Kintla Lake Reviews
Down a long, one lane, dusty dirt road through forest and meadow, lies a lake near the most remote corner of GNP, and it is pretty! The campground was full yet quiet, except near the lake, and the restrooms were surprisingly pleasant. The water was clear and cold, and the lake bed was covered in pebbles that were great for skipping on the glassy surface!
Aug 21, 2022 · Brian BakerBeautiful, peaceful, and an adventure getting there. What’s not to love? The lake is blue and pretty clear. The vast majority of the tourists don’t make it this far. The road is a very rough gravel road that will beat your vehicle to death but it was worth it. A 4x4 is nice but not needed. I thought having some ground clearance was an absolute but saw a minivan and a few small cars up there so it can be done. The campground is remote and small but perfect in that it’s in such a peaceful place. I hate to tell people how beautiful it is because you do t want it to get busy and touristy. Also visit Polebridge and the little store Polebridge Mercantile before heading to the lake. It has a very cool vibe and the local snacks are made in the community right next door with local ingredients.
Mar 14, 2021 · Stephanie StewartThis one of the most pristine lakes I have ever seen or stepped foot in. Kintla Lake is well worth the 15 mile dirt road drive. The drive is pretty scenic and an adventure through meadows and evergreen forests with a mountain backdrop.. I would recommend Kintla Lake over Bowman Lake. It is more secluded and less crowded. The view is also better. I visited in August 2021.
Jan 07, 2022 · Paul WarnerVery beautiful and remote. Limited parking available so get here early. We had to wait for 30 minutes until someone left. Great place to get away from the huge crowds of Apgar village. It is a slow going, long drive and one lane road. One camper said they caught a few lake trout.
Jul 19, 2019 · Scott MetcalfeBeautiful lake way out of the way of the hustle and bustle at lake McDonald. Road in is long and gravel with plenty of potholes but manageable. Hike along side the lake is level with minor ups and downs. Views are wonderful, with little to no other people around. But as previous people have said there isn't much parking. I'd highly recommend for the lake, hike, and adventure to get here.
