Holder Mine Campground Introduce
Looking for a "camping near me" experience that offers peace, convenience, and access to nature? Holder Mine Campground, located at 4399 Trail 10, Inverness, FL 34452, USA, appears to be an excellent choice for local users seeking a relaxing getaway. Situated within the Citrus Wildlife Management Area, this campground promises a tranquil environment with appealing amenities, as highlighted by recent customer reviews.
The environment surrounding Holder Mine Campground is a significant draw. Being located within the Citrus Wildlife Management Area suggests an immersion in natural Florida landscapes. This area is known for its diverse ecosystems, including forests, wetlands, and potentially lakes or rivers, offering opportunities for wildlife viewing and enjoying the serenity of nature. Campers can likely expect a peaceful and quiet setting, away from the hustle and bustle of more commercial areas, perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with the outdoors.
Based on the positive customer reviews, Holder Mine Campground offers several appealing services and features:
- Water and Electric Hookups: Multiple reviewers specifically mention the availability of water and electric hookups at the campsites. This is a significant convenience, especially for RV campers and those who appreciate having power and water readily accessible at their site.
- Spacious Sites with Concrete Pads: Campers have noted that the campsites are generously sized and equipped with concrete pads. This provides a level and stable surface for parking RVs or setting up tents, enhancing comfort and ease of setup.
- Clean and Well-Kept Bathrooms: The cleanliness of the bathroom facilities is consistently praised in the reviews. This is a crucial aspect for a comfortable camping experience, and it's reassuring to know that Holder Mine Campground maintains high standards in this area.
- Hot Showers with Great Pressure: Enjoying a hot shower with good water pressure can make a big difference during a camping trip. Reviewers have highlighted this as a positive feature of the campground.
- Campfires Allowed at Your Own Site: The ability to have a campfire at your individual campsite adds to the traditional camping experience, providing warmth and a cozy ambiance in the evenings.
- Sewer Dump Station: While one reviewer noted that the sewer dump station was a bit challenging to find (located just outside the campground), its presence is a valuable amenity for RV campers needing to empty their holding tanks.
In addition to these mentioned services and features, being located within the Citrus Wildlife Management Area offers potential access to outdoor activities such as hiking, wildlife viewing, and possibly fishing or hunting (subject to area regulations and seasons). The tranquility of the location is also repeatedly emphasized, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking peace and quiet.
One crucial piece of information from a review is the necessity of having the gate code upon arrival. Campers are advised to look for this code in their confirmation email, store it in their phone notes, or write it down, as cell service is reported to be "really spotty." This proactive tip ensures a smoother check-in process and prevents potential delays due to lack of communication.
The reviews also indirectly highlight a potential area for improvement: clearer signage or information regarding the location of the sewer dump station. The fact that a returning camper had difficulty locating it suggests that this information might not be prominently displayed or included in the booking confirmation. However, the reviewer still expressed a desire to return, indicating that this was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise positive experience.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided text. In conclusion, Holder Mine Campground appears to be a highly recommended "camping near me" option for local users seeking a quiet and well-equipped getaway within the beautiful Citrus Wildlife Management Area. The availability of water and electric hookups, spacious concrete pads, clean facilities, and hot showers ensures a comfortable stay. The opportunity for campfires adds to the traditional camping appeal, while the surrounding natural environment offers tranquility and potential for wildlife encounters. Remember to secure the gate code before your arrival due to spotty cell service and consider the location of the sewer dump station if needed. This could very well become your new "go to campground" for relaxing escapes in nature!

Apr 20, 2025 · michele kingPerfect getaway campground in the Citrus Wildlife Management Area. We loved the tranquility of the place. Nice to have your campfire at night at your own site. Electricity and water hookup worked fine. It took us a while, but we finally found the sewer dump station just outside of the campground. This info could be handy on the information board and on the booking confirmation. We loved the site and would definitely come back.
Aug 23, 2024 · Paul Op 't EijndeSite 8. All sites are spacious concrete pads. Site 8 has a picnic table and fire ring a bit away from the pad. Lots of shade. Great place to get away!
Nov 10, 2024 · Toni CardamoneWe've camped here a couple times with our 4x4s and it's a great place. We'll definitely be back
Feb 26, 2025 · Dylan CannonClean, quuet campground off the bearen path. Hot showers included, black/gray waste disposal for campers just outside the electronic coded gates, garbage drop off near exit, clean restrooms & nice hot showers. Level concrete parking pads for tent or camper. A Pavillion for large group gathering. Water & electric hookup, regular, 30 or 50 amp). Clean fire rings, beautiful tree shaded & quiet setting. Within an hour, give or take a few mins, of most springs to paddle, as well as parks/reserves to visit. Places such as Rainbow River, Silver Springs, Weeki Wachee Springs, Hunter's Beach, and Pete's Pier near Three Sisters Spring.
