Wood Camp Campground Introduce
Looking for an accessible and affordable "camping near me" experience in the Logan, Utah area? Wood Camp Campground, located off FR136, offers a riverside setting that appeals to tent campers and RVers alike. Based on the available customer reviews, this campground provides a relatively basic yet enjoyable camping experience, emphasizing its convenient location, proximity to the river, and budget-friendly pricing. For local users seeking a no-frills getaway close to nature, Wood Camp Campground presents a viable option.
The environment of Wood Camp Campground is primarily defined by its location right on the river. This is a significant draw for those seeking "camping near me" with easy access to water for relaxation and potential recreational activities. One reviewer noted the ease of accessing the river, with spots along the shoreline suitable for setting up a chair and unwinding. The sound of the flowing river can also contribute to a peaceful and natural ambiance. While the campground is situated right off the road, it sits down below the highway, which helps to mitigate road noise, making the environment more tranquil than its immediate proximity to the road might suggest. The presence of mature trees is not explicitly mentioned, but the accessibility to the river suggests a natural, potentially wooded or riparian environment. However, campers should be prepared for varying levels of shade depending on their chosen campsite.
In terms of services and features, Wood Camp Campground offers essential amenities for a comfortable, albeit basic, camping experience. A key point to note is that there is "no water" available at the campground. Campers will need to bring their own potable water for drinking, cooking, and washing. Despite the lack of running water, the campground does provide "vault toilets," which are reported to be "very clean." While vault toilets are a non-flushing type of restroom, the cleanliness is a significant positive aspect, ensuring a hygienic experience for campers. Each campsite is equipped with "picnic tables," which are reported to be in great shape, providing a convenient space for outdoor meals and activities. Additionally, "fire pits" are available at the campsites, allowing for campfires and cooking over an open flame. The presence of a "dumpster" indicates that there is a designated area for disposing of trash, helping to keep the campground clean and organized.
Accessibility is a notable feature of Wood Camp Campground. One reviewer mentioned that the campground is "easily accessible" and right off the road. For those who prefer not to travel far off the beaten path to find a campsite, this could be a significant advantage. Site #2 is specifically mentioned as a "pull thru site," which easily accommodated a tow vehicle and an RPod trailer, indicating that some sites are suitable for RVs. The campground is also described as "dog friendly," making it a welcoming option for campers who travel with their canine companions. The availability of "many spots for tent" further highlights its suitability for various types of campers.
The fact that Wood Camp Campground operates on a "first come first serve" basis is an important consideration for local users planning a trip. This means that reservations are not accepted, and campsites are allocated upon arrival based on availability. While one reviewer "lucked out" and got the last available site on a Friday afternoon, this system can also mean that there is a risk of the campground being full, especially during peak season or on weekends. Campers planning to stay at Wood Camp should be prepared for this and potentially have a backup plan in case no sites are available upon their arrival.
One of the most appealing features of Wood Camp Campground, as highlighted by a reviewer, is its affordability at only "$20/night." This makes it a very budget-friendly option for "camping near me" in the Logan area. For campers looking for a cost-effective way to enjoy the outdoors without the need for extensive amenities, Wood Camp Campground offers excellent value.
While the reviews provide a good overview of the basic amenities and environment, there is no information available regarding additional services or features that Wood Camp Campground might offer. It is unknown whether there are any designated hiking trails within the campground itself or nearby, if there are any specific regulations regarding campfires or pets beyond being "dog friendly," or if there is any on-site staff presence. Local users seeking more detailed information may need to consult online camping directories or attempt to contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers: (385) 273-1100 or +1 385-273-1100.
Similarly, there is no mention of any promotional offers or discounts for Wood Camp Campground in the provided reviews. Given its already low nightly rate, it is possible that no further discounts are typically offered. However, it would still be prudent for local users to inquire directly if they are planning an extended stay or are part of any camping membership programs that might offer benefits. Checking for any official listings or websites for the campground might also reveal if any special rates are available.
In conclusion, Wood Camp Campground offers a convenient and affordable "camping near me" experience right on the river near Logan, Utah. Its accessibility, dog-friendly policy, and basic amenities like picnic tables and fire pits make it a suitable choice for budget-conscious campers who appreciate a riverside setting. However, the first-come, first-serve system and the lack of water hookups are important considerations. Campers should come prepared with their own water and be aware of the potential for limited site availability, especially during peak times. The clean vault toilets are a plus, and the relatively low road noise despite its proximity to the highway adds to its appeal. For local users seeking a simple and natural camping experience without breaking the bank, Wood Camp Campground is worth considering.

Wood Camp Campground Reviews
I lucked out and got site #2 which happened to be the only site left on a Friday afternoon. One downside is this is a first come first serve campground. No water however there are vault toilets. They were very clean. Wood Camp is right off the road but the road noise isn't as bad as I expected. Campground sits down below the highway. The river is easily accessible with spots of shoreline to set up a chair & relax. Site #2 is a pull thru site which easily fit my tow vehicle & RPod trailer. Dog friendly! Picnic tables were all in great shape. Will hopefully be back again! Very affordable at only $20/night.
Jul 18, 2021 · Susan SchaeferEasily accessible, right on the river, many spots for tent, picnic tables and fire pits available! There is a dumpster. It's just a bit hidden on the right as you're leaving

Aug 08, 2020 · Jess BennettClean campground and clean bathrooms, good shade and the lovely sound of running water. Very nice access to hiking on the Jardine Juniper trail. We stayed May 13-15, and the campground host was very efficient and helpful. Definitely we would stay there again!
