Jonesborough / Cherokee NF KOA Journey Reviews
Not sure about how the bad reviews come about... other than people just suck. Great location and friendly staff. Nice little campground and our doggies enjoyed the paw pen. Next time we will be packing swimming gear... wasn't sure how the river would be, but definitely something you can swim in and enjoy. Already planning on coming back and haven't even left yet. Not sure where people's complaints about pricing came from either. Pricing is very much in line with most campgrounds. If you can't afford the campsite pricing, you probably can't afford the camper either.
Jun 29, 2024 · Roland VenneThis is a great off the beaten path RV park, very impressive and beautiful scenery, nicely positioned spaces and beautiful views of the river! The staff is very helpful and friendly, the store is nicely laid out with a reasonable amount of gifts and needs! I will definitely stay here again, and probably much longer next time to enjoy all the park and area have to offer! Thanks to the staff and ownership for making this a great place to stay!
May 24, 2024 · Richard KlingbergI honestly can’t say enough about this campground! Every staff member we encountered was extremely helpful and respectful.Gorgeous campground right on the Nolichucky River with direct and easy river access. Tons of amenities are offered at this location, including pizza delivery to your site, text updates during your stay, and a gift shop. Great location to surrounding areas all within reasonable driving distances, but honestly you won’t want to leave! This campground is impeccably clean, staff are always easy to find, and bathhouses are spotless!***Exceptional Customer Service - We booked a private site on HipCamp months ago to celebrate my birthday and Memorial Day Weekend, only after confirming with owner the details of our rig and that we would be able to access the site. After a 3 hour drive, upon arrival we could not get our 40ft fifth wheel into the site without permanent damage to our camper and tailgate. I reached out to this campground in hopes they could take us, at least for a night until we could make other plans. We passed this KOA on our way in less than a mile from where we supposed to stay.Ronda said come on for the night and that will give you time to figure something out for the weekend. I booked the one night and got settled in the site she had available. Within 1 hour Ronda came to our site to tell us not only did she get us in a spot for the night, she got us a spot there for the entire duration of our original trip. This woman went above and beyond and made our trip possible, and we had the most peaceful and relaxing weekend. Ronda, you and your staff are top notch, thank you so very much for a wonderful stay at a gorgeous location. You are appreciated more than you know!
May 28, 2024 · Hannah WithersThis was a last minute over night stay to our destination. We were a little anxious as we have had some harrowing experiences. This was AMAZING. We didn’t get out of our vehicle, we were greeted by Chandler who via golf cart escorted us to our campsite #41. Our site we booked was a drive through. Long enough we did not have to unhook! We were allowed to get settled THEN go to the office to check in. Sonya who checked us in was knowledgeable and kind. They have a life size cut out of Kenny Chesney… Who knew it used to be a restaurant he performed at! The office/store nicely stocked with supplies and gift ideas. The location setting is beside the Nolichucky River. You can hear the roaring of the river as there are rapids perfectly located beside campground. We put on our water shoes and walked in the river. So nice! Of course, thinking I was Simone Biles on the balance beam decided to venture on the under water rocks that were very slick, took an unexpected refreshing dip in the river. The bathroom facilities were so clean! You have private individual stalls and showers! It felt very homey! The laundry room was nice as well! I hoped there was a bill changer. There wasn’t but there WAS Rhonda (manager) who was there and so helpful to provide me with change! The campground road/path is lined with mason jars with solar twinkle lights inside and each site has a jar of twinkle lights. Each site has nicely lined large “rocks” which also added to the beauty of the camp ground. The grand finale was pizza delivered to our camper! Yes, I said delivered to our camper! We ordered from Sonya when we checked in, gave her the time we wanted it delivered. It was made by camp ground staff (I think Sonya made it) delivered hot and on time! It was delicious! We don’t have doggies but for the doggie lovers/owners they have a nice area fenced for your 4 legged kids.We have already told others about this KOA and we will definitely return for a longer stay! Thanks to all staff for providing great customer service and cleanliness for travelers!
