Hatfield Park Campground Introduce
Looking for the perfect camping escape close to home? If you're searching for "camping near me" in the New Richmond, Wisconsin area, Hatfield Park Campground offers a unique blend of natural beauty and convenient access to local amenities. While it's a city-run campground operating without a constant on-site host, relying on email communication with public works at (715) 246-4268 or +1 715-246-4268, Hatfield Park Campground presents an opportunity to immerse yourself in the outdoors with some distinctive perks.
Nestled on Hatfield Lane in New Richmond (address: Hatfield Ln, New Richmond, WI 54017, USA), this campground boasts spacious, grassy sites that many visitors have lauded for their stunning lake views. Imagine waking up to the serene sight of the water, the gentle sounds of nature surrounding you. The generous size of the campsites provides ample room to spread out, whether you're setting up a tent for a weekend adventure or parking your RV for a longer stay. The open, grassy terrain also allows for easy maneuvering and a comfortable camping experience.
One of the truly unique features of Hatfield Park Campground is the opportunity to watch water planes take off and land on the adjacent lake. This provides an interesting and often captivating spectacle, adding a touch of novelty to your camping trip. It's not every day you get to witness such aerial activity right from your campsite, making for a memorable experience, especially for families and aviation enthusiasts.
Beyond the natural beauty and unique views, Hatfield Park Campground benefits from its proximity to fantastic dining options. While the campground itself may not offer on-site food services, the convenience of having various restaurants just a short drive away is a significant advantage. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a quick lunch, or a satisfying dinner after a day of outdoor activities, you'll find a range of choices nearby to cater to your culinary preferences. This accessibility to local eateries adds a layer of convenience that many campers appreciate.
For those interested in recreational activities beyond the campground itself, the location offers additional benefits. Reviews suggest that Hatfield Park Campground is situated near a skatepark, providing a fun outlet for skateboarders and those who enjoy watching the action. This proximity to recreational facilities expands the possibilities for entertainment during your stay. Furthermore, the lake access hints at opportunities for fishing, although specific details about fishing amenities and regulations would be best confirmed through local inquiries.
It's important to consider some of the points raised in customer reviews to ensure Hatfield Park Campground aligns with your expectations. One recurring concern is the frequency of grass cutting, with one reviewer noting it occurred only once a month. This might be a factor to consider if you prefer meticulously maintained grounds. Additionally, the campground does not offer USPS mail delivery, although FedEx and UPS services are reportedly available. This is relevant for campers planning an extended stay who might need to receive packages.
Another practical consideration is the dumping station for RVs, which is described as being "straight UP hill." This could present a challenge for some RV owners, and it's advisable to be aware of this setup when planning your departure. While the campground is situated between two highways, at least some campsites are described as being tucked back, offering a degree of quiet. However, being near a busy intersection might still result in some ambient noise throughout the day and night, which light sleepers may want to take into account when choosing a site, if possible.
Finally, one review mentions gophers burrowing under the power pedestals. While this is a natural occurrence in outdoor environments, it's something to be mindful of during your stay and potentially report to the public works department if you notice any issues. Despite these points, the positive aspects of spacious lakeside sites and unique water plane views continue to attract campers to Hatfield Park Campground.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Hatfield Park Campground offers an accessible option with appealing natural surroundings and convenient access to nearby dining and recreational facilities like a skatepark. While the city-run nature of the campground means communication is primarily via email and there isn't a constant on-site host, the spacious lakeside sites and the unique experience of watching water planes provide a distinctive camping opportunity in the New Richmond area. We encourage you to consider Hatfield Park Campground for your next local camping adventure, keeping in mind the feedback from fellow campers to ensure a well-prepared and enjoyable experience.
For the most up-to-date information on availability, specific amenities (such as electrical hookups mentioned in one review), and any current regulations or guidelines, it is always recommended to contact the New Richmond Public Works department directly using the provided phone numbers: (715) 246-4268 or +1 715-246-4268. They will be able to provide the most accurate details to help you plan your camping trip at Hatfield Park Campground.

Hatfield Park Campground Reviews
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5Hatfield Campground in New Richmond, WIAfter spending 5 months here, we’ve got some insights to share. This city-run campground operates without an on-site host, and all communication is handled via email with public works. Here’s our mixed review:👎🏼 Negatives:1. The grass was only cut once a month! (I wish I was being dramatic about this..)2. No USPS mail delivery, though FedEx/UPS works.3. You’re dumping straight UP hill.4. It’s right between two highways; our sites were tucked back so it was fairly quiet.5. Gophers burrow under the power pedestals. 🙃👍🏼 Positives:1. Spacious, grassy sites with stunning lakeviews!2. Watching water planes take off is a unique perk!3. Fantastic dining options nearby!
Oct 15, 2024 · Andrea MarkhamLooks like a great campground with some electrical hookups. It's right on the corner of a very busy intersection so would probably be pretty noisy throughout the day and night. Looks like a very easy campground to camp at with some great fishing and other options like a skatepark
Oct 17, 2024 · Ben SpaderSmall campground with full hookups right on the edge of town. Right on bike trail through the city park/sports field and loops around town. Able to extend our stay for one day, Maria was very helpful and accommodating.
Jul 30, 2020 · Mariann NielsenFull hookups, good cell service. Road noise can be a little out. Kid’s baseball is out of control. Parents drive through going way to fast. Kids hitting practice balls towards the rv park instead of away. Cars parked all over during games. Including blocking the dump station. They are adding a few new spaces which is nice. It’s peaceful as long as there’s not a ball game going on.
Jun 13, 2023 · Joanna PahlowWe enjoyed spending a month here. Great rate, good water/electric. Sites could be leveled out more however. That all seemed to slop down one way or the other. There is a dump station that people take for granted. We would watch 4 or 5 RV's come in just about every day, dump, and NOT pay. There is a small fee and a drop box, but these days people would rather cheat then support the park.Road noise but it dies down in late evening. If you bring kids, WATCH THEM as the people who play softball or go for walk SPEED through the park area! Limit is 10, yet doing 30 or more is the norm for locals. We our selves almost got hit one evening.Nothing other then full hookups. Have to go to the big city for major shopping or just do the local places. The ACE hardware store is HUGE! Loved going there!Seemed to us, that people there like driving fast, lots of speeders in our view.We would stay again however if we need too
