Hidden Falls Area A Campground Introduce
For local adventure enthusiasts in the Marble Falls area searching for exciting "camping near me" options, Hidden Falls Area A Campground, located in Marble Falls, TX 78654, USA, offers a unique experience. This destination primarily functions as an off-road park and gun range, providing thrilling activities for those who enjoy exploring rugged terrain and target shooting. While camping is available, it's important for potential visitors to understand the primary focus and specific conditions of this location based on available user reviews.
One recent visitor shared their experience, noting that while they had an "overall fine experience," Hidden Falls Area A Campground might not be suitable for all types of campers. This family, traveling with a variety of vehicles including a small side-by-side, a 4-wheeler, and a dirt bike, encountered challenges with the campsite itself. They described the "camp area" as "uneven and poorly marked," which made parking and unhooking their 43' trailer "very hard." This suggests that the campground might present logistical difficulties for those with larger RVs or trailers due to the terrain and site layout.
However, the primary draw of Hidden Falls Area A Campground appears to be its extensive network of off-road trails. The reviewer mentioned that "getting to the trails were very easy to get to," and after purchasing a "$3 map," they could "maneuver the park easily." This indicates that the park is well-mapped and accessible for off-road vehicle users. It's crucial to note, though, that the trails are described as "extremely rocky," and many are not suitable for "novice or small machines." This highlights that the trails are geared towards more experienced off-roaders with capable vehicles. While "their were lots of trails," the reviewer also pointed out that there weren't "a lot of places to open our machines," suggesting that the trail design might prioritize technical riding over open, high-speed areas.
Beyond the off-roading opportunities, another significant feature of Hidden Falls Area A Campground is its gun range. A long-time visitor, who has been going there since the park first opened, praised it as a "Great Off Road park and gun range," indicating that this is a key amenity offered. This combination of off-road trails and a gun range makes Hidden Falls a unique destination for those interested in both activities. The reviewer also mentioned "Fair prices for the amenities provided," suggesting that the cost aligns with the offerings.
The staff at Hidden Falls Area A Campground were described as "friendly," which is always a positive aspect of any visitor experience. However, the reviewer also noted that "some of their policies are very strict." Unfortunately, the specific nature of these strict policies was not detailed in the review. It would be prudent for potential campers to inquire about the campground's rules and regulations beforehand to ensure they align with their expectations and needs.
Considering the limited information available and the experiences shared by visitors, Hidden Falls Area A Campground seems to cater primarily to individuals and families who are passionate about off-roading and potentially target shooting. The camping facilities appear to be secondary to these main attractions and might present challenges for certain types of campers, particularly those with large trailers or those seeking more developed and level campsites.
For local users searching for "camping near me" with a focus on off-road adventures, Hidden Falls Area A Campground could be an exciting option. The easy access to numerous, albeit challenging, trails is a significant advantage for ATV, UTV, and dirt bike enthusiasts. The presence of a gun range further broadens its appeal to those interested in shooting sports. However, it's essential to be aware of the potentially uneven and poorly marked campsites, as well as the strict policies mentioned in the review. Visitors with large trailers should likely contact the campground directly to inquire about site suitability and any specific instructions for parking and setup.
Given the lack of specific details about services and promotional information in the provided reviews, it is highly recommended that local users interested in camping at Hidden Falls Area A Campground contact them directly for more comprehensive information. Inquire about the availability and types of campsites, any amenities offered (such as water hookups, restroom facilities, etc.), the specific rules and regulations, and any current pricing or promotional offers. This direct communication will help potential visitors make an informed decision based on their individual camping needs and preferences.
In summary, Hidden Falls Area A Campground near Marble Falls offers a unique blend of off-road adventure and shooting sports. While the camping experience might have some limitations, the accessibility to challenging trails and the presence of a gun range make it a compelling destination for local thrill-seekers looking for "camping near me" that combines outdoor recreation with adrenaline-pumping activities. However, it's crucial to be prepared for potentially uneven campsites and to understand and adhere to the campground's policies.

Hidden Falls Area A Campground Reviews
Overall, we had a fine experience, but this isn't the place for us. We are a family of three with a variety of vehicles. We have a small side by side, 4 wheeler, and a dirt bike. The camp area was uneven and poorly marked. We had a very hard time parking and unhooking our 43' trailer. Getting to the trails were very easy to get to, and overall after paying for their $3 map, we could maneuver the park easily. The trails are extremely rocky, and many can not be taken by novice or small machines. Their were lots of trails but not a lot of places to open our machines and that's more of our preference. The staff was friendly but some of their policies are very strict.
Mar 22, 2025 · Damian GarciaGreat Off Road park and gun range. Been going here since the place 1st opened. Fair prices for the amenities provided. Pics are from Wildcat Ridge.
Oct 19, 2024 · Roger MuellerArea A is my favorite part to camp in. It's away from the general store and pavilion but that makes it a quieter place to stay as Area B can get loud at times. No matter where you stay though, whether it's a tent, RV, bunkhouse, or hammock, you're bound to have a GREAT time at the park!
Feb 22, 2022 · Airwrecka ChatLegit, pads could be a little more level but overall nice experience. Wasn’t crazy loud at night & nothing was messed with that was left out overnight. Showers were warm & bathroom was decently clean.
Apr 05, 2022 · Jeff ZinkFun place out in the middle of nowhere. Dirt bike trails are fun for advanced riders and a great challenge for newer riders. Nice camper spots as well.
