Lake Wedington Campground Introduce
For local residents seeking a picturesque and activity-filled 'camping near me' destination, Lake Wedington Campground, located at 15592 Lake Wedington Entry Rd, Fayetteville, AR 72704, USA, presents an exceptional opportunity. Situated in the scenic northwest region of Arkansas, near Fayetteville, Lake Wedington is known for its natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and tranquil atmosphere. The campground serves as an ideal base for exploring the lake and its surrounding trails, offering a variety of experiences for different types of outdoor enthusiasts.
Based on recent customer reviews, Lake Wedington Campground offers a compelling blend of natural attractions and convenient amenities. One visitor, who came for a mountain bike ride with their wife, described the location as "very beautiful and very scenic." This highlights the aesthetic appeal of the area, likely characterized by the lake itself, surrounding woodlands, and the rolling terrain of the Ozark foothills. The reviewer also noted the pleasant surprise of discovering "rustic cabins to rent in addition to their standard camping," providing an alternative lodging option for those who might prefer a bit more structure than tent camping.
The presence of Lake Wedington is a central feature of the campground and its surroundings. The reviewer mentioned that "the lake was full" during their visit, resulting in an "amazingly flowing" waterfall. This suggests that the lake is a significant water body that not only enhances the scenery but also supports a waterfall, likely fed by the lake's overflow or a connected stream. The availability of a "small boat ramp" further indicates that lake activities such as boating and possibly fishing are accessible to visitors, adding to the recreational appeal of the area.
For those who enjoy exploring on foot or by bike, Lake Wedington Campground appears to be well-suited. The reviewer praised the "trail" they used for mountain biking as being in "amazing shape." They also noted that despite heavy rain the day before, the trail was "dry enough and just perfectly tacky," ideal conditions for biking. This suggests that the trails around Lake Wedington are well-maintained and offer enjoyable experiences for both hikers and mountain bikers. Another reviewer specifically mentioned "a beautiful trail around the lake," indicating a scenic route perfect for leisurely walks or more active hikes with the family.
Families with young children seem to particularly appreciate the campground. One reviewer stated that their "wife and two young children really enjoyed camping here," highlighting its suitability for family outings. They described it as a "quiet campground" with "large tent pads," suggesting comfortable and spacious sites for tent campers. The reviewer also commended the staff as "very friendly," which is a crucial aspect of a positive camping experience, contributing to a welcoming and helpful atmosphere. The close proximity of the lake, being "just a few steps away" from the campsites, is another significant advantage, allowing easy access for water-related activities or simply enjoying the lakeside views.
While the overall experience seems highly positive, one reviewer mentioned a couple of areas for potential improvement. They noted that the "park needed some help in the mowing department," suggesting that while the natural beauty is abundant, some areas might benefit from better groundskeeping. Additionally, they mentioned riding up to a gazebo where "the view was blocked by brush and saplings," indicating that some scenic viewpoints might be partially obstructed by vegetation. These points, however, did not detract significantly from their overall enjoyment, as they expressed a strong intention to make more trips once the park is "open completely."
It's important to note a temporary situation mentioned in one review: "This place was open to the public for use but the facilities were closed due to COVID-19 still so couldn't try it all." While this review might be from a specific period during the pandemic, local users planning a visit should be aware that it's always a good idea to check the current status of facilities (restrooms, showers, water spigots, etc.) by contacting the campground directly, especially if there are ongoing public health concerns or seasonal closures.

Lake Wedington Campground Reviews
This place was open to the public for use but the facilities were closed due to COVID-19 still so couldn't try it all. Came for a mountain bike ride with my wife and it didn't disappoint! Very beautiful and very scenic place to visit. We were surprised to find out they actually have rustic cabins to rent in addition to their standard camping. The lake was full when we visited so the waterfall was flowing amazingly! The trail was in amazing shape as well and despite having a heavy rain the day before it was dry enough and just perfectly tacky. I would have given it 5 stars but the park needed some help in the mowing department. We also rodebup to the gazebo but the view was blocked by brush and saplings. I'm definitely going to make more trips to this place once the park is open completely. I might even buy a boat so I can make use of their small boat ramp. Super fun place to visit! Highly recommend it.
