Newburg Campground Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" in the Broad Top City, Pennsylvania area? Newburg Campground, located at 4577 Witch Way Ln, Broad Top City, PA 16621, USA, offers a local option for RV and tent campers. You can reach them at (814) 448-3725 or +1 814-448-3725 for inquiries. Reviews from individuals who have experienced Newburg Campground provide a mixed perspective, with some highlighting positive aspects for newcomers to RVing and the convenience of on-site amenities, while others express significant concerns regarding the new ownership's policies and communication.
The environment of Newburg Campground, situated in Broad Top City, PA, likely offers a rural setting typical of the region. Broad Top City is located in south-central Pennsylvania, an area known for its rolling hills, woodlands, and proximity to outdoor recreational opportunities. Campers can potentially expect a natural environment with trees providing shade and a sense of being away from urban areas. The specific features of the landscape surrounding the campground, such as nearby hiking trails, fishing spots, or scenic views, would require further investigation. The overall atmosphere would likely be one of a countryside retreat, offering a quieter and more relaxed camping experience compared to campgrounds in more densely populated areas.
Based on the limited but direct information from customer reviews, we can outline some of the services and features that Newburg Campground has offered or currently offers. It's important to note that one review mentions "new owners," which suggests potential changes in policies and services. The identified services and features include:
- RV and Tent Camping: The positive review from "newbies to RVing" indicates that the campground accommodates recreational vehicles. The general nature of campgrounds also suggests that tent camping is likely permitted, although this is not explicitly stated in the provided reviews. The availability of hookups for RVs (electricity, water, sewer) is not mentioned and would require verification.
- On-Site Store: One of the positive aspects highlighted is the presence of a store within the campground. This would offer convenience for campers needing to purchase basic supplies, snacks, or forgotten items without having to leave the premises. The specific inventory of the store is not detailed.
- BBQ Area: The availability of a BBQ area on-site is mentioned, suggesting a communal space or individual grills where campers can cook meals outdoors. The specifics of this amenity (e.g., number of grills, availability of charcoal) are not provided.
- Ice Cream: The presence of ice cream sales on-site is noted as an amenity, particularly appealing during warmer months. The availability and variety of ice cream offered are not specified.
- Weekend Operation of Store, BBQ, and Ice Cream: It is explicitly stated that the on-site store, BBQ, and ice cream are open on weekends only. This is an important detail for potential campers planning weekday stays.
- Potential for Seasonal or Long-Term Sites: The negative review regarding selling a "site" and having a "camper" suggests the possibility of seasonal or long-term campsite rentals where campers can leave their RVs or have semi-permanent setups.
- Shed and Deck Considerations: The mention of a shed and a 30 ft deck on a rented site indicates that some long-term or seasonal arrangements may have allowed for the construction of additional structures on the campsite.
The negative review provides critical information regarding potential changes in policies and the management style under the new ownership. While not promotional, these points are crucial for local users considering Newburg Campground for their "camping near me" needs:
- Restrictions on Older Campers: The new owners reportedly have a policy against on-site sales of campers older than 20 years, requiring off-site sales and potentially implying pressure to "upgrade" to newer RVs. This policy was not part of the previous owner's contract.
- Lack of New Contract: The new owners apparently did not provide a new contract to existing site renters when they took over, leading to disputes over policy changes.
- Unfair Valuation of On-Site Structures: The new owners offered a significantly low price ($500.00) for a shed and a 30 ft deck left on a site, with a "take it or leave it" ultimatum and slow communication regarding the matter.
- Poor Communication and Delays: The negative review highlights issues with the new owners' communication, including significant delays in responding to inquiries.
- Potential for Forced Upgrades: The reviewer warns that campers with RVs older than 20 years might be "forced to upgrade" under the new ownership.
Currently, there is no positive promotional information available for Newburg Campground under the new ownership. The only explicitly mentioned amenities (store, BBQ, ice cream) are noted to be open weekends only, which might be considered a limited-time offering rather than a broad promotion. Potential future promotions under the new ownership are unknown but might include seasonal discounts, special rates for local residents, or incentives for new campers. However, given the serious concerns raised in the negative review, potential campers should exercise caution and seek further clarification on current policies and management practices.
To obtain the most accurate and up-to-date information about Newburg Campground, including current policies regarding RV age, site sales, amenities, pricing, and any potential promotions under the new ownership, it is strongly recommended to contact them directly using the provided phone numbers: (814) 448-3725 or +1 814-448-3725. Additionally, searching for recent reviews on various camping platforms or social media might provide further insights into the current state of the campground and the experiences of other campers under the new management. The significant discrepancies between the positive (albeit brief and potentially under previous ownership) and negative reviews highlight the importance of thorough research before making a booking decision.
In conclusion, Newburg Campground in Broad Top City, PA, offers a local "camping near me" option with a potentially pleasant rural environment and on-site amenities like a store, BBQ, and ice cream (weekends only). However, a recent customer review raises serious concerns about the new ownership's policies regarding older RVs, site sales, communication, and valuation of on-site structures. Potential local users should be aware of these issues and are strongly advised to contact the campground directly to inquire about current policies and management practices before making any reservations. Further research into recent experiences at Newburg Campground from other sources is also recommended to gain a balanced perspective on what to expect.

Newburg Campground Reviews
Newbies to RVing but it's been great so far!Even have a store, BBQ and Ice Cream on site open weekends only.
Jun 11, 2024 · Chris KnaubThe new owners are a nightmare to work with. We wanted to sell our site as we don't go up there often enough. When we reached out to the new owners, they stated because our camper was older than 20 years we would have to do an off site sale. The contract that we had signed with the previous owner did not state anything like that, and they did not have a new contract for us to sign when they took over. After going back and forth a bit, we just accepted it, seeing as it wasn't worth fighting them over it and did what they asked. We have a shed and a 30 ft deck still on site that they want to give us $500.00 for. Really, try buying a shed or build a deck for $500.00. When we replied stating just that their response was "500.00 or get it off the property. It's nothing special and it's not new. Let me know." It has taken months for them to respond to us, always stating this or that as why they are delayed to getting back to us. If you are looking for a campground, do not go here! Also, beware if your camper is older than 20 years they will "force you to upgrade".

May 18, 2024 · David LagleAfter never owning a camper before we looked and purchased a camper in this campground. We just finished out our 6th season here and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Everyone for the most part is nice and the campground is very clean. This is our little home away from home!

Wether you are looking for a tent site, perminent or just a weekend lot with water sewer and electric hook up. Or rent one of the cabins. It's a great place to stay. WiFi available also. Definitely a great getaway.
