Oklahoma Campground Introduce
For local users in Washington State searching for "camping near me," Oklahoma Campground, situated near Cook, WA 98605, offers a potential option for an outdoor getaway. The address "NF-18" suggests that this campground is likely located within or near a National Forest, which in this region of Washington typically refers to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. This implies an environment characterized by natural beauty, including forests, rivers, and possibly mountainous terrain, offering opportunities for various outdoor activities.
According to customer reviews, Oklahoma Campground appears to have some positive attributes. One reviewer described it as "quiet and well kept," suggesting a peaceful and clean camping environment, which are often high priorities for those seeking a relaxing outdoor experience. This reviewer, who stayed at site 1, also noted that the site was spacious, providing ample room for their setup. Furthermore, they mentioned the proximity of another camper in site 2 but indicated that they were not disturbed by them, suggesting reasonable spacing or considerate neighbors at least in that particular instance.
The presence of "one water pump" was also noted by the same reviewer, although they did not personally use it. The availability of a water source within a campground is a significant convenience for campers, reducing the need to carry large amounts of water. However, the fact that there is only one pump might suggest that access to water could be limited depending on the campground's size and the number of occupants.
Another reviewer echoed the sentiment about the campground being "spotless," reinforcing the idea that cleanliness is a notable characteristic of Oklahoma Campground. This is a crucial aspect for a positive camping experience, as clean facilities contribute to comfort and hygiene.
However, this second reviewer also raised a significant concern regarding the layout of some campsites. They specifically mentioned that site 5 was "right on top of site (4)," suggesting a lack of adequate space and privacy between these particular sites. This close proximity might be undesirable for campers seeking a secluded experience, especially if they are not part of a large group occupying both sites. The reviewer explicitly advised individuals or smaller groups to "steer clear of renting these spots" to avoid feeling crowded.
Additionally, the second reviewer expressed disappointment with the size of the grill provided at their site, stating that it "wasn’t big enough to cook on." While a seemingly minor detail, the availability of a functional grill can be important for campers who plan to cook their meals outdoors. A grill that is too small can be inconvenient and detract from the overall camping experience.
Based on these limited reviews, the environment of Oklahoma Campground is likely natural and forested, given its proximity to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. This suggests opportunities for hiking, exploring nature, and enjoying a relatively quiet setting. The presence of a water pump indicates a basic amenity for accessing water, though its capacity might be a consideration.
In terms of services and features, Oklahoma Campground appears to offer:
- Relatively spacious campsites (at least site 1)
- Picnic tables (implied by the presence of grills, though not explicitly stated)
- Fire rings or grills at campsites (though the size of at least one grill was reported as inadequate)
- At least one water pump for accessing water
- A generally clean and well-kept campground environment
However, potential downsides or limitations to be aware of include:
- Some campsites may be very close to each other (e.g., sites 4 and 5), potentially reducing privacy.
- The size of the grills at some sites might be too small for practical cooking.
- The limited number of water pumps might lead to congestion or inconvenience depending on the number of campers.
Missing information that would be beneficial for local users considering Oklahoma Campground includes:
- The total number of campsites and their types (e.g., tent-only, RV suitability and size limits).
- Whether reservations are required or if it operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The type of toilet facilities available (e.g., vault toilets, flush toilets).
- Whether there are fees associated with camping.
- Regulations regarding campfires and firewood.
- Pet policies.
- Information about trash disposal.
- Details about parking at the campsites.
- Accessibility information for individuals with disabilities.
- Specific rules or guidelines for campers.
- Information about nearby attractions or hiking trails within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest accessible from the campground.
There is no promotional information available in the provided data. Therefore, we cannot highlight any special offers or unique marketing aspects of Oklahoma Campground. The primary positive takeaways from the reviews are its quiet atmosphere and cleanliness. The main concerns raised are the potentially cramped spacing of some campsites and the inadequate size of at least one grill.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Cook, WA area, Oklahoma Campground presents a mixed picture based on the limited feedback. While the campground is appreciated for its cleanliness and quiet environment, the potential for closely spaced campsites and issues with amenities like grill size are factors to consider. Prospective campers might want to inquire about the specific layout of the sites they are considering booking and the condition of amenities. Contacting the phone number provided, (541) 338-7869, which might connect to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest service or the campground management, could provide valuable additional information to help local users make an informed decision about whether Oklahoma Campground is the right choice for their camping needs.

Oklahoma Campground Reviews
It was quiet and well kept. I was in site 1 and there was plenty of room. We had someone in 2 but didn't hear them really. There is one water pump although I didn't use it. I'd go back.
Aug 27, 2024 · JeremyI agree, the campground is spotless! But the site I was in (5) was, right on top of site (4). Unless you have a big group, I’d steer clear of renting these spots. And the grill wasn’t big enough to cook on. Very disappointing.
Jun 11, 2022 · Jodi McKeanCOUGAR SIGHTING AT CAMPGROUND ENTRANCE - LABOR DAY WKEND 2024!This campground was clean and very quiet, even though there was lot of in-and-out traffic throughout the days we were there. We were disappointed in how close the camp sites were to each other, many were two sites immediately adjacent with no separation between them! Some are listed as being suitable for a RV/trailer, but in reality it would be a very tight fit. The site we had reserved turned out to be much to sloped for our small trailer to be level. Fortunately a FC/FS site was open and we switched sites, even though it cost us extra. There was no camp host on site, and one from another campground stopped by once in the four days we were there. We had no AT&T cell service.
Sep 03, 2024 · JennyIt was spotless, big enough for three tents. Lots of trees around, so very shaded, which was perfect for a hot weekend. Bathrooms were really clean and the water pump worked just fine. Very refreshing and tasty water. The only problem was yellow jackets. Lots and lots of them!
Aug 13, 2023 · HEESOOKI drive by this campground often and am always amazed at how PACKED it is. To others points it is spotless, but it also off the main road leading deeper into the woods. As far as prices go it's about what you expect but based on your spot you could be right on top of others.
