North 40 Campground Introduce
Are you searching for the perfect escape into nature, a place to unwind and reconnect with the outdoors? If you're looking for "camping near me" in the Lock Haven, Pennsylvania area, North 40 Campground might be a location to consider. Situated at Lock Haven, PA 17745, USA, this campground has seemingly offered a camping experience for a significant amount of time, as indicated by a long-term camper's review.
Based on available information, North 40 Campground is described by one reviewer as a "beautiful & peaceful place to visit if you are trying to get away from the rat race of the world." This suggests that the campground might offer a serene and tranquil environment, potentially surrounded by natural beauty that allows visitors to relax and enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. For local users seeking a quiet retreat close to home, this could be an appealing aspect.
However, it's important to consider all available feedback. Another review paints a different picture, highlighting potential concerns that prospective campers should be aware of. This review mentions issues with payment tracking by the new owners and a lack of receipts for payments. Infrastructure inadequacies are also cited, specifically mentioning the inability to run air conditioning in the summer. Furthermore, the review raises concerns about the potability of the water and the absence of activities for children. This long-term camper also indicates that they are selling their camper and suggests negative interactions with the current owner affecting potential buyers.
Considering these contrasting viewpoints is crucial for local users exploring "camping near me" options. While the description suggests a potentially beautiful and peaceful setting, the more critical review points to significant operational and amenity-related issues that could impact a camper's experience. Potential visitors might want to weigh these points carefully when making their decision.
As a platform dedicated to "camping near me," providing comprehensive information is key. While specific details about services and features are limited in the provided text, we can infer some possibilities based on the nature of campgrounds in general. Typically, campgrounds offer spaces for various types of camping, including:
- Tent camping sites for those who prefer a more traditional outdoor experience.
- RV camping sites equipped with necessary hookups, although the review mentions potential issues with electrical capacity for air conditioning.
Beyond the basic camping sites, campgrounds often provide amenities to enhance the visitor experience. However, based on the provided review, it's unclear what amenities are currently fully functional or available at North 40 Campground. Traditionally, one might expect to find:
- Restroom and shower facilities. The review's mention of undrinkable water might also suggest potential issues with these facilities.
- Water access points, although the quality is questioned in the review.
- Electrical hookups for RVs, but again, capacity seems to be a concern.
- Recreational areas or activities. The review explicitly states "there is nothing for the kids to do," indicating a potential lack in this area.
Promotional information is not available in the provided text. Therefore, we cannot comment on any special offers, discounts, or unique selling points the campground might be currently promoting to attract local users searching for "camping near me."
In conclusion, North 40 Campground in Lock Haven, PA, presents a mixed picture based on the limited information available. One review highlights its potential for a peaceful natural escape, which could be appealing to local users seeking tranquility. However, another review raises significant concerns regarding management, infrastructure, water quality, and the lack of children's activities. For local users exploring "camping near me," it would be prudent to seek more up-to-date information and possibly recent reviews from other campers to get a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of North 40 Campground before making a decision.
When considering campgrounds in your local area, it's always recommended to:
- Check multiple online review platforms for a balanced perspective.
- Contact the campground directly to inquire about current amenities, services, and any recent updates or improvements.
- Ask about specific concerns raised in reviews, such as payment procedures, water quality, and electrical capacity.
- If possible, visit the campground beforehand to assess the environment and facilities firsthand.
By taking these steps, local users searching for "camping near me" can make informed decisions and find the campground that best suits their needs and expectations for a memorable outdoor experience.

North 40 Campground Reviews
Steer clear folks . We have had a camper here for almost 30 years. The new owners lack the ability to keep track of your payments . They refuse to give recipes for payments . The infrastructure is not adequate and you can not run your AC in the summer. You can't drink the water and there is nothing for the kids to do . Our camper is for sale currently . The owner has made every perspective buyer walk away . Long story short we lived this place until the new owner and his son. Took it . This use to be a wonderful place now we can't wait to cut ties .Warren is a snake point blank
