Ocean Shores Outdoor Recreation Club Introduce
Are you looking for "camping near me" with a unique coastal experience? Consider the Ocean Shores Outdoor Recreation Club, located in Ocean Shores, Washington. Based on feedback from members and visitors, this club offers a blend of community, beach access, and opportunities for outdoor enjoyment. While it operates as a membership-based club, understanding its environment, potential services, and features can help local users determine if it aligns with their camping and recreational interests.
Environment: Coastal Beauty with Beach Access
The primary environmental highlight of the Ocean Shores Outdoor Recreation Club is its proximity to the ocean. One member specifically mentions a "short walk through the dunes to the ocean," indicating easy and direct access to the sandy beaches of Ocean Shores. This coastal location provides a unique camping environment, different from inland forests or mountains. You can expect the sights and sounds of the Pacific Ocean, including the potential for beachcombing, enjoying sunsets over the water, and the fresh sea air. The mention of driving onto the beach (though by a visitor who may not have stayed at the club itself) suggests the broader Ocean Shores area offers this unique feature, particularly for those with 4-wheel drive vehicles. The club itself is situated amongst this coastal landscape, with members having the opportunity to personalize their lots, as one review noted the enjoyment of fixing up a previously neglected lot.
The surrounding area of Ocean Shores is also noteworthy, with mentions of hotels, motels, eateries, gift shops, and rental places for bikes, boats, and "sand surfing boats on wheels." This suggests that while the Recreation Club itself might offer a more community-focused camping experience, it's located within an area rich in tourist amenities and activities.
Services: A Member-Focused Community
The reviews suggest a strong sense of community within the Ocean Shores Outdoor Recreation Club. One long-term member highlights that "all our neighbors are super friendly, everyone looks out for everyone." This indicates a welcoming and supportive atmosphere among the members. While specific amenities within the club are not detailed in these reviews, the focus on membership implies that there are shared facilities and services available to members. These could potentially include common areas, utilities hookups at individual lots (though not explicitly stated), and possibly organized activities or events for members. The positive feedback regarding the current Board/Management ("People are working hard to keep the Club up to its high standards!") suggests that the club is actively managed and striving to provide a positive experience for its members.
It's important to note that as a "club," access and services might primarily be geared towards members. Local users interested in camping here would likely need to inquire about membership options and what they entail.
Features: Beach Proximity and Community Spirit
The standout features of the Ocean Shores Outdoor Recreation Club appear to be its excellent beach access and the strong sense of community among its members. The ability to easily walk to the ocean is a significant draw for those who enjoy coastal activities. The friendly and supportive neighborly environment enhances the overall experience for members, creating a sense of belonging and security. The opportunity for members to personalize and improve their lots also suggests a degree of ownership and pride within the community.
While the review from the beach visitor doesn't directly comment on the club's features, it highlights the broader attractions of Ocean Shores, such as the ability to drive on the beach, diverse dining options, and recreational rentals, which are all likely accessible to members of the Recreation Club due to its location.

Ocean Shores Outdoor Recreation Club Reviews
We’ve been members since October 2020, and have never regretted our decision. All our neighbors are super friendly, everyone looks out for everyone. Our lot had been neglected by the previous owner and we’ve had so much fun getting it fixed up to be just the way we want it. Short walk through the dunes to the ocean. The Board/Management has changed and since we have nothing to compare it to, we have zero complaints. People are working hard to keep the Club up to its high standards!
Jun 07, 2021 · Kris CompagnoDrove out onto the Beach in the Sand and parked wherever we wanted, but I have 4 wheel drive truck. Many Hotels/Motels, eateries, gift shops and rental places for Bikes, Boats & Sand Surfing boats on wheels! Lots of things to do and see, but you can't do it all in one day. We took our dog on a leash while cruising the beach.
Apr 13, 2021 · Teresa or David EnglishWonderful little community, just a short walk from the beach. Great playground and heated outdoor pool!
Aug 25, 2018 · Taylor VinkesThis is a great community and a very relaxing place to come visit... If you are lucky enough to own a plot you have a little slice of heaven only a few hours away from Seattle :-)
Sep 06, 2016 · Stuart WoodI've been coming here since I was born and it's always been so well taken care of and well staffed. Easy access to the beach through dune trails and a pool that is always clean. The summer events they have for kids around the 4th of July are great to see every year. The in-site kids park is well maintained and safe. I can honestly say this is my favorite place to be all the time.
