Narrows Too Campground Introduce
For local adventurers seeking "camping near me" with convenient access to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, Narrows Too Campground in Trenton, Maine, presents a straightforward option. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground offers a valuable location and a significant amenity that enhances the overall experience for visitors wanting to explore the natural beauty of the region.
One of the most frequently highlighted advantages of Narrows Too Campground is its location. Situated on Bar Harbor Road in Trenton, it serves as a convenient basecamp for exploring both Acadia National Park and the town of Bar Harbor. While the specific proximity to these attractions isn't quantified in the reviews, the repeated mention of the location as a "big plus" suggests that it offers easy access by car. Furthermore, one reviewer specifically noted its closeness to a grocery store down the road, adding to the convenience for campers needing to stock up on supplies during their stay.
A standout feature of Narrows Too Campground is its free shuttle service to Acadia National Park. This amenity is repeatedly praised by reviewers and appears to be a major draw for visitors wanting to explore the park without the hassle of driving and parking within the park itself. The availability of a free bus pickup directly from the campground significantly enhances the accessibility of Acadia's numerous hiking trails, scenic drives, and iconic landmarks. This service is particularly beneficial during peak season when park traffic and parking can be challenging.
While the location and shuttle service are strong positives, customer reviews offer mixed feedback regarding other aspects of the campground. One reviewer described the campground itself as "very straightforward," implying a focus on basic camping needs rather than extensive amenities. Another reviewer explicitly stated, "Not really any amenities besides the bus which doesn't really bother us," indicating that the campground may lack some of the additional facilities often found at more developed campgrounds. Based on the available information, specifics about restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, recreational areas, or organized activities are not provided.
Customer service experiences also appear to be varied. One reviewer recounted a negative initial interaction at the office upon arrival, citing a computer issue and a lack of helpfulness regarding the pre-booked site. This reviewer credited the "camp coordinator" as being "fantastic and helpful," suggesting that individual staff members can significantly impact the guest experience and that there may be inconsistencies in service levels. This highlights the importance of potentially managing expectations regarding check-in and initial interactions.
On a more positive note, another reviewer staying through the Thousand Trails - Trails Collection membership had an overwhelmingly positive experience, describing "everything about this campground was pure perfection." This suggests that experiences may vary based on individual circumstances or expectations. This reviewer also mentioned "beautiful views including the Northern Lights" and reported that Starlink internet service worked great, which could be a significant advantage for those needing to stay connected.
It's important to note the observation from a Thousand Trails member that waterfront sites are not to be expected with that particular membership. This suggests that while the campground may have some waterfront sites, access to them might be limited based on booking type or membership status. Therefore, if a waterfront campsite is a priority, it would be essential to inquire specifically about availability and any associated costs or restrictions when booking.
In summary, Narrows Too Campground offers a strategically advantageous location for those wanting to explore Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, coupled with the significant benefit of a free shuttle service to the park. While the campground itself appears to be straightforward with limited additional amenities, the convenience of the location and the shuttle are major draws. Potential visitors should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding customer service and the potential lack of extensive amenities. However, for those prioritizing access to Acadia and Bar Harbor and appreciating a complimentary shuttle, Narrows Too Campground provides a practical "camping near me" option in the Trenton, Maine area. As no specific promotional information is available in the provided reviews, it is recommended to contact the campground directly for any current offers or discounts.

Narrows Too Campground Reviews
As far as a campground, it is very straightforward. Location and shuttle service is a big plus for this campground. The 'camp coordinator' is the only reason I would give this place a three star. He was fantastic and helpful. He saved the face of this campground as upon arrival service was terrible and unhelpful at the office. Computer was down and that the site chosen for me was 'what I paid for therefore what you're getting'. Although I had attempted to pre-book via phone (no call back) and via internet without success. Would I go back? If there was no alternative.
Feb 04, 2025 · Stephane LeducStayed through our Thousand Trails - Trails Collection membership. Everything about this campground was pure perfection. Free bus pickup to the National Park, beautiful views including the Northern Lights, and close to the grocery store down the road. Starlink worked great, and the staff was very kind and accommodating. Not really any amenities besides the bus which doesn't really bother us. Also, don't expect a waterfront site with the TT membership.
Oct 11, 2024 · Grace AndesGreat little campground next to the water. Stayed in a cabin that had electricity, ceiling fan, microwave and small frig. Flushable port a potty near cabin, or a small walk to showers and full bathrooms. Staff were friendly and after hours check in was a breeze.About 12 miles from Acadia. Good location. Easy to find.
Sep 30, 2024 · Jonelle WinklerThis was our first time here and we weren't impressed! It was no Thousand Trails!! We made reservations 4 months in advance and asked for an ocean site since they didn't allow you to pick a site. So we get here and they give us site 306 which is extremely narrow and there are 2 huge 5th wheels with slide outs on both sides. The lady in the office laughed and said they call 403-407 "no awning sites", but yet they tried sticking us in it for the extra $300 more until we told them no. I asked if there was another ocean site available since there were a lot of empty sites that weren't as narrow and she said no they were all taken. After we went into site 606 and got set up, she told our friends that site 310 was available on the ocean if he wanted it?? WT??? Mind you, he didn't even have reservations and just decided to join us. Yet they were going to give him a nicer ocean site after telling us there weren't any!!! The laundry room was always dirty. I don't think anyone ever cleaned it. Dog hair all over the washers and just nasty looking. I was really disappointed in this place!!! Plus we cleaned out 1 washer to use and now the app that we had to use is sending fraudulent charges to our credit card so my credit card company had to cancel my card!!!
Sep 12, 2024 · Terri PouliotThe park is close to Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. Across the street is Sugar Bakery that has an excellent blueberry pie $32, but we got 10 slices from it. The park is quiet other than obnoxious diesel trucks that people seem to think warming them up for 10 minutes at 5:51 am is necessary. A walk to the water is nice.
