Miners Camps RV Park Introduce
Miners Camps RV Park, located at 11700 Wade Ln, Wallace, CA 95254, USA, is a notable destination for RV and motorhome campers, frequently appearing in searches for "Camping Near Me" within the Northern California region. As part of the larger Lake Camanche Recreation Area, it offers a lakeside camping experience, attracting visitors primarily for its water-based activities and recreational opportunities. Customer reviews provide a mixed but insightful perspective on what to expect at this park.
The environment at Miners Camps RV Park is heavily influenced by its proximity to Lake Camanche, a large reservoir known for its recreational offerings. The park boasts easy walking access to both the main lake and a smaller pond. This dual water access is a significant environmental feature, providing varied experiences. The main lake, specifically in the area near the campground, is a "no wake zone," meaning boats are required to travel at slow speeds. This creates a calmer, safer environment for activities like swimming and fishing, contrasting with areas where faster boating is permitted. The reviews highlight the visual appeal of the environment, with "the sunsets are amazing" being a particular highlight, indicating scenic evenings. However, not all aspects of the environment receive positive feedback. One reviewer notes that the area can be "very dusty as dirt was like powder," which is a common characteristic of some dry, rural California landscapes, especially during drier seasons. Furthermore, concerns were raised about the cleanliness of the beaches, described as "filthy with trash and duck poop," which points to potential issues with maintenance in certain public areas. The presence of natural elements like dust and animal waste is something campers should anticipate in an outdoor setting, though the extent described can impact comfort.
Miners Camps RV Park is designed primarily for trailer and motorhome camping, suggesting that its services are tailored to these vehicles. This typically includes designated RV sites equipped with essential hookups. While the specific amenities per site are not detailed in the given reviews, a key piece of feedback highlights a significant issue: "The sewer hookup was UPHILL by quite a bit." This is a critical service detail for RV campers, as an uphill sewer connection can make draining tanks difficult or impossible without specialized equipment or manual intervention. Other services expected at an RV park of this nature would include access to potable water and electricity. The park enforces "quiet times," with "roving rangers" ensuring compliance to "help keep it enjoyable for everyone." This indicates a commitment to maintaining a peaceful atmosphere for campers, a service that many value highly. For general inquiries or booking, the park can be reached via phone at (866) 763-5121 or mobile at +1 866-763-5121. While general services like restrooms, showers, or laundry facilities are common in RV parks within larger recreation areas, the provided information does not explicitly confirm their presence at Miners Camps RV Park itself. However, being part of Lake Camanche Recreation Area, these facilities are likely available within the broader park system.
The features of Miners Camps RV Park largely revolve around its recreational offerings and the unique characteristics of its location. The most prominent feature is the excellent fishing opportunities in both the main lake and the pond, described as "good fishing in both pond and lake locations very family easy." The "no wake zone" in the main lake area is a significant safety and tranquility feature, making it appealing for families with children or those who prefer a calmer water environment for swimming and leisurely boating. The ease of access to both water bodies from all sites is another commendable feature. The presence of "roving rangers" who enforce quiet times is a valuable feature for campers seeking a peaceful night's rest. For those who appreciate natural beauty, the "amazing" sunsets are a definitive highlight. However, there are also features that detract from the experience, as highlighted by negative reviews. The "site was not level at all" is a critical practical concern for RV campers, requiring significant effort to properly set up. The "covered in trash left behind from previous camper" indicates a potential issue with site maintenance or turnover cleaning, which is a significant negative feature impacting initial impressions and comfort. These varying features contribute to a mixed but comprehensive picture of the park.
Promotional information for Miners Camps RV Park would likely emphasize its prime lakeside location on Lake Camanche, particularly highlighting the excellent fishing, the calm no-wake zone for family-friendly water activities, and the picturesque sunsets. The ease of access to the water from all sites would also be a strong selling point. The enforcement of quiet hours would be promoted as a benefit for those seeking a relaxing and undisturbed camping experience. For potential visitors, the park would be positioned as a "great place to trailer/motorhome camp," appealing to RV owners looking for a direct water access experience. However, an objective introduction also needs to acknowledge the potential downsides. While not explicitly promotional, the reviews suggest that potential visitors should be prepared for dusty conditions, potentially unlevel sites, and the possibility of cleanliness issues on beaches and individual campsites. It is advisable for prospective campers to inquire about site-leveling needs and current cleanliness conditions before booking, perhaps by checking recent user photos or contacting the park directly. Despite these points of concern, the consistent praise for fishing and the relaxed atmosphere suggests that for many, the natural recreational opportunities outweigh the practical inconveniences, making Miners Camps RV Park a viable option for "Camping Near Me" if managing expectations for site conditions.

Miners Camps RV Park Reviews
Really great place to trailer/motorhome camp all site are an easy walk to either the main lake or the pond. There is no swimming in the pond but there is in the main lake plus it is in the no wake zone so all boats are taking it easy here. Good fishing in both pond and lake locations very family easy. Quite time are in forced by the roving rangers to help keep it enjoyable for everyone. And the sunset are amazing
Dec 02, 2021 · P SanchezVery disappointed in this campground. Our site was covered in trash left behind from previous camper. Site was not level at all. The sewer hookup was UPHILL by quite a bit. Very dusty as dirt was like powder. Beaches are filthy with trash and duck poop.
Jul 29, 2024 · Bill ShermanI did enjoy staying here and had fun, but there were some issues that I had to adapt and actively ignore in order to make the most of the trip. First the good, the area is beautiful if you enjoy California Central Valley scenery, which I do. The lake was wonderful, and even with a packed beach, the fellow beachgoers were fun and friendly, and most of our neighbors were friendly. The bad, we got a pull-thru, which ended up being a bad idea. On one side were back-ins, the other, pull-thrus with a narrow road and a single turnaround spot at the end of the road. This is all fine, except, multiple guests of our back-in neighbors parked in our campsite without even asking, and someone parked a boat trailer in the middle of the single turn-around area for the entire weekend. Now this worked out fine for us, but we were literally unable to leave until after they left and we had to position our cars to block off part of our campsites so we could have room to hook back up and drive away the morning we were leaving. This didn't stop someone from parking up against our picknick table for long enough to cause a small panic the morning we left, luckily, they did leave before we had to. We were actually unable to even pull in until someone moved their car when we arrived, and this appears to be the standard accepted thing based on how many cars were parked in pull-thru spots and how close they parked to our rig on an obvious campsite. We also did confirm at the gate that they were not going to charge us for extra cars, which was another concern. None of this would have been a problem if we had a back-in site, so keep that in mind if you plan to leave a different day than everyone else, you will literally be trapped in your higher cost pull-thru spot. The other issue is that the roads aren't well marked and google maps will lead you astray, one of our group members took the wrong road and had to do a full-on repair to his RV because the other road was too small to turn around safely. Overall, I would consider coming here again, but I probably wouldn't unless I was in a group as the stress of being trapped was very uncomfortable.
