Lake Shore Introduce
Welcome to Lake Shore, a charming destination for those seeking "camping near me" with direct access to the refreshing waters of Oklahoma. Located at 1444 State Hwy 82, Salina, OK 74365, USA, Lake Shore offers a welcoming environment for a variety of outdoor activities, from a quick swim to a more extended camping and fishing getaway. While the provided information is based on a couple of enthusiastic reviews, we can glean valuable insights into the environment, potential services, and appealing features of this lakeside location.
Environment: Lakeside Beauty and Natural Enjoyment
The primary environmental draw of Lake Shore is undoubtedly its access to "amazing water." One reviewer who visited for a swim was clearly impressed by the quality of the water. The fact that they chose to simply "pull up under a tree and swam" suggests easy and informal access to the lake. The presence of trees indicates potential for shade, enhancing the comfort of the area, especially during warmer months. The mention of seeing "so many fish" while swimming highlights the natural richness of the lake's ecosystem, promising potential for fishing enthusiasts.
The availability of "two picnic tables" for a small group further suggests that Lake Shore provides areas for visitors to relax, enjoy meals outdoors, and take in the lakeside scenery. The presence of a "metal fire pit" hints at the possibility of campfires, which would be a significant feature for those considering an overnight stay or simply wanting to enjoy an evening by the fire.
From a historical perspective shared by another reviewer, Lake Shore has been a place for family outings for many years, initially as a picnic spot. This long-standing connection to recreation underscores the natural appeal of the location and the joy it has brought to visitors over time. The reviewer's positive reaction to the expansion of amenities suggests that while retaining its natural charm, Lake Shore has also evolved to offer more for its visitors.
Services and Amenities: Catering to Day Visitors and Campers
Based on the reviews, Lake Shore offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The "guy at the front" was described as "so kind," indicating a positive initial interaction for visitors. The fact that a couple could swim for just $10 suggests a reasonable fee structure for day use, focused on enjoying the water access.
The provision of picnic tables and a metal fire pit indicates basic amenities that support both day visitors and potential campers. The historical mention of an expansion of amenities by a returning visitor suggests that Lake Shore likely offers more than just these basics now. This could include designated camping areas, possibly with varying levels of hookups if RV camping is accommodated (though this is not explicitly stated in the provided information). Other potential amenities could include restroom facilities, and possibly areas for launching boats if lake access is a primary feature.

The availability of picnic tables makes it an ideal spot for family outings and enjoying meals in a scenic setting. The presence of a fire pit opens up possibilities for evening gatherings and potentially overnight camping.
The enthusiastic reviewer who went for a swim mentioned their intention to return with "camping and fishing gear in hand," clearly indicating that Lake Shore is considered a place suitable for both these activities. The historical context of family picnics further emphasizes its appeal as a place for outdoor gatherings and enjoying the natural surroundings.
Given its lakeside location in Oklahoma, it's reasonable to assume that other water-related activities might also be possible, such as boating or kayaking, although these are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Lake Shore Reviews
The guy at the front was so kind! The water was amazing! Me and my fiance pulled up under a tree and swam for just $10, we had two picnic tables to set at and a metal fire pit. When we were in the water we saw so many fish! A bass was chasing minos around us the entire time we were swimming. Definitely coming back with camping and fishing gear in hand!
Aug 05, 2024 · Callie AndrewsThis place at one time was owned by my uncle Vernon. Our family would go over for picnics many, many years ago. I'm so glad theirs been an expansion of all the amenities. It brings me heart joy to see it is still being utilized.By Debi Thompson-Liccketto

Oct 26, 2023 · Curious ExcitementI stayed there on May 24th, 2020, the Sunday immediately before Memorial Day. This is an awesome campground, plain and simple. I was on a 3 day weekend motorcycle trip and decided to camp here for the night before riding back home on Monday, Memorial Day. For tent camping the charge is $10 per person, per night. They didn't charge a "minimum stay" like so many other campgrounds do over a weekend or, especially, a holiday weekend. The grounds were well cared for, clean, and neat. The campground hosts and other campers were very friendly. While the campground is right off of a two lane road there isn't a lot of noise from the traffic, not a distraction to me at all. The tent camping areas are very near the water. I could have easily thrown a rock into the nearby lake if I would have wanted to. I didn't need to do any laundry so I don't know about the laundry facilities, or if they have any, but the one restroom I went in seemed to be well taken care of, too. It was only a single toilet stall and a shower, one beside the other, but it did the trick for me in the morning. The only bit of advice about this campground is the entrance. It is well kept and black topped but it does slope downward when you turn off of the main roadway. I made it down into the campground and back out again on a Honda Goldwing motorcycle so you shouldn't have any problem with a truck/trailer/rv/motorhome, or another motorcycle. Great place. Go!
