Ken-Do Lake Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" with a potential emphasis on fishing, Ken-Do Lake Campground, located at 9230 Heaton Rd, Clarks Hill, IN 47930, USA, presents itself as a local option. Based on the limited customer reviews available, experiences at Ken-Do Lake Campground appear to be somewhat polarized, with one reviewer expressing significant dissatisfaction with the fishing and operational aspects, while another offers a glowing recommendation.
The environment of Ken-Do Lake Campground is centered around its namesake lake, which is clearly intended to be a primary feature for fishing enthusiasts. One reviewer explicitly states it's a "Great place to fish," suggesting that, for some, the lake offers a positive angling experience. However, the contrasting review paints a very different picture, with the customer claiming they "didn't catch nothing for the second time" and expressing strong doubt about the presence of fish in the lake, even sarcastically suggesting that the only thing to be caught is "a pound of moss every time you reel in." This significant discrepancy makes it difficult to objectively assess the quality of the fishing environment without further information or a broader range of reviews.
In terms of services, one positive aspect highlighted is the "Very friendly and caring staff." This suggests that the campground aims to provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for its visitors. The presence of a "bait shop" is also mentioned by the negative reviewer, indicating that the campground does offer supplies for fishing, although the reviewer's experience with its opening hours was negative. The negative review also points to potential issues with the campground's operational services, stating, "You never know when there open when they tell you there open and go there you have to wait to get in they are supposed to be open at 8am and nobody opened the gate until 10am and no one got to the bait shop until 10:10am." This account raises concerns about the reliability of the stated opening hours and the accessibility of essential services like the bait shop.
The primary feature of Ken-Do Lake Campground appears to be the lake itself, intended for fishing. The availability of a bait shop on-site further supports this focus. The positive review suggests that for some, the fishing is a great experience. However, the strongly negative review directly contradicts this, claiming a lack of fish. The discrepancy could be due to various factors, such as fishing conditions on the specific days of the visits, the skill level or techniques used by the anglers, or potentially inconsistent fish stocking in the lake. Without more information, it's impossible to definitively determine the quality of the fishing as a feature of this campground.
Other potential features of a campground, such as campsites, restroom facilities, recreational areas beyond fishing, or the general ambiance of the camping area, are not mentioned in the provided reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to provide an objective assessment of these aspects of Ken-Do Lake Campground based solely on this information.
Promotional information is also absent from the provided reviews. There are no mentions of special offers, unique amenities beyond the lake and bait shop, or any marketing efforts to attract local users. The stark contrast in the two reviews might suggest that potential visitors should seek more information or recent feedback from a wider range of sources before making a decision to camp or fish at Ken-Do Lake Campground.
In conclusion, Ken-Do Lake Campground in Clarks Hill, IN, appears to be centered around its lake and fishing opportunities, supported by a bait shop and reportedly friendly staff. However, there is a significant conflict in the limited customer feedback regarding the quality of the fishing and the reliability of the campground's operational hours, specifically the opening time and the availability of the bait shop. One reviewer had a very negative experience, claiming a lack of fish and issues with opening times, while another found it to be a "Great place to fish." Potential local users searching for "camping near me" with a focus on fishing should be aware of these contrasting views. Given the limited and conflicting information, it would be advisable to contact Ken-Do Lake Campground directly at (765) 523-2744 or +1 765-523-2744 to inquire about the current fishing conditions, operational hours, and the availability of other camping amenities to form a more comprehensive understanding before planning a visit. It might also be beneficial to seek out additional, more recent reviews from other sources to gain a broader perspective on the overall experience at Ken-Do Lake Campground.

Ken-Do Lake Campground Reviews
If I could give them no stars I would went today and didn't catch nothing for the second time I'm pretty convinced that me my step mom and fiance that there are no fish in this damn lake. You never know when there open when they tell you there open and go there you have to wait to get in they are supposed to be open at 8am and nobody opened the gate until 10am and no one got to the bait shop until 10:10am. So for who ever wants to come out here to Ken Do Lake you better call the liars because this lake has no dame fish unless you want to pull in a pound of moss every time you reel in so at least you'll catch something.

May 13, 2023 · Lindsay HewittNice place to fish and relax needs some cleaning up and bathrooms definitely need cleaned but all on all its a good place alittle off that you can't bass fish or catch crappie . So I wouldn't waste my time if you don't want to just catfish
Jun 29, 2021 · That bearded bastardNice lake but definitely needs cleaned up asap and the 2 pole minimum is kinda crazy and the other rules are alittle wierd as well just let people catch fish and have a good time
Aug 28, 2021 · Twitch MinorWe have always enjoyed going there. But they need to take better care of the place. Needs mowed and the pond needs stocked. And it's starting to look like a junk yard.
