet, but that's about it. The place is old and not well maintained, and there were some nasty thorns that kept getting on my pet's paws and even got stuck like needles on my shoes. I can't comment on the restrooms as we did not use them. The customer service wasn't great. Electricity went out at about 10pm. We called and texted the office (emergency or after hours line) yet no one called back! Although it may not have been their fault, a courtesy call back to its customers staying in the park would have been nice as we saw others checking like we were. We saw the farmers had lights and we had none for the night. Definitely will not come back.
Sep 30, 2024 · Connie SeveronThis was a great stay!! We loved the location and remoteness, but really loved the welcoming from the staff. Campground was clean and orderly and my favorite part? 2 sewer hook-ups!! Thank you!! Sites were large and easy to get to. We were next to the tent section, which sometimes doesn't go well, but it wasn't an issue. Tent spaces clearly defined and rules followed. It's amazing that when rules are enforced, there are no issues!!! We also took advantage of the breakfast and it was amazing. We will definitely keep this on the "must go back" list!!One warning.... the road coming in is busy so be careful - no turn lane! Also, the driveaway is just barely big enough. Almost got hit by impatient local passing on left.
