Environment and Location:
Tidelands Campgrounds boasts a peaceful location with direct access to a stunning stretch of wild coastline. Imagine waking up to the sound of crashing waves and stepping directly onto the sandy beach. This proximity to the ocean is a major draw for visitors, offering opportunities for leisurely walks, beachcombing, and enjoying breathtaking sunsets. The area is known for its natural beauty, and visitors have reported sightings of diverse wildlife, including brown pelicans, adding to the charm of this coastal haven.
The campground itself offers a mix of sheltered campsites, providing a sense of privacy and protection from the elements. This is particularly appreciated during the occasional coastal rains, and as one reviewer noted, the hosts are even thoughtful enough to lend tarps to unprepared campers. The natural surroundings contribute to a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal place to unwind and reconnect with nature.
Conveniently located just a short distance from the campground, visitors will find a wonderful market and a friendly bar and grill. This proximity to local amenities adds to the convenience of staying at Tidelands, allowing campers to easily access groceries, supplies, and dining options without having to travel far.
Services and Amenities:
While Tidelands Campgrounds offers a fantastic location and a welcoming atmosphere, it's important to be aware of the specific services and amenities available. Currently, the campsites are equipped with 30-amp electrical service. It's worth noting that sewer hookups and a dump station are not available on-site. Additionally, Wi-Fi access is not provided, and cell service in the area can be spotty. Campers planning an extended stay or those reliant on these services should plan accordingly.
The water source at Tidelands comes from an artisan well, which is rich in minerals. While some visitors find the taste to be slightly sulfurous, others have found it acceptable, especially after letting it sit for a while. For those with a preference for a different taste, bringing bottled water might be a consideration.
Despite some of the basic amenities being limited, the positive aspects of Tidelands Campgrounds shine through in the experiences shared by visitors. The friendly and accommodating hosts, Dave and Sabrina, are frequently mentioned for their kindness and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure guests are comfortable. Their flexibility in accommodating changing travel plans, as noted by one reviewer whose adult children arrived at different times, highlights their commitment to customer satisfaction.
Features and Highlights:
The standout feature of Tidelands Campgrounds is undoubtedly its direct beach access. The ability to walk straight from your campsite onto the beach is a rare and highly valued amenity. This allows for spontaneous beach activities, from morning strolls and sandcastle building to evening bonfires and stargazing.
The welcoming and relaxed vibe of the campground is another significant highlight. Visitors consistently praise the friendly atmosphere created by the hosts and the sense of community among the campers. This makes Tidelands a place where you can truly unwind and enjoy a stress-free getaway.
For families with children, the campground offers a unique and memorable experience. One reviewer recounted a delightful "visit" from Sasquatch on a Saturday night, which was a source of great fun and entertainment for the kids. While this might be an occasional or themed event, it speaks to the playful and engaging atmosphere that the hosts strive to create.
The pet-friendly policy of Tidelands Campgrounds is another significant advantage for many travelers. Being able to bring your furry companions along on your coastal adventure enhances the overall experience for pet owners.
Promotional Information:
While specific promotional offers may vary, Tidelands Campgrounds appears to offer discounts to members of organizations like Escapees RV Club. One reviewer mentioned receiving a discounted rate of $50 per night with this membership for a 30-amp site. It is advisable to inquire about any current discounts or special rates when making your reservation.
Given the positive reviews regarding the hospitality and the unique location, Tidelands Campgrounds encourages local users searching under 'camping near me' to consider booking their next coastal getaway here. Experience the tranquility of the Washington coast, the friendliness of the hosts, and the joy of direct beach access. Whether you are planning a solo retreat, a family vacation, or a weekend escape with friends, Tidelands offers a memorable camping experience.

Tidelands Campgrounds Reviews
Peaceful location. Friendly staff. Nice access to the beach. This is definitely worth three stars. I paid $50/night (and that is supposedly with the Escapees discount) and got a site with 30 amps. No sewer. No dump station. No wifi and spotty cell service. Generally if I pay that much I get full hookups, 50 amps and wifi.
Oct 22, 2024 · Michael MillerWhat a beautiful, wild piece of coast! We saw so many brown pelicans! Our hosts, Dave and Sabrina, were kind and did everything to make us comfortable. We loved our campsite because it was sheltered, but we also loved being able to walk straight out onto the beach. Our adult kids kept arriving in shifts, and everyone was really flexible. Kevin even loaned us tarps when it rained, and we weren't equipped. There's a wonderful market and a friendly bar and grill just up the road. What more could you need? I learned that the water on the property comes from an artisan well, which is rich in minerals but a little sulfurous for my taste. I might bring bottled next time though it was fine if you left it out for a bit. We loved the relaxed vibe and the good fun! Sasquatch came to visit on Saturday night and hang with the kiddos! What a hoot! We'll definitely be back. Thanks for everything!
Aug 27, 2024 · Kathryn TruebloodThis place is great. Owners are friendly, nice grounds, good bathrooms, beach access.
Mar 03, 2025 · Justin BurkholderLove this place. We camped out here for the last 6 years and had a great camping trip every time. The owner is awesome! It's low key simple here. The short walk to the beach is such a treat. I like to come here and unwind unplug. The shower is nice because I don't have one in my pop up camper. If you get an opportunity to camp⁸ not that far from the town. Thanks, Dave, for always taking care of us and booking our favorite spot.
Jul 11, 2023 · RPM Repair Performance MaintenanceLove this placeI've been camping here for 40 years, starting as a single Mom with 3 boys and now with my hubby. The boys still camp here with their families. Same site, too.The owners have done a wonderful job of upgrading and improving the grounds. The bath/shower house has been upgraded. The grounds are clean, mowed, lots of choices of sites, basketball court, horseshoe pitI can't say enough about why I love camping here. Here's to another 40 years.
