Holiday Campground Introduce
Looking for a peaceful "camping near me" experience in the LaGrange, Georgia area, where you can unwind by a serene lake and enjoy spacious, private campsites? Holiday Campground, located at 954 Abbottsford Rd, LaGrange, GA 30240, USA, appears to offer just that. You can reach them by phone at (706) 884-6818 or mobile at +1 706-884-6818 for inquiries and reservations.
Based on the feedback from fellow campers, Holiday Campground boasts a notably tranquil environment. One reviewer described the lake and campground as "surprisingly quiet," suggesting a peaceful atmosphere that allows for genuine relaxation and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This quiet ambiance can be a significant draw for local users seeking a serene outdoor retreat.
The spaciousness and privacy of the campsites are also highlighted as key features. The reviewer mentioned "spacious and private sites," indicating that campers can enjoy a sense of seclusion and ample room to set up their camp and enjoy their surroundings without feeling crowded. This is a valuable attribute for those who appreciate having their own space and a degree of separation from neighboring campers, enhancing the overall feeling of being immersed in nature.
A significant advantage of Holiday Campground appears to be its direct access to the lake. One visitor specifically mentioned, "Love that we was right on the lake," emphasizing the prime waterfront location. Lakeside camping offers a range of benefits, including scenic views, opportunities for water-based activities such as fishing and potentially boating or swimming (though these are not explicitly mentioned in the reviews), and the soothing sounds of the water. For local users who enjoy being near the water, this campground could be an ideal choice.
The management and staff at Holiday Campground also receive positive remarks. The reviewer noted it as a "very well managed campground" and praised the staff as "great." This suggests that visitors can expect a well-organized and smoothly run facility, with helpful and friendly staff members who contribute to a positive camping experience. Good management can make a significant difference in the overall comfort and enjoyment of a campground.
However, one area for potential improvement mentioned in the reviews is the bathhouse facilities. The reviewer noted that there are only two bathhouses for the entire campground and, while they are clean, they "needed updating." This is an important piece of information for potential visitors to consider. While cleanliness is a definite plus, the need for updating might mean that the facilities are somewhat older or less modern than what some campers might expect. Additionally, the limited number of bathhouses could potentially lead to longer wait times during peak seasons or busy periods.
Despite the need for updates to the bathhouses, the positive aspects of Holiday Campground seem to outweigh this concern for many visitors, as the first reviewer concluded with "Definitely camping here again!" This strong indication of a positive overall experience speaks volumes about the appeal of the campground's quiet lakeside setting, spacious and private sites, and good management.
While specific details about other services and features are not provided in these brief reviews, we can infer some likely offerings based on typical campgrounds. These might include designated areas for tent and RV camping (though only the lake access and site spaciousness are directly mentioned), picnic tables and fire rings at individual campsites, and possibly common areas for activities or gatherings. Given the lakefront location, there might also be amenities related to water activities, such as boat launches or fishing docks, although this is speculative based on the limited information.
Promotional information is not explicitly present in the provided reviews. However, the positive feedback regarding the quiet atmosphere, spacious and private sites, lake access, and great staff serves as a strong implicit recommendation for Holiday Campground to local users seeking a relaxing "camping near me" experience. The fact that a visitor intends to return is a powerful endorsement.
To obtain more comprehensive information about Holiday Campground, including the specific types of campsites available (tent, RV, or both), the amenities offered at each site (e.g., hookups), the availability of water-related activities, any specific rules or regulations, and to inquire about reservations, local users should contact them directly using the provided phone numbers. They might also have an online presence, such as a website or social media, where more details and potentially photos of the campground and facilities could be found.
In conclusion, Holiday Campground in LaGrange, GA, offers a promising "camping near me" option for those seeking a tranquil lakeside getaway with spacious and private campsites. The positive feedback regarding the quiet environment, direct lake access, and well-managed facilities, despite the acknowledged need for updating the bathhouses, suggests a pleasant and memorable camping experience. Holiday Campground Reviews
This was surprisingly a quiet lake and campground. Spacious and private sites. Only 2 bath houses in the campground and although clean, needed updating. Definitely camping here again!
Mar 30, 2025 · Melanie PhillipsFirst time visiting Holiday campgrounds but not my last. Very well managed campground. Love that we was right on the lake and staff was great.
Mar 25, 2025 · Juan AndersonSpots are beautiful and right on the water. However, having the gates closed from 10pm-7am is kind of crazy. State parks have gate codes to solve this issue. Not sure why that isn’t done here. Also, the bathrooms are ATROCIOUS. There are only small bathroom houses near the campsites and then far away are the shower houses that are in terrible disrepair, with rust everywhere!!
Mar 24, 2025 · Rebekah DiazNice place just need some update on the sites. Don't expect large space for your long caper, mine is 26 foot long and the site is on a incline the site is the 27.One thing that don't like at all was that at 10pm the gate is closed with a padlook in case of emergency you need to call the hostess, the bathroom need update the are old.
Jul 24, 2023 · Victor vazquezWe love Holiday Campground! It's getting harder and harder to find a site, especially for holidays, but the hosts have always been nice, helpful, and happy to assist us when we needed it. We had a very large group, and everything wemt as smooth as could be expected with diffent checkin times and days. They were very patient with our chaos! Almost all the sites a "good sites" although some are weird. Weird as in the tent pad is set off from the campsite driveway. Which is great for tent camping, but it's not so great if you have a camper and ate used to setting up just outside the door, with a dog fence etc. Not anything that could not be worked around for us, but we planned ahead and brought a cart with is to carry our stuff back and forth. We have been many times, and we will be back many more times.
