Based on feedback from fellow campers, Newport RV Park boasts a staff that consistently goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. One reviewer enthusiastically shared, "The camp staff is beyond helpful and very knowledgeable of the park. When we first started camping there we asked for a site, the staff selected one they thought we would be happiest in and we were not disappointed. Whenever we call now, we feel like a part of their camp family. We always look forward to camping at Newport, this is park we visit yearly and would recommend to others." This testimonial highlights the welcoming and supportive atmosphere that many guests appreciate, making it a place where you can feel like part of their camping community.
In terms of camping amenities, Newport RV Park offers "many very nice full hookup sites." This is a significant advantage for RV travelers, providing the convenience of water, electricity, and sewer connections directly at your campsite. These full hookups contribute to a more comfortable and hassle-free camping experience, allowing you to fully enjoy your time exploring the area without worrying about basic utilities.
However, it's important to present a balanced perspective, and some reviews have pointed out areas for potential improvement. One guest noted that while the campground is nice and close to attractions, the cleanliness of certain facilities could be better. Specifically, the laundry room floor was described as "very dirty," possibly not having been swept for an extended period. The laundry facilities include two washers and two dryers, which, while older, were reported to be inexpensive to operate.
The same reviewer also commented on the cleanliness of the bathrooms and individual shower rooms. While stating that the bathrooms were "just clean enough," the individual shower rooms were described as dirty, with dirty floors, ceilings, and corners. Mold growth was observed in at least one of the shower rooms. The reviewer suggested that the cleaning focus seemed to be primarily on toilets and sinks, with other areas being neglected. This feedback indicates that while the basic necessities are addressed, a more thorough cleaning regimen in these areas could enhance the overall guest experience.
Despite these cleanliness concerns in specific areas, the same reviewer acknowledged that Newport RV Park is "otherwise a nice campground close to many attractions." This highlights a key benefit of choosing this location: its proximity to the diverse offerings of Newport and the surrounding areas. Whether you're interested in historic mansions, scenic coastal drives, delicious seafood, or vibrant downtown activities, Newport RV Park provides a convenient basecamp.
One important factor to consider, as mentioned by a guest, is the traffic when traveling out of the campground towards the city centers. A relatively short distance of approximately 5 miles could potentially take up to 30 minutes to travel due to heavy traffic. Therefore, it's advisable to factor in travel time when planning your day trips and excursions from the campground.
In summary, Newport RV Park presents itself as a welcoming and conveniently located option for those seeking "camping near me" in the Newport, Rhode Island area. Its standout features include a remarkably helpful and knowledgeable staff who foster a sense of community among campers, and the availability of many desirable full hookup sites for RVs. The park's proximity to Newport's attractions makes it an excellent choice for exploring the region. While some guests have pointed out areas for improvement regarding the cleanliness of the laundry room and shower facilities, the overall sentiment leans towards a positive camping experience, especially when considering the friendly service and convenient location.
For local users looking for a reliable "camping near me" option that provides essential amenities and a friendly atmosphere, Newport RV Park is worth considering. Its full hookup sites cater specifically to RVers looking for a comfortable stay, and the positive feedback regarding the staff suggests a commitment to guest satisfaction. While being mindful of potential traffic and the noted cleanliness issues in certain areas, the park's strengths, particularly its location and staff, make it a viable choice for your next camping adventure in the Newport area. We encourage you to contact them directly at (401) 682-2424 or +1 401-682-2424 to learn more and book your stay.

Nov 26, 2024 · Brianna MarnellCampground has many very nice full hookup sites. Laundry room floor very dirty. Probably hasn’t been swept in weeks. Washers and dryers (2 of each) were old however inexpensive to operate. The bathrooms are just clean enough however the individual shower rooms were dirty. Floors dirty, ceilings and corners dirty and mold growing in at least one of them (I did not inspect each one). It seems the focus is to clean the toilets and sinks and the rest goes unattended to. Basic cleanliness was missed by the management team. Otherwise a nice campground close to many attractions however traffic is heavy as you travel out of the campground and towards the city centers. A 5 mile trip can easily take 30 minutes to travel.
Sep 06, 2024 · T BrettGreat campground, very quiet and peaceful. Large space for our 43ft fifth wheel. Close to areas we wanted to visit. Cliff walks, downtown Newport and the wharf.
Oct 28, 2024 · Kris KrawczykPros: Clean, friendly and helpful staff, nice showers/restrooms, playground, shaded spots, ice cream truck comes through in the evening, level sites, next door to a beautiful dog park, very quiet at night, close to restaurants and Newport.Cons: Showers and dumpsters located in the center and entry of the park only, one way loop so if you're at the end of the park, you have to go all the way through the park at 5 mph to get to your space, overpriced ($80 per night) for the full hookup pull through sites at the top of the hill, no picnic table, no fire pit, no shade, and the sites were so close you can't open your awning.
Sep 27, 2024 · A Divine CanineSuch an unpleasant experience coming to this place. We came at 1am, we didn’t make the reservation online (our mistake), we wanted to pay, but there was nobody at the front desk so figured out that we’re going to do it in the morning. We were woken up at 7 am by staff member with the dog. She told us to come immediately to the office to pay. They were standing above our tent until we stood up. On top of that dog got off the leash, which seemed very uncomfortable. We came to the office and she was very unprofessional, telling us that we are harming the environment (by sleeping there) and that we have to pay for RV spot charge- even though we had only tent (they had different & lower tent charges). After paying, we came back to the tent, they followed us and they were standing there staring at us for the whole time while we were folding our tent despite that we paid for everything.Hope that somebody else had better experience, but for me this was the worst one that I ever had!!!
