Sep 24, 2024 · Victoria MartynyakLONG REVIEW. The only reason this is so long is because it includes the info I would have loved to know prior to our visit. When booking this trip, all cabins were full so I couldn't see inside any of them and I'm not great at asking questions in the moment. Spent the weekend here to camp and float the river with a large group of friends and all of our families. A couple of us rented a cabin to share for the weekend and the rest of our group tent camped. The cabin had more amenities than expected. I was surprised to find it had a full bathroom, with a bathtub. There was a larger sized mini fridge with freezer, a microwave, coffee pot and portable air conditioner. Everything was clean. The upstairs loft is exactly just that. A loft with plywood floors, a side table, a fan and lamp. The lamp didn't have a bulb and the fan didn't work but our group brought fans so it was fine. The cabins sit near/under under willow trees so the shade outside is nice and it creates a very pretty setting. The office has a neat little "zoo" started inside with birds, reptiles, bunnies and guinea pigs. The owner also has several dogs, including 2 Great Pyrenese that roam freely and are friendly. There is a nice bathroom on the backside of the office, with a washer and dryer in the room next door. The whole campground is nice. Clean, well maintained and safe. There is a petting zoo with goats and chickens and a mini putt putt course. The course needed a little TLC to be usable, just with sticks and leaves and such on the greens but we've also had lots of bad weather in the week running up to our visit there so I'm not sure if that's the usual. We all found the owner to be helpful, friendly, easy to speak with, and approachable. The pool is clean and partially shaded for those who don't want to sit in the sun but still want to enjoy the water. On an ending note, we loved finishing our river float and being right there at our camp spots. Gorgeous sunset spot too. We will definitely do this again and more often! I would recommend this campground to anyone looking for a family friendly, fairly private getaway or staycation on the river.
Aug 06, 2024 · Siara WilliamsBetween our trip from Idaho to NC This is by far the best most beautiful RV resort. If you don’t mind driving 6 miles from Newport on back country roads it’s well worthwhile. The owners are wonderful and most all campsites are along the river lined with trees. Rest rooms are clean plus I give them a 5 star rating. Better than classy hotels and the pool has the best views of pasture with horses. The place is truly Heavenly
Jun 01, 2024 · Gwen KeilmanIf you stayed here when it was banks you’re definitely in for some changes. If you remember the family atmosphere where the true TN hospitality was shown this is definitely a change from what it is now. The new owner is the most unfriendly person in the campground where a smile and a wave is to much for her to give. The place is a grave yard of what it once was with no where near as many friendly face and kind words. The only one with a personality left is Amy.The river is still the same but you won’t see the multitude of guest in the water because no one stays anymore. The promises the owner made are true there’s a petting zoo with maybe two goats and a couple dogs that roam the campground looking for food and shade and look like they are in desperate need of a bath. The bathrooms have been updated but the whole time we stayed they were flood/not working. There is Wi-Fi now. Also depending on who you talk to the price you are told one day may not be the price you are told the next. So be prepared to pay more even if you were told a price to begin with.10/10 don’t recommend and personal will not EVER stay here again until the owner sells and the true Tennessee spirit is brought back to this place.
