Being just 8.5 miles up Logan Canyon translates to easy access for local residents seeking a quick weekend getaway or a longer outdoor adventure. Furthermore, a nearby grocery store (Smiths, approximately a 13-minute drive away) ensures that stocking up on supplies is hassle-free. Potential Wildlife Encounters: For those who appreciate the raw beauty of nature, Preston Valley offers the possibility of wildlife sightings. As noted by a previous visitor, there have been signs of larger animals in the area, such as large cat tracks observed in the fall. While this adds an element of natural excitement, it also underscores the importance of responsible camping practices, particularly regarding pets. It is advisable to keep dogs leashed and under close supervision to ensure their safety and the well-being of the local wildlife.
Focus on the Experience: Based on visitor feedback, the primary draw of Preston Valley Campground is its natural setting and proximity to the Logan River. The opportunity to camp so close to the river provides a unique and enjoyable experience, allowing for activities such as fishing, wading, or simply relaxing by the water's edge. The "camping near me" platform aims to connect local users with such enriching outdoor experiences, and Preston Valley Campground perfectly embodies this by offering a chance to escape the everyday and reconnect with nature.
Addressing Minor Drawbacks: It's important to provide a balanced perspective, and some visitors have mentioned noise from the passing cars on the nearby highway. While this is a factor to consider, many campers have indicated that it is not a "deal breaker" and that the overall positive aspects of the campground outweigh this minor inconvenience. Choosing a campsite further away from the road might help mitigate some of the noise. The beauty of the location and the proximity to the river often help campers overlook this aspect.

Preston Valley Campground Reviews
Preston Valley is approximately 8.5 miles up Logan Canyon. The highway can be a little annoying (noise). Definitely not a deal breaker. The beautiful Logan River is right there. Last fall I did see a large kitty track in the CG. I just would not let your dogs roam free. Great place to RV or car camp.
Jan 02, 2024 · BartPretty campground, about 13 minute drive away from smiths grocery store. Nice if in need of getting supplies real quick. The only bad part about the campground was the noise from passing cars on the road. Other then that it was a great spot to camp and be by the river. This was campground number 2.
Jun 24, 2022 · Quade GoveCool little campground, literally right off the side of the road. Campsites right next to the little stream. Awesome scenery of the canyon, some hiking as well. Awesome little spot, and only like 10 minutes from Logan. Pretty cool.
May 10, 2018 · Jeremy Meekswe stayed in campground 3, the view was gorgeous and it was right by the river. only downsides were the water wasn’t working and it’s close to a busy road but the river drowned out most of the noise
Jun 28, 2023 · Myckaela HammonThe campground is really pretty with plenty of shade, great spots for campers and tents. Its small and all bit 1 of the spots are ideal. The water runs right behind it so makes for a nice sound. The campground water and toilets were not functioning so I removes 1 star. They had clean port-a-potties so that was nice. There were a lot of mice so be careful with leaving out food and trash. I came home with one in my glovebox!
