Lodge Campground

FR051, Logan, UT 84321, USA

4.0
A wonderful tucked away campsite with a creek that runs through. Listening to the running water was so peaceful. We were able to park our 28 foot trailer. It was tight, but manageable. Plenty of trees to put up a hammock or swing. Josh is the camp host and takes great care of the site. He's great to work with, courteous and very helpful. - Cecilia Campbell

Lodge Campground Introduce

For local outdoor enthusiasts in the Logan area seeking a tranquil and secluded "camping near me" experience, Lodge Campground, located off FR051 in Logan, UT 84321, offers a charming retreat. Characterized by the soothing presence of a creek, abundant tree cover, and a helpful camp host, Lodge Campground provides a peaceful escape into nature. It caters to both tent and trailer campers, although maneuvering larger trailers requires skill. It's important to note that this campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis and offers minimal, non-flushing restroom facilities.

Secluded Environment with a Tranquil Creek: Lodge Campground is described as a "wonderful tucked away campsite" featuring a creek that runs through it. The sound of running water is often cited as incredibly peaceful, creating a relaxing ambiance for campers. This riverside setting offers a unique opportunity to camp in close proximity to a natural water source, enhancing the overall sense of tranquility and immersion in nature. The presence of the creek likely also attracts local wildlife, adding to the natural charm of the campground. For those seeking a "camping near me" experience where the sounds of nature take center stage, Lodge Campground appears to be an excellent choice.

Ample Tree Cover and Natural Shade: Another significant advantage of Lodge Campground is the "LOTS of tree cover" and "plenty of trees to put up a hammock or swing." This abundance of trees provides ample shade, which is particularly welcome during the hot summer months, creating cooler and more comfortable campsites. The trees also offer opportunities for setting up hammocks or swings, allowing campers to further relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. The dense tree cover contributes to the feeling of being tucked away and secluded, enhancing the sense of escape from more crowded areas.

Helpful and Attentive Camp Host: The presence of a dedicated camp host, Josh, is a notable positive aspect of Lodge Campground. Reviewers describe him as taking "great care of the site," "great to work with, courteous and very helpful." A good camp host can significantly enhance the camping experience by providing assistance, ensuring the campground is well-maintained, and fostering a positive atmosphere. Josh's attentiveness suggests that campers can expect a well-managed and welcoming environment at Lodge Campground.

Suitability for Trailers (with Maneuvering Considerations): Lodge Campground can accommodate trailers, with one reviewer successfully parking a 28-foot trailer and another a 26-foot trailer. However, it's emphasized that maneuvering a bumper pull trailer "REALLY well" is necessary due to the potentially tight spaces. Campers with larger trailers should be prepared for a potentially challenging setup. This suggests that while trailer camping is possible, it might be better suited for experienced drivers with good maneuvering skills or those with slightly smaller trailers. It's advisable to assess the size and layout of the campsites upon arrival to ensure a comfortable fit.

First-Come, First-Served Basis: Planning is Essential: A crucial piece of information about Lodge Campground is that it operates on a "first come first serve" basis, and reservations are not available online. This means that securing a campsite requires arriving early, especially during peak season or weekends. The reviews note that the campground "fills up fast," so prospective campers need to plan accordingly and be prepared for the possibility that a site might not be immediately available. This first-come, first-served system contributes to the spontaneous nature of camping but requires flexibility and timely arrival.

Minimal Restroom Facilities: Outhouse Style: Campers should be aware that the restroom facilities at Lodge Campground are described as "minimal with only toilet - nonflushing - outhouse style." This is a significant consideration for those who prefer more modern restroom amenities. Outhouses provide basic sanitation but do not include running water for handwashing or flush toilets. Campers should come prepared with hand sanitizer and be comfortable with this type of facility. The simplicity of the restrooms aligns with the more rustic and secluded nature of the campground.

Good-Sized Fire Pits and Wildlife Sightings: The campsites feature "good size" fire pits, suitable for small families or groups to enjoy campfires for cooking and warmth. Additionally, reviewers have reported seeing wildlife such as deer and squirrels, further enhancing the natural camping experience. The opportunity to observe local wildlife in their natural habitat is often a highlight for campers.

Overall Atmosphere: Quiet and Relaxing: The general consensus from the reviews is that Lodge Campground is "usually quiet," contributing to its appeal as a peaceful retreat. The combination of the running creek, ample tree cover, and the tucked-away location creates a serene atmosphere ideal for relaxation and escaping the noise of everyday life. For those prioritizing a quiet and tranquil "camping near me" experience, Lodge Campground appears to deliver on this front.
