You can reach them at (507) 847-2525 or +1 507-847-2525 for inquiries and reservations.
The environment surrounding Loon Lake Campground is a significant draw, with reviewers consistently mentioning the "beautiful lake view." The campground's proximity to Loon Lake offers opportunities for enjoying the waterfront scenery and potentially engaging in lake-related activities. One long-time visitor expressed their love for the location and the lake view, highlighting its appeal as a place to "kick back and relax."
Based on customer reviews, Loon Lake Campground offers distinct areas for RVs and tents, catering to different camping preferences. The reviewer at what they referred to as "Robertson's campground" (potentially another name or a specific section within the Loon Lake area, as it's mentioned in the context of the other review about Loon Lake) noted the presence of mature trees, particularly "big oaks" providing ample shade. This suggests that at least some areas of the camping grounds benefit from significant tree cover, which can be especially desirable during warmer months. The reviewer also highlighted "fabulous lake views and great sunsets," indicating the scenic beauty that campers can enjoy.
Wildlife enthusiasts may also find Loon Lake appealing, as the reviewer observed a large number of "white pelicans on the lake," with "50+ at least" congregating on a sandbar in the mornings and evenings. This provides a unique opportunity for birdwatching and enjoying the local fauna.
In terms of services and amenities, the review provides specific details about the RV camping area:
- Separate RV Sites: Dedicated campsites for recreational vehicles.
- 50 Amp Service: Each RV site is equipped with 50 amp electrical hookups, catering to the power needs of modern RVs.
- Water Hookups: Water connections are available at each RV site, providing convenience for water usage within the RV.
- Central Bathroom Building: A "decent central bathroom building" is accessible to RV campers, suggesting the availability of toilets and possibly showers.
- Dump Station: A wastewater dump station is conveniently located near the entrance for RVers to empty their holding tanks.
- Fish Cleaning House: A dedicated facility for cleaning fish is available, which is a significant amenity for those planning to fish in Loon Lake.
A point of consideration raised by one reviewer is the issue of noise from ATVs running through the campgrounds "at all hours of the day and night." This noise was significant enough to detract from their relaxation, leading them to rate their experience lower than they otherwise would have due to the location and lake view. This is an important factor for potential campers seeking a peaceful and quiet environment to be aware of.
Regarding accessibility for larger RVs, the reviewer with a 34' fifth-wheel trailer mentioned that they were able to fit into site #10 "with no trouble" and noted that "there are other sites that could accommodate us as well." However, they also cautioned that "some sites would be a bit tight or short for big rigs," suggesting that those with larger RVs should inquire specifically about suitable site availability when making reservations.
The campground's proximity to the road is mentioned, but the reviewer noted that the road is "very lightly traveled (1 car every 20 minutes, typically)," indicating that road noise is generally not a significant concern.

It provides separate camping areas for RVs and tents, with specific amenities for RVers including 50 amp service, water hookups, a central bathroom building, a dump station, and a fish cleaning house. The presence of mature trees in at least one section offers shade, and the lake attracts a variety of wildlife, including a large number of white pelicans. Potential campers should be aware of the reported issue of ATV noise within the campground, which may impact the tranquility of the experience. It is advisable to contact the campground directly for information on site availability, especially for larger RVs, and to inquire about any current promotions or specific amenities for tent campers.

Loon Lake Campground Reviews
We have been coming here for several years and absolutely love the location and beautiful lake view. We come here to hopefully to kick back and relax - which is why i rated this a two star instead of a five star. It isn't as relaxing as we'd like due to the atvs that run through the campgrounds at all hours of the day and night. They are loud and a nuisance.
Mar 08, 2025 · Shalee NelsonWe are at Robertson's campground and loving it here. The host tells us it is the only 1 of the 3 parks here that has trees. And boy does it have trees. Big oaks are thick here and it's mid Sept, so acorns are bouncing off our camper roof. 😄Very shady, fabulous lake views and great sunsets. There are so many white pelicans on the lake. A sand bar out in the middle is just loaded with them in the morning and evening. 50+ at least. There are separate campgrounds for RVs and tents. Each RV site has 50 amp and water, with a decent central bathroom building. A dump station is located near the entrance, along with a fish cleaning house. Nice! The grounds are very close to the road, but it is very lightly traveled, (1 car every 20 minutes, typically) so not noisy at all.We certainly recommend this spot. Some sites would be a bit tight or short for big rigs, but we got our 34' 5er into site #10 with no trouble, there are other sites that could accommodate us as well. See our pix from #10.
