Hejamada Campground & RV Park Introduce
Are you a local resident in New York State searching for a "camping near me" or an "RV park near me" that offers a family-friendly environment? Consider Hejamada Campground & RV Park, located at 748 Mcdonald Rd, Port Byron, NY 13140, USA. Based on recent customer feedback, this campground boasts a favorable location and a welcoming atmosphere, though there are some points to note regarding specific accommodation types. If you're looking for a generally clean and well-spaced option for your "camping near me" needs, Hejamada Campground & RV Park is worth considering.
One of the recurring positive aspects mentioned in the reviews is the location and overall environment of Hejamada Campground & RV Park. One visitor described it as a "family friendly place" and noted that it was "clean." This suggests that the campground strives to maintain a welcoming and tidy environment suitable for families looking for "camping near me." The cleanliness of a campground is often a high priority for many campers, and this feedback indicates that Hejamada Campground & RV Park performs well in this aspect.
The campground also offers some amenities that might appeal to local users. One reviewer mentioned a "fishing pond catch & release," which could be a great feature for families or individuals who enjoy fishing as part of their "camping near me" experience. The catch-and-release aspect often implies a focus on conservation and enjoying the activity itself. Additionally, they noted that "$6 for wood bundle" was available, a practical convenience for those planning to have campfires.
For added convenience and perhaps a bit of fun, Hejamada Campground & RV Park offers a "gold cart you can rent," with one reviewer mentioning a $50 per day rental fee. Renting a golf cart could be useful for navigating the campground, especially if it's spacious, or for adding a leisurely way to explore the area within the park. This is a feature that might enhance the experience for some local users looking for "camping near me" with extra recreational options.
Another positive aspect mentioned was "well spaced sites." This is often appreciated by campers as it provides more privacy and a feeling of not being too crowded. Whether you're in an RV or a tent, spacious sites can contribute to a more relaxing and enjoyable "camping near me" experience.
However, one reviewer did express a significant concern regarding a specific accommodation option: "the trailer where they gave because it was so OLD. dusty, spiderwebs, limited kitchen supplies, it's just an old trailer and small for my family." This feedback suggests that at least some of the rental trailers at Hejamada Campground & RV Park may be outdated and not well-maintained. This is an important point for local users to consider if they are specifically looking to rent a trailer rather than bringing their own RV or tent. The reviewer did mention that "if only trailer was newer that they can give me. I'd come back," indicating that their overall impression of the location was positive, but the specific trailer was a drawback.
Another visitor who stayed overnight noted "a little background noise from I90," but stated that "we expected that" and "would stay here again." This suggests that while there might be some ambient noise due to the proximity of the interstate, it was not significant enough to deter this guest from wanting to return. This is useful information for local users who might be sensitive to noise when choosing a "camping near me" location.

In summary, Hejamada Campground & RV Park in Port Byron, NY, appears to be a family-friendly and generally clean campground with spacious sites and amenities like a fishing pond and golf cart rentals. However, potential guests looking to rent a trailer should be aware of the feedback regarding older units. For those with their own camping equipment, the positive comments about the location and cleanliness make it a viable option for "camping near me." For tent campers looking for "camping near me," ask about the designated tent areas and the ground conditions for pitching a tent.
Given the mixed feedback on the trailer rentals, it would be prudent to specifically ask about the age and condition of any trailer you might be considering renting. This will help you make an informed decision.
Overall, Hejamada Campground & RV Park seems to offer a pleasant location for "camping near me," with several positive attributes. Contact them to discuss your specific needs and preferences for your local camping adventure.

If only trailer was newer that they can give me. I'd come back.
Aug 05, 2024 · Aml HacOn initial impressions, we thought that it was a nice place. Well spaced sites. A little background noise from I90, we expected that.We just stayed overnight on the way to Lake Placid Monday after Labor Day.Would stay here again.
Sep 08, 2024 · Alan KatzThis place really has potential but there were a lot of disappointments. The grounds are beautiful and I definitely enjoyed how quiet it is. The fish fry on Friday was AMAZING, however it took almost an hour to be served and they weren’t even remotely busy. The worst part of the stay is when we drove over to the dumping grounds and found their sewage dump was full!! This was a Sunday morning when they should have been preparing for people to leave, instead we weren’t able to dump our sewage. The only thing that made us suspect it was full was some cones placed out, there was no sign and they did not tell us when we came in Friday that we would not be able to dump our sewage Sunday morning. We left early, around 8, so it wasn’t because we dumped late. I can imagine there were a lot of disappointed people who attempted to dump after us. The pool was closed which was also a large disappointment, being that we are weeks into the season I’m imagining they aren’t planning to open the pool. So the potential is there but there was disappointment.
Jun 25, 2023 · Jessica SteeleArea is nice but not maintained. Could be a beautiful campground but is not. Pool was closed during our stay for maintenance but no one was around working on it. Laundry room was also closed for maintenance and again no one ever working in there. Big fire started near our camp site so had to check it out. It appears, they are tearing down old trailers and burning the debris near camp sites. Carpet, flooring, furniture and other building materials burning and putting out poisonous gasses and black smoke. The septic system makes the entire area smell like sewage. The last day couldn’t end without another disappointment. Even though there was only about 8 non seasonal campers, the dump station was filled. When asked what we were suppose to do about dumping our waste. Their reply was “I don’t know”. We had to go somewhere and pay to dump. This place was a one and done for us and I would advise you to seek another campground.
Jun 26, 2023 · Kevin StehleWho ever heard of a campground that will not let you book tent sites for 8 adults?! What a joke! We were willing to get 4 sites even and the lady said, "No! That's a bit much. " Wow! How insulting is that!
