You can reach them at (906) 293-5762 or their mobile number, +1 906-293-5762, to inquire about availability and plan your stay.
The environment at Newberry Campground is described as "pretty decent" and "quiet," particularly during the mid-September timeframe, suggesting a serene atmosphere that allows for relaxation and a connection with nature. However, a reviewer who stayed in August 2024 also described it as a "very quiet place," indicating that tranquility may be a consistent characteristic throughout the camping season. While specific details about the natural surroundings (such as the presence of forests, lakes, or other natural features) are not extensively detailed in the provided reviews, the general impression is of a peaceful campground environment suitable for unwinding.
The services offered at Newberry Campground include essential amenities aimed at ensuring a comfortable stay for campers. Cleanliness of facilities is a point of both praise and constructive criticism in the reviews. One reviewer who stayed in August 2024 explicitly stated that "the showers and toilets were clean and taken care of," which is a significant positive aspect for any campground. Trash service is also noted as "great," indicating efficient waste management. The employees are consistently described as "great" and the owners as "friendly and helpful," highlighting a positive and welcoming customer service experience. Laundry facilities are available on-site, although one reviewer suggested they could benefit from updates, along with the bathrooms, showers, and putt-putt area. This suggests that while functional, some of these amenities might show signs of age or require some refurbishment to enhance the guest experience.
A notable feature of Newberry Campground, based on one of the reviews, is the presence of a "very nice, clean and enjoyable" swimming pool, which would be a significant draw, especially during the warmer summer months. However, another reviewer who stayed in mid-September mentioned that the pool was closed despite warm weather, indicating that the pool's operation might be seasonal or subject to specific conditions. Tent spots are available, and at least one was described as "shady," which is desirable for staying cool during sunny days. While one tent spot was on a "hilly" area, the campers were able to set up comfortably, suggesting that while terrain might vary, suitable spots can be found. The mention of co-ed showers and a co-ed laundry area was noted as a downside by one reviewer, indicating that this might be a consideration for guests who prefer gender-separated facilities.
The features of Newberry Campground seem to cater to a range of camping preferences. The presence of a putt-putt course suggests family-friendly recreational activities are available, although it is also mentioned as potentially needing updates. The availability of laundry facilities is a convenience for longer stays or for travelers who need to refresh their clothing. The swimming pool, when open, is a significant amenity for recreation and relaxation. The campground appears to accommodate both tent campers and potentially RVs, although specific details about RV hookups (water, electric, sewer) are not provided in the reviews. The quiet atmosphere is a key feature for those seeking a peaceful camping experience away from busier campgrounds.
While the provided reviews do not contain specific promotional information such as discounts or special offers, the positive experiences shared by multiple guests, particularly the cleanliness noted by one reviewer and the friendly service, suggest that Newberry Campground offers good value for those seeking a quiet and convenient "camping near me" option in the Newberry area. The willingness of one reviewer to "highly recommend" the campground and the other's intention to "definitely visit again" are strong indicators of a positive overall experience.
For local users and travelers exploring the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan and looking for a "camping near me" destination, Newberry Campground offers a potentially pleasant and quiet stay. The clean facilities (as reported by some), friendly service, and the availability of a swimming pool (seasonally) are attractive features. While some amenities like the bathrooms, showers, laundry, and putt-putt might benefit from updates, the overall impression is of a well-maintained campground that prioritizes a peaceful atmosphere. The co-ed nature of some facilities might be a consideration for some guests. To obtain the most current information on pricing, availability, pool operating schedule, and any potential promotions, it is advisable to contact Newberry Campground directly. However, based on the available reviews, it seems to be a solid choice for those seeking a tranquil and conveniently located "camping near me" experience in the Newberry, Michigan area.

Its environment is conducive to a peaceful stay, and while some facilities might be due for updates, the cleanliness (as reported by some) and the friendly service are notable positives. The presence of a swimming pool (seasonal) and other recreational options like putt-putt add to its appeal, particularly for families. Newberry Campground Reviews
This is a pretty decent, quiet campground (at least in mid-September). The bathrooms, showers, laundry, and putt putt need some updates— nothing crazy! Deep clean, fresh paint, some new fixtures would do so much for this place. Trash service is great and all the employees were great, too. Downsides are the creepy co-ed showers and laundry area, and the pool was closed even though it was 85° each day we were there.
Sep 17, 2024 · Katie MourtosWe stayed from a Tuesday to Saturday in August 2024 and were so happy to be here. The showers and toilets were clean and taken care of. The owners were friendly and helpful. The pool was very nice, clean and enjoyable. Our tent spot was shady. We ended up on a hilly spot, but were able to set up our tents and pagoda to keep ourselves comfortable. We would stay here again, and highly recommend you do as well! Also it was a very quiet place!
Aug 08, 2024 · Kathryn HetrickI recently had the pleasure of staying at this campground, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the site is exceptionally well-maintained. The grounds are beautifully kept, with lush green lawns and neatly trimmed trees, making for a serene and inviting environment. The cleanliness of the facilities truly stood out. The bathrooms and showers were spotless, and I appreciated the regular maintenance throughout the day. It’s clear that the staff takes pride in ensuring that every area is kept in pristine condition, which greatly enhanced our comfort during the stay.Speaking of the staff, they were fantastic. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and eager to assist with any questions or needs we had. Their knowledge of the local area and willingness to provide recommendations for nearby activities made our visit even more enjoyable.Additionally, the amenities were excellent, with plenty of recreational options available for families and individuals alike. The campsite also offers easy access to hiking trails and scenic spots, perfect for nature lovers.Overall, I highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a clean, well-maintained place with excellent service. I will definitely be returning for another visit!
Jul 28, 2024 · David WhiteheadPool is very warm and kids liked the mini golf. Part of our stay was during a dirt bike convention. The dirt bike riders around us were considerate and didn’t start their bikes until 8 am or later and stopped riding before quiet hours. Management was great!
Jul 28, 2024 · Melissa BolanosWe camped in a tent, which I DO NOT recommend. Although the park is amazing at night, nice and quiet.... the traffic in the morning is obnoxious and starts around 4:30 am. I also must say I have NEVER in my life used a port a potty that was as full as the ones they provided. It literally was to the top. Ewww. If you have your own camper, then this is the place for you. The people that run it are absolutely amazing. And the pool was super warm.
