Based on recent feedback from delighted visitors, the environment at North Karick Lake Recreation Area is a significant draw. The campground is situated around Karick Lake, offering some campsites with lake views, as noted by one reviewer who stayed at site 12. The presence of the lake naturally suggests opportunities for water-related activities, although fishing was the only one explicitly mentioned in the reviews. The surrounding area likely features the natural beauty of Northwest Florida, with woodlands and the serene lake as central environmental elements. The existence of the Karick Lake Loop Trail further emphasizes the opportunity to immerse oneself in the natural environment through hiking.
In terms of services and facilities, North Karick Lake Recreation Area appears to be well-maintained and caters to both tent and potentially RV campers. One reviewer specifically mentioned the presence of "separate bathrooms and showers for men and women," and importantly, noted that these facilities were "well maintained." The availability of hot water and great water pressure in the showers adds to the comfort and convenience for campers. For those requiring power, the reviewer at site 12 confirmed access to a "30 amp power box" as well as "water at our site," indicating that at least some campsites are equipped with electrical and water hookups. The features of North Karick Lake Recreation Area seem to be centered around enjoying the natural environment and providing essential camping amenities. These features include:

- Lake Views: Some sites, such as site 12, offer views of Karick Lake.
- Electrical Hookups: At least some sites (e.g., site 12) provide 30 amp power.
- Water Hookups: Available at some campsites, enhancing convenience.
- Well-Maintained Bathrooms and Showers: Separate facilities for men and women with hot water and good water pressure.
- Karick Lake Loop Trail: An enjoyable hiking trail around the lake, perfect for exploring the surroundings.
- Campfire Opportunities: Campers can collect sticks for campfires, adding to the traditional camping experience.

- Spacious Sites: During a period of limited occupancy due to Covid-19, campers were spaced out, suggesting potentially generous site sizes.
One minor consideration for tent campers choosing sites near the bathrooms (specifically mentioned for sites 12 and 13) is the potential annoyance of the bathroom light at night if pure darkness is desired. This is a small trade-off for the convenience of being close to the facilities but is worth noting for those particularly sensitive to light while sleeping in a tent.
The review mentioning a fishing trip, while not resulting in a large catch, still highlighted a "good time" and the quiet and clean environment, further reinforcing the appeal of North Karick Lake Recreation Area for those seeking a peaceful outdoor experience. The desire of the reviewer to do a camping trip there one day speaks to the positive impression of the location.

North Karick Lake Recreation Area Reviews
We stayed 3 nights at the North Karick Lake campgrounds and really enjoyed our time there. There are a total of 16 sites, one of which is the camp Host site. Due to Covid-19, there were limited spaces available. We were only 1 of 3 or 4 other campers there and they had us all spaced way out. We stayed at site 12 which backs up to the bathrooms but still had a lake view in the distance. Just note that if you choose site 12 or 13 near the bathrooms you will have to put up with the light that can be annoying if you want pure darkness while tent camping like us. The facilities were well maintained with separate bathrooms and showers for men and women. There was hot water and the showers had great water pressure. We had access to both a 30 amp power box and water at our site. It was very peaceful! The Karick Lake Loop Trail around the lake was also enjoyable to hike. We were able to find plenty of sticks every night to get some great campfires going. We would absolutely stay again!
Mar 18, 2021 · Allison ChuncoMy son came for a visit, and we took him fishing. We didn't really catch much, but we did have a good time. It was quiet and clean. Wouldn't mind doing a camping trip there one day
Apr 03, 2023 · ElizabethSpent 3 nights here. We were tent camping, so the 4th night we scheduled (hope we can get a refund for it) we had to pack up and go to Hometown Inn and Suites (will review with less stars) due to incoming storms. Our site was on the lake and it is a beautiful place. Bob, the campground host, was very nice and helpful. The bath house/restroom was nice and clean, with magazines provided. The advertised 3.8 mile trail was not a hard walk, but it was approximately 1.4 miles longer, unless we did something wrong. I am not sure how we did. The dumpster at this site is in a ridiculous place, but not enough issues for it to lose a star or two. The squirrels here are pretty gangster tho. They may or may not have stolen trash, food, my shorts and ripped the screen on my tent. Nothing has been confirmed, other than the missing food and trash. One of these little beasts stole the chex mix and sat on the table and taunted us. Then one tried to take my bag of coffee, we won that round, nobody takes my coffee. Watch out for the gangster squad of squirrels and you will have a great time.
May 05, 2019 · Dixie MaeBeautiful lake side camping. The hiking trail is just under 4 miles to complete circle the lake. Each campsite has a firepit with a cooking grate on it. Bring charcoal or tools to gatther firewood from down trees. Boat ramp for electric motors only.
