NAS Jacksonville Campground Introduce
For local users in the Jacksonville, Florida area who are eligible to stay at military campgrounds and are searching for "camping near me," the NAS Jacksonville Campground, located on Mustin Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32212, USA, presents an exceptional option. With phone numbers (904) 542-3111 and +1 904-542-3111 provided, reaching out for inquiries and reservations appears to be readily accessible. Based on the overwhelmingly positive customer reviews, this campground offers not just a place to park or camp, but a welcoming and supportive environment with a range of amenities that cater to the needs of travelers and local campers alike.
The environment of NAS Jacksonville Campground, while described as having "simple enough" sites, is clearly appreciated for its ease of use and its potential for scenic views. One reviewer specifically mentioned a site "near the water," suggesting that some campsites offer a lovely waterfront experience with opportunities to observe local wildlife. The fact that the campground accommodated a "camper conversation SUV" indicates a degree of flexibility in the types of camping units they can host. While the reviews don't extensively detail the natural surroundings beyond the potential for waterfront views, the overall positive sentiment suggests a comfortable and pleasant outdoor setting within the Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
The services at NAS Jacksonville Campground appear to be a significant highlight, particularly the exceptional customer service. The MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) manager is repeatedly praised for going "above and beyond" to assist guests. This includes clear and direct communication during the reservation process, flexibility in accommodating changing needs (as seen with the hurricane evacuees), and providing helpful directions upon arrival. The presence of camp hosts who meet guests at the entrance, provide a rundown of the campground, and even offer assistance with parking (spotting RVs into sites) further underscores the commitment to guest well-being and ease of settling in. The availability of same-day reservations, as experienced by one reviewer with a midnight arrival, suggests a responsive and accommodating management. Moreover, the willingness of the camp host to assist with a dead battery issue, even going to great lengths to find a solution, exemplifies a high level of service and care for the campers.
The features of NAS Jacksonville Campground extend beyond the basic campsites. The availability of "multiple amenities" allowed one reviewer to "get reset," implying a range of facilities that cater to the needs of travelers. While not exhaustively listed, these amenities likely include essential hookups for RVs (electricity, water, and sewer, although this is inferred rather than explicitly stated), as well as the highly praised clean bathrooms with a heater, which is a significant comfort, especially during cooler months. The potential for waterfront sites is a notable feature for those seeking scenic views and proximity to the water. The campground's willingness to accommodate different types of camping vehicles, including a camper conversion SUV, broadens its appeal to a wider range of potential users within the military community. The clear marking of sites and the escort to the assigned spot contribute to a smooth and hassle-free arrival experience.
While no specific promotional information is provided in the reviews, the consistent praise for the service and amenities serves as a powerful form of positive word-of-mouth promotion. For eligible local users searching for "camping near me," the reputation for exceptional customer service, clean facilities (especially the bathrooms), and the potential for waterfront sites could be a significant draw. The fact that they were able to accommodate a last-minute reservation during a busy period (hurricane evacuation) speaks to their capacity and willingness to help those in need. To further promote the campground within the local military community, highlighting the specific amenities available (e.g., laundry facilities, recreational areas if any), the ease of the reservation process, and any special rates or extended stay options for eligible personnel and their families could be beneficial.
To provide a more comprehensive introduction for local users, additional information about the specific types of campsites available (e.g., RV sites with full hookups, tent sites if offered), the size and layout of the campground, any recreational facilities on-site (e.g., playgrounds, picnic areas), pet policies, and any specific rules or regulations would be helpful. Details regarding eligibility for staying at the campground (e.g., active duty military, retirees, DoD civilians) are crucial for ensuring that local users can access this facility. Information about the surrounding area within NAS Jacksonville and its proximity to other base amenities or local attractions might also be of interest to potential campers.
Local military personnel, retirees, and other eligible individuals in the Jacksonville area who are searching for "camping near me" will likely find the NAS Jacksonville Campground to be a highly appealing option based on the glowing reviews. The emphasis on outstanding customer service, clean and comfortable facilities (like the heated bathrooms), and the possibility of waterfront sites creates a compelling picture of a well-managed and enjoyable camping destination. The willingness to go the extra mile for guests, as highlighted in the reviews, suggests a level of care and attention that can significantly enhance the camping experience. Eligible users are encouraged to contact the provided phone numbers to inquire about reservations and specific eligibility requirements.
In conclusion, NAS Jacksonville Campground offers a welcoming and amenity-rich "camping near me" option for eligible local users in Jacksonville, Florida. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from recent guests underscores the exceptional customer service, clean facilities, and the potential for scenic waterfront sites. The helpfulness of the MWR manager and the camp hosts, along with the availability of essential amenities, makes this campground a standout choice for military families and other authorized individuals seeking a comfortable and convenient camping experience in the Jacksonville area. Local users who meet the eligibility criteria are highly encouraged to consider NAS Jacksonville Campground for their next camping getaway.

NAS Jacksonville Campground Reviews
I cannot say enough good things about this place. We evacuated the west coast of Florida due to the hurricane and finally heading home on our trip. We hit a delay and got lucky enough to reserve a night here. The MWR manager was above and beyond. She made sure we had everything we needed and was very direct/clear on the phone with what we needed to do to get situated. Once we arrived she was clear on directions and helped us get our reservation configured to meet our needs. This was a God send, especially since we have our newborn and was exhausted. The sites were simple enough, but also easy enough. We were met at the entrance of the sites by the camp hosts who gave us the rundown and escorted us to our site. They even helped spot us into the site (we didn't need it, but it looks like they have to do it). After getting level, setting up and plugging in; we were able to relax and access the multiple amenities we needed to get reset.
Oct 02, 2024 · LoganWe made a same day reservation and they had one spot open. We had a midnight arrival and the camp host was happy to help. I woke up to a dead battery and I texted him and even though he didn't have jumper cables he found a jumper battery from someone (didn't work) and then found cables from someone else. It worked. Our site was near the water so when I woke up I had a lovely moment with some wildlife.I have a camper conversation SUV and they allowed me to park. The bathrooms were clean and had a heater. The person who made the reservation was very helpful and friendly. Thanks for a nice stay.

Mar 19, 2025 · miachel cosgroveGood campground. Concrete and level sights. Somewhat exposed in some areas with no tree cover. Pretty quiet so far. One of the best things is that it is $35 for full hookup, at least at the time of those review. The sights are a little skinny. Beware of slidout location prior to deployment of slides. Clean and secure bathrooms. Overall, pretty good place, especially for the price
