Seeking a "camping near me" experience that brings you close to the water? Consider Lotterdale Cove, located at 17177 East Coast Tellico Pkwy, Greenback, TN 37742, USA. This campground offers a lakeside setting that many outdoor enthusiasts find appealing. When searching within the "camping near me" category, a lakeside campground can provide a unique opportunity for water-based activities and scenic views. Lotterdale Cove positions itself as such a destination, promising a stay right on the shores of a lake.
As a "camping near me" option, Lotterdale Cove caters to those who enjoy the ambiance and recreational opportunities that come with being near a body of water. Whether you're interested in fishing, swimming, or simply enjoying the waterfront scenery, a lakeside campground can be an attractive choice. Based on a customer review, a stay at Lotterdale Cove offered a "great stay on the lake," further emphasizing its lakeside appeal. This suggests that the primary draw of this campground is its location and the access it provides to the water.
The Environment: Lakeside Beauty in Greenback, Tennessee
Lotterdale Cove's location in Greenback, Tennessee, on the East Coast Tellico Parkway, strongly suggests that its environment is centered around Tellico Lake. Lakes in this region of Tennessee are often known for their scenic beauty, offering opportunities for various water activities and picturesque views of the surrounding landscape. One reviewer mentioned having a "great stay on the lake" and even witnessing "the brightest rainbow I've ever seen!!!," highlighting the natural beauty that can be experienced at this location. The presence of a beach area, as mentioned by another reviewer, further supports the idea of a lakeside environment where guests can relax and enjoy the water's edge. The playground also indicates that the environment is family-friendly, catering to those with children.
However, it's important to also consider the feedback regarding the lack of reliable internet. One reviewer explicitly stated, "#1 NO internet. Dont believe them when they say they have it. We tried to connect repeatedly throughout our stay with no luck." This suggests that while the natural environment, particularly the lake, may be a strong positive, connectivity might be an issue for some visitors. When choosing "camping near me," the environment includes not just the natural surroundings but also the availability of services like internet, which can be important for many travelers.
Services and Amenities: A Mixed Perspective
Based on the customer reviews, the services and amenities at Lotterdale Cove present a mixed picture. On the positive side, there is a "beach area and playground," which are valuable amenities, especially for families with children. The presence of a "great pavilion" is also noted, which could serve as a gathering space for events or provide shade and shelter for campers. Additionally, there seems to be a permanent guest who sells wood on-site, which is a convenient service for those wanting to have campfires or make s'mores, especially for late arrivals.
However, a significant concern raised by a reviewer is the lack of reliable internet access. They explicitly warned not to believe claims of internet availability, stating they were unable to connect throughout their stay. This is a crucial point for potential guests who rely on internet for work, communication, or entertainment. Another area of concern highlighted was the pricing and selection at the market. The reviewer described the market as "EXTREMELY overpriced," citing an example of a simple floaty costing $10. They also noted a limited selection of potentially needed items, with the nearest Walmart being a 30-minute drive away. This suggests that guests should plan to bring essential supplies with them.
The reviewer also offered suggestions for improvement, such as adding adult games like cornhole for rent, organizing movie nights or live music at the pavilion, and better advertising the availability of firewood. These suggestions indicate that while the basic infrastructure might be in place, there could be enhancements to the overall guest experience.
To get the most up-to-date information on the services and amenities, contacting Lotterdale Cove directly using the provided phone numbers, (865) 856-7284 or +1 865-856-7284, is recommended. You can inquire about the current status of internet connectivity, the offerings at the market, and any other services available.

- Beach Area and Playground: Amenities catering to families with children.

- On-site Firewood Sales: Convenience for campers wanting campfires.
However, potential drawbacks to consider include:

These features paint a picture of a campground with a desirable natural setting but with potential shortcomings in certain service areas. Lotterdale Cove Reviews
We had a great stay on the lake and saw the brightest rainbow I've ever seen!!!
Apr 08, 2025 · Bill CettaThis campground could be amazing, but they've dropped the ball on a few important areas. #1 NO internet. Dont believe them when they say they have it. We tried to connect repeatedly throughout our stay with no luck. We ended up using up all of our data, which was extremely annoying in this day and age. Internet is no longer a luxury, Its 's a necessity. #2, you better be sure you bring your own sand toys because the market is EXTREMELY overpriced. They gouge the guests and charge $10 for a simple floaty from the dollar store. With the space they have, I would fill that store up with 'reasonably' priced merchandise but there's barely anything of what you might need and Walmart is 30 minutes away, so plan ahead! The beach area and playground are nice, but what about some adult games? Some cornhole maybe that guests can rent for a reasonable charge? They have a great pavilion. Why not have a movie night or band play? I'm sure there's plenty of bands who would play for next to nothing. Also, they apparently have a permanent guest who sells wood on site. Why not advertise that for guests who arrive after 5? We had several kids with us who cried at the thought of no smores. All in all, this place is ok, but again, no internet is a deal breaker for us.
Oct 10, 2024 · Danielle WebsterLotterdale Cove campground has been my favorite lakeside campground for a while, but yesterday's actions from management merit this review.I am prospecting land in the general area and was not quite sure of where my next listing viewing would be. This led me to miss the 5 PM office time cut off and no where to camp for the night.Kelly, who manages the park, was having dinner in Knoxville, when I aprised her of my predicament. Can you believe she dropped her fork and drove all the way out here to make sure I was accommodated and taken cared of?I haven't experienced this 'above and beyond' service in any of the campgrounds I have visited thus far.Thank you Kelly, you made sure my puppy and I could stay at our favorite campground, even after hours. Stellar service.
Aug 29, 2024 · BobbyDon't get me wrong, this place is beautiful, HOWEVER, there's little septic hookups, and over 80% is full time so they get all the spaces with it. You're only allowed 2 vehicles which includes your water sports so if you have a boat you can only have one car. If you're bringing boats or jet skis 🤞🏻 you get a skid because the majority is for the full timers. Also no alcohol is allowed here...
Aug 05, 2024 · Mandy BakerWe booked a trip the day they opened with some friends at lotterdale cove. All our sites were booked next to each other. I received an email confirmation. Fast forward to the day before our arrival I called to see if we could come out earlier than check in. The lady told me that we were no longer in the site we booked and we're now over by a playground not on the water. We were given no notification or email stating the campsite change. She kept blaming and apologizing for "the system" they have that made the change. ITS YOUR BUSINESS, CHANGE THE SYSTEM!! She said we couldn't get a refund because it was past their 14 day cancellation policy. I said , but I didn't receive an email regarding the site change before the cancellation period. She said, I wish "the system" would have that..... I will never camp at lotterdale cove again and I will definitely be telling everyone about the way they conduct "their system"!
