Pebble Mountain Family Campground Introduce
For those in the Chuckey, Tennessee area and searching within the "camping near me" category, Pebble Mountain Family Campground, located at 78 Pebble Mountain Cir, Chuckey, TN 37641, USA, presents itself as an affordable option with some appealing natural features. With phone numbers (423) 257-2120 and +1 423-257-2120, this campground has garnered mixed reviews from recent visitors, highlighting both its affordability and some areas that may require improvement. Potential campers should carefully consider these aspects to determine if Pebble Mountain Family Campground aligns with their needs and expectations.
Within the "camping near me" platform category, Pebble Mountain Family Campground is noted for its affordability, as mentioned by one reviewer stating, "For the most part it was a quiet park. Affordable. ... But than again you get what you pay for! It's cheep!" This suggests that budget-conscious travelers may find the pricing attractive. The owners are also described as "nice, friendly people," which can contribute positively to the overall atmosphere of the campground.
The environment at Pebble Mountain Family Campground offers some natural beauty, with "The creek" being cited as "the most enjoyable part" by one visitor. The presence of a creek can provide opportunities for relaxation, wading, and perhaps even fishing, depending on its size and regulations. Additionally, another reviewer noted that "The view of the mountain was amazing though," indicating that the campground benefits from scenic vistas of the surrounding landscape. These natural elements could be appealing to those seeking a getaway with picturesque views and access to a creek.
However, it's crucial to note some significant drawbacks mentioned in the reviews regarding the services and features of Pebble Mountain Family Campground. One of the most prominent points is the absence of a pool, which was a key factor for at least one booking party. The reviewer stated, "Don't look for the pool! (There isn't one! It's been turned into a dog park.) That was the reason we booked there. Wanted to spend time at the pool. Especially since theres nothing to do at the park itself." This suggests that the conversion of the pool into a dog park might be disappointing for guests expecting swimming facilities. Furthermore, the comment "theres nothing to do at the park itself" raises concerns about the availability of on-site activities or amenities beyond the creek and the view.
Several reviewers also pointed out issues with the facilities. One described "a lot of very old campers that were rather disgusting. Obviously been there a long time," which could impact the overall aesthetic and potentially the atmosphere of the campground. The "clubhouse" was described as "gross," further detracting from the communal spaces. Laundry facilities appear to be minimal, with "One washer and one dryer tucked away in a room that if you didn't look for it, you would never have found it." This limited availability and obscure location could be inconvenient for longer stays.
Concerns were also raised about the capacity of the owners to manage the campground effectively, with one reviewer stating, "The owners have bit off more than they can handle. Needs a lot of improvement." This suggests potential issues with maintenance, upkeep, or overall management of the property. The recommendation to "get the run down abandoned campers out" further supports the idea that the campground may be facing challenges in maintaining its facilities and appearance.
Specific campsite amenities also received mixed feedback. One camper mentioned, "The campsite was nice. I wish it had a 110 outlet along with the 30 AMP," indicating that some sites may lack standard household electrical outlets, which could be inconvenient for charging devices or using certain appliances. Bathroom facilities were described as "clean but normal outside bugs," which is to be expected in an outdoor setting, but the shower experienced issues with maintaining warm water and water pressure when others were using the men's room simultaneously. This could lead to discomfort or inconvenience during peak usage times.
While Wi-Fi was available, its reliability seemed to be an issue, with a reviewer noting, "There was wifi, but if too many people connected, it would kick you off." This intermittent connectivity could be frustrating for guests needing to stay connected for work or personal reasons.
Based on the provided reviews, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or special features at Pebble Mountain Family Campground. Potential campers would need to contact the campground directly to inquire about any discounts, seasonal rates, or unique amenities that might not have been mentioned in the reviews.
In conclusion, Pebble Mountain Family Campground near Chuckey, Tennessee, offers an affordable option for those seeking "camping near me" with the benefits of creek access and mountain views. The owners are reported to be friendly. However, potential visitors should be aware of the absence of a pool (now a dog park), the presence of older and potentially unkempt long-term campers, a reportedly unpleasant clubhouse, limited laundry facilities, potential issues with shower water temperature and pressure, and unreliable Wi-Fi. While the price point may be attractive to budget travelers, it appears that the campground may require significant improvements to meet the expectations of all campers. It is recommended that interested individuals contact Pebble Mountain Family Campground directly to inquire about the current state of the facilities, specific campsite amenities, and any available promotional offers before making a booking decision.

May 17, 2024 · Diane HarperThe campsite was nice. I wish it had a 110 outlet along with the 30 AMP.The bathroom was clean but normal outside bugs. The shower did not seem to hold up the warm water or the water pressure if someone else was showing in the men's room. There was wifi, but if too many people connected, it would kick you off.The view of the mountain was amazing though.

Jan 23, 2025 · Josiah ShelnuttThis is a nice campground . I can only stay one month but the campground is beautiful. The neighbors that I have talked with have been very friendly. No loud noise at night, people actually show respect for each other. The lots are a decent size. I even had space to put up an exercise pen for my furry children. The lady in the office was very friendly at check in and remained that way until one of my Yorkies climbed out of his 4 ft tall play area. Her mood and attitude suddenly changed after that. I took 4 of the fur children out on their leashes for a walk and saw other fur babies tied outside. It was a major crime for mine to escape but OK for others to tie them outside. I know that mine escaping was not OK and I do try hard to keep an eye on him. The place is still beautiful, but a little attitude adjustment would be good. The lady hasn't spoken to me since my fur baby climbed the fence.... and yes I did apologize for him acting like a cat.
May 14, 2023 · Terri MangrumCell signal is bad and the cozy makes up for it though. We have been to a lot of RV Parks across the country. We have one other favorite which is Tanglewood in North Carolina. This has now become our other favorite. The only complaint is that the cell signal is poor. What do you expect in all this beauty? The campground does have Wi-Fi which makes it doable. The owners are very nice and work to keep the property relatively natural in state. It feels like real camping.
