Mozingo Lake Youth Camp Introduce
For local organizations and groups seeking a "camping near me" experience with comfortable cabin accommodations, Mozingo Lake Youth Camp, located on White Tail Rd, Maryville, MO 64468, USA, presents a well-equipped option. While the name suggests a focus on youth groups, reviews indicate that the camp caters to a broader range of organized events and group outings. With features like heated and air-conditioned cabins, a lodge with kitchen and bathroom facilities, and a dedicated staff, Mozingo Lake Youth Camp offers a blend of outdoor adventure and indoor comfort. This introduction will detail the potential environment, services, and features of the camp, highlighting its suitability for those looking for group-oriented "camping near me" solutions.
The Scenic Setting of Mozingo Lake Near Maryville, Missouri
Mozingo Lake Youth Camp is situated near Mozingo Lake, a significant recreational area in northwest Missouri. This proximity suggests a setting characterized by the natural beauty of a lake environment, potentially including scenic water views, opportunities for lakeside activities, and a generally tranquil atmosphere. The surrounding landscape likely features a mix of woodlands and open areas typical of the region, providing a backdrop for outdoor exploration and enjoyment. While the reviews don't explicitly detail the immediate environment of the cabins, being near a lake often implies access to nature trails, wildlife viewing opportunities, and a generally pleasant outdoor setting.
The mention of using a fire pit with benches indicates that the camp facilitates outdoor gatherings and the traditional campfire experience. This feature allows groups to socialize in the evening, enjoy the warmth of a fire, and engage in activities like storytelling or s'mores making. The fact that the Boy Scouts utilized the cabins for a winter campout suggests that the camp is accessible and functional even in colder months, further highlighting its adaptability to different seasonal conditions.
One reviewer mentioned returning with "gleas from the site," which is a point of caution regarding potential natural irritants present in the outdoor environment. However, the overall positive sentiment from other reviewers suggests that this might be an isolated incident or a general risk associated with outdoor activities in any natural setting.
Comfortable Services and Amenities for Group Accommodation
A significant advantage of Mozingo Lake Youth Camp, as highlighted by a reviewer, is the presence of "nice cabins that have both heat and a/c." This feature ensures a comfortable stay regardless of the season, providing warmth during colder months and cooling during the heat of summer. This level of comfort is particularly beneficial for group outings where participants might range in age and have varying needs regarding climate control.
The availability of a "nice lodge as well with kitchen and nice bathrooms" is another key amenity. A lodge with a kitchen provides a central space for meal preparation and dining for larger groups, offering a more convenient and communal option compared to individual cooking at cabins. The presence of "nice bathrooms" in the lodge suggests well-maintained and accessible facilities for all guests.
The fact that the Mozingo staff "bladed the roads after we got 6 inches of snow, ensuring that we were able to leave and not get stuck," demonstrates a commendable level of service and commitment to guest safety and accessibility, especially during winter months. This proactive approach to maintaining the grounds and infrastructure adds significant value to the overall experience, particularly for groups visiting during potentially challenging weather conditions.
While the reviews focus on the cabins and lodge, a youth camp of this nature might also offer other facilities suitable for group activities. These could include open recreational areas for games and sports, meeting rooms or program spaces within the lodge, and potentially outdoor activity areas depending on the camp's specific offerings. Access to parking for buses and personal vehicles would also be a likely provision.
Key Features Tailored for Group Events and Camping
The primary features of Mozingo Lake Youth Camp appear to be its comfortable accommodations, including heated and air-conditioned cabins, and the central lodge with kitchen and bathroom facilities. These amenities make it well-suited for organized groups, such as scouting organizations, school groups, church retreats, and other community events looking for a "camping near me" venue that offers more than just basic campsites.
The presence of a fire pit with benches encourages group interaction and outdoor gatherings, a staple of the camping experience. The camp's apparent ability to handle winter conditions, as evidenced by the road maintenance, makes it a year-round option for groups planning activities regardless of the season.
The overall positive experiences of returning groups, like the Boy Scouts who plan to come back annually, suggest a welcoming and well-managed facility that meets the needs of organized events. The camp's infrastructure seems designed to support group activities and provide a comfortable and safe environment for participants.
While the name includes "Youth Camp," the positive experiences of non-youth groups indicate that the facility is likely available for rental by various organizations looking for a group camping or event venue near Maryville, MO.
Potential Promotional Information and How to Inquire
Given that Mozingo Lake Youth Camp seems to cater primarily to group rentals, promotional information might be tailored to organizations rather than individual campers. To inquire about availability, pricing for group rentals, and any specific packages or discounts for recurring events, the best approach is to contact them directly using the provided phone numbers: (660) 562-3864 or +1 660-562-3864. You can discuss the size of your group, the dates of your intended stay, and any specific needs or requirements your organization might have.
When you contact them, it would be beneficial to ask about the capacity of the cabins and the lodge, the تجهيز of the kitchen, and any rules or regulations regarding the use of the facilities. Inquiring about any additional amenities available for group activities, such as recreational equipment or meeting spaces, would also be helpful in planning your event.
It's possible that Mozingo Lake Youth Camp has a website or is managed by the Mozingo Lake Recreation Area, which might provide more detailed information about their facilities and rental procedures. Searching online for "Mozingo Lake Recreation Area" or "Mozingo Lake Youth Camp" might yield additional resources. However, direct contact via phone is likely the most efficient way to get specific information for your group's needs.
When planning your group's event, be sure to discuss any requirements for reservations, deposits, and payment schedules. Understanding the camp's policies will help ensure a smooth and organized experience for everyone involved. It would also be wise to inquire about any specific guidelines regarding the use of the fire pit or other outdoor areas.

Oct 21, 2024 · Corwin BurtonWent with the Boy Scouts and used the cabins for our winter campout, enjoying a change of pace with the nice cabins that have both heat and a/c. Nice lodge as well with kitchen and nice bathrooms. We used the fire pit as well with benches. Mozingo staff even bladed the roads after we got 6 inches of snow, ensuring that we were able to leave and not get stuck. We will keep coming back every year I hope!
Jan 22, 2022 · Matt NicholsonCame here for a weekend camping boffer event(Dark Tides). Beautiful site, the main community building was delightful to be able to able use and the showers kept up with hot water. I do wish the shower stalls were a bit smaller and that the Porta potty farther out from the main bathrooms was better maintained. Definately looking forward to my next trip here!
Jun 13, 2022 · Jeffrey TateWonderful facility. Hope they build a few more cabins for larger groups. I’m afraid our kids camp has outgrown the location.
Aug 02, 2022 · JD DirksAn amazing spot to spend an afternoon at, a weekend at, or a nice summer getaway. Something for everyone.
