Malibu Campground Introduce
For local families and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a reliable and long-loved "camping near me" experience in the Logan area, Malibu Campground offers a rich history and a range of appealing features. With a tradition spanning over 35 years for some families, this campground, located in Logan, UT 84341, has clearly established itself as a favored destination. Combining natural beauty with convenient amenities and a welcoming atmosphere, Malibu Campground provides a setting for creating lasting outdoor memories. Its proximity to Logan also offers the advantage of quick access to town for any forgotten necessities.
Abundant Shade and Recreational Space: One of the standout characteristics of Malibu Campground is its "plentiful shade." This is a significant advantage, particularly during the warmer months, offering a cool and comfortable environment for campers to relax and enjoy their surroundings. In addition to the shaded campsites, the campground boasts a "meadow big enough for lawn games, even a softball field." This expansive open space provides ample room for various recreational activities, making it an ideal location for families and groups looking to engage in outdoor fun. The presence of a softball field suggests the potential for organized games and adds to the campground's appeal for those seeking active recreation.
Direct Access to the Logan River and Swimming Hole: A major draw of Malibu Campground is its direct access to the "Logan River." The presence of the river not only enhances the natural beauty of the campground but also provides opportunities for cooling off and enjoying the water. Notably, there's a "little swimming hole to jump into for a refreshing break from the heat." This natural swimming spot offers a fun and convenient way for campers of all ages to escape the summer heat and enjoy the pristine waters of the Logan River. The river also provides opportunities for wading and simply enjoying the soothing sounds of flowing water.
Welcoming Hosts and Maintained Facilities: Positive feedback highlights the quality of the campground hosts. One reviewer specifically mentioned that "the hosts this year were amazing," noting that they "stopped in to check in on us, ensuring we were happy with the accommodations." This level of attentive service contributes significantly to a positive camping experience, making guests feel welcome and cared for. Furthermore, the availability of "restrooms (flushable) that were cleaned and stocked everyday" is a significant convenience and reflects a commitment to maintaining a comfortable environment for campers. While another reviewer noted that the "plumed restrooms...were a little on the worn down side," the consensus indicates the presence of flush toilets, a desirable amenity for many.
Convenient Proximity to Logan: Another practical advantage of Malibu Campground is its location "only being ~5 miles up the canyon from the eastern edge of Logan." This close proximity to town offers the convenience of quick runs to Logan for groceries, supplies, or any other necessities that may have been forgotten. This accessibility balances the feeling of being in a natural outdoor setting with the reassurance of nearby urban amenities, making it a convenient choice within the "camping near me" category.
Potential Drawback: Highway Noise: The primary con mentioned by multiple reviewers is the campground's proximity to the highway. One reviewer noted, "it's also right next to the highway. There's inconsiderate people that feel the need to honk as they drive by." Another mentioned being in "group Campsite 1...all of 100 feet from the road, and the cars were plentiful throughout the night and not terribly quiet." While some visitors are less bothered by the noise, particularly heavy sleepers, it is an important factor to consider, especially for those sensitive to traffic sounds. Choosing a campsite further away from the road, if available, might help mitigate this issue.

Malibu Campground Reviews
My family has been coming here once a year for the past 35+ years. The shade is plentiful, but there's also a meadow big enough for lawn games, even a softball field. The hosts this year were amazing. They stopped in to check in on us, enduring we were happy with the accommodations. The restrooms (flushable) were cleaned and stocked everyday.Close to the Logan River, with a little swimming hole to jump into for a refreshing break from the heat. The only con - it's also right next to the highway. There's inconsiderate people that feel the need to honk as they drive by. It doesn't bother us enough to worry about though.
Jul 20, 2021 · Tony DuerschAmmenities were good. They had plumed restrooms that were a little on the worn down side, but it is camping. I did not see showers. The Logan River runs through the campground, so a wonderful place to cool off if you want to wade. Thhere was a lot of shade. The mains drawback for us was being in group Campsite 1, we were all of 100 feet from the road, and the cars were plentiful throughout the night and not terribly quiet. If you are a heavy sleeper, nice campfround. Plus, only being ~5 miles up the canyon from the eastern edge of Logan makes for quick runs to town if you forgot something.
Jul 31, 2018 · Clark KnudsenNice shady campground. Group site B is next to the highway 🛣 so it's a little noisy, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Other than that, it's a really great spot for large groups. It had a lot of sticks on the ground-almost impossible to get rid of all them, so if you are staying in a tent I suggest a groundcloth.
Sep 17, 2018 · SnailMailMikeNice shady spots, nearby trails, and river access. Great views. The only downside is the proximity to the highway. It is really loud in the spots closest to the road. Some spots have hookups now, and the group areas are huge.
Jul 19, 2020 · Amanda JamesIt's funny from year to year how the camp host changes and the amount of time you're allowed to park your extra car at your campsite changes. Even though you're allowed to have eight people you're only allowed one car. I don't know very many people who have cars that will fit 8 people so plan to pay the extra $7 per car unless you want to park your car out on the open highway overnight. The camp host was gruff and rude. Pounced on everyone when they first pulled into the campsite for the $7 for the extra car. You had to quickly dump everything out of your car onto the campsite and get it out of the campground. You couldn't even set your campsite up or your tent before you had to move your car. The water was really high this year so the kids couldn't get in and play which hindered having as much fun at this campsite. Also there was a lot of standing water around with mosquitoes.
