Look no further than Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort, located at 4239 W A Barr Rd, Mt Shasta, CA 96067, USA. Based on recent customer feedback, this resort offers a blend of natural beauty, family-friendly amenities, and excellent opportunities for fishing and lake-based activities. While some considerations regarding nighttime noise levels have been mentioned, the overall appeal of this lakeside destination makes it a strong contender for your next local camping getaway.
A Beautiful Lakeside Environment with Scenic Views
Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort is situated on the shores of the picturesque Lake Siskiyou, a prominent recreational lake in Northern California. The environment is characterized by the sparkling waters of the lake and the majestic backdrop of Mount Shasta, creating stunning scenic views that campers can enjoy from their campsites and throughout the resort. The natural beauty of the area provides a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for escaping the everyday hustle and bustle.
The lake itself is a significant feature, offering opportunities for various water-based activities. One enthusiastic angler described it as an "AWSOME place to camp and fish!" highlighting the successful catching of multiple spotted bass. For those interested in trout fishing, the area where the Sacramento River flows into the lake (the top end) is recommended, accessible by walking or boating, with drift fishing using worms under bobbers suggested as a productive technique.
The campsites at Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort are described as "nice and not too crammed together," suggesting a sense of space and privacy that enhances the camping experience. This layout allows families and groups to enjoy their time outdoors without feeling overcrowded.
Family-Friendly Atmosphere and Daytime Activities
One reviewer noted the "fun place" and appreciated the "family atmosphere (during the day)." This indicates that Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort is geared towards families, offering a welcoming environment for children and adults to enjoy their time together. While specific daytime activities aren't detailed in the provided reviews, a lakeside location typically lends itself to activities such as swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and simply relaxing by the water.
The proximity to Lake Siskiyou also suggests the possibility of boating and other water sports, further adding to the recreational opportunities available to campers. Whether you prefer a leisurely paddle on the lake or the thrill of a motorboat, Lake Siskiyou likely caters to various preferences.
Considerations Regarding Nighttime Noise Levels
It's important to note a concern raised by one reviewer regarding nighttime noise levels. They mentioned that "music past curfew and screaming/howling from multiple campgrounds seem to be the normal behavior here," despite the cost of camping. This individual, who doesn't typically worry about noise, found it to be "at a whole other level" and a hindrance to putting children to bed. This feedback suggests that local users seeking a quiet and peaceful night's sleep should be aware of this potential issue and perhaps inquire about noise enforcement policies when booking.

Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort Reviews
AWSOME place to camp and fish! I was there in June and caught multiple spotted bass in the 1-2lb. zone with jerk baits. If you are more interested in trout then I would suggest either walking or boating to the top of the lake where the Sacramento River flows in and drift worms under bobbers.Good luck and good fishing!🎣🎣
Feb 04, 2025 · Rowan WarrenThis is a fun place and I like the family atmosphere (during the day). The campsites are nice and not too crammed together. However, for the price it costs to camp, there should at least be some curfew rules enforced. Music past curfew and screaming/howling from multiple campgrounds seem to be the normal behavior here. I am not the type to worry about noise, but it is at a whole other level here 😬. It's a hard place to put kids to bed. Just beware if you're not into that sort of thing
Aug 04, 2024 · Anna BlissWe camped on our way to California. I don't get how people rate this place so badly. It was wonderful IMO. It's a campground with lots of kids, bicycles, lots of people I mean a lot but to me it seems to be taken care of to allow it to continue to run. The hollowing was when quiet time was happening. After that everyone got quiet. Every guest we met was friendly and excited to be camping. We wished we would have gotten to stay few days longer. Cool place. I'll be back with my friends and family.
Aug 14, 2024 · m dVery dusty in the RV campsites. When I backed into our site, or trailer left impressions over an inch deep - in very fine, dry dust! Every time someone drives past our even walked around, there was a could of dust!Other than that, it has great amenities in the small store and attached restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful. The prices for many of the rental and other items are a bit high, but probably what one should expect for a "resort" with the closest town a bit of a drive away.My in-laws came over an hour drive with our group but decided not to stay because their "handicap-accessible" cabin had a series of stairs to get in and had only a futon-style bed or bunk beds to sleep on! We had two other elderly couples in our group that left after the first of three nights planned for our stay. We will really have to reconsider our plans for next time! The area is beautiful and is very relaxing once you get set up and figure out how to minimize the impact of all the dust. I have been coming to this area for nearly 45 years to cut Christmas trees, hunt, fish and camp, so I am always excited to get back up here.
Jul 10, 2024 · Andrew ParadisIt was rainy when I was there but the staff were nice and the location was nice good view of mount Shasta as well.
