Peaceful-Get-Away Cabin Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Beattyville, Kentucky area, Peaceful-Get-Away Cabin, located at 1158 Mill Creek Rd, Beattyville, KY 41311, USA, presents a seemingly tranquil option for a cabin stay. However, recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture regarding the cleanliness, maintenance, amenities, and overall guest experience at this property. Potential visitors should carefully consider these points before booking a stay.
The environment surrounding Peaceful-Get-Away Cabin is described by one reviewer as "peaceful" and located in a "remote area." Beattyville is situated in Lee County, which is known for its natural beauty, including parts of the Red River Gorge and the Daniel Boone National Forest. This suggests that the cabin might be nestled in a scenic and quiet location, potentially appealing to those seeking solitude and immersion in nature. However, the remoteness also comes with a caveat, as one reviewer noted that it is a minimum 20-minute drive to reach anything, including hiking trails. This is an important consideration for guests who plan to engage in outdoor activities or need access to local amenities.
Services and amenities at Peaceful-Get-Away Cabin appear to be lacking in several key areas, according to recent reviews. Cleanliness is a significant concern, with one guest reporting that the cabin needed a "good deep clean," specifically mentioning dust-covered fan blades and doors. Basic supplies also seem to be an issue, as one review noted the absence of washcloths despite the provision of towels, and a delayed response when more towels were requested. Another guest reported a lack of essential items such as toilet paper and trash bags upon arrival. While the owner is described as "nice" by one reviewer, this positive interaction seems overshadowed by the deficiencies in the property itself.
Features of the cabin, based on the negative feedback, include uncomfortable living room seating and a malfunctioning refrigerator (missing a handle). The stove is described as "tiny," which might limit cooking options for guests planning to prepare their own meals. A particularly concerning feature is the "dirty" hot tub, which would detract significantly from the relaxation aspect that a cabin rental often promises. Furthermore, one reviewer stated that the cabin is "falling apart" and not well-maintained, mentioning "two broken futons" that their children had to sleep on. These issues suggest a lack of attention to upkeep and the provision of basic comfort for guests.
The availability of a pond is mentioned as a potential feature, with one guest initially told they could fish in it, only to be "screamed at" later for doing so, as it was deemed a private pond. This inconsistency and the negative interaction highlight a potential issue with communication or clarity regarding the use of amenities. Another guest mentioned being told they could not swim in the pond until the owners' children wanted to join, further illustrating a lack of consistent rules and potentially intrusive management.
A particularly disturbing aspect raised in one review is the feeling of being constantly watched and listened to by the owners whenever the guests were outside. This lack of privacy would significantly detract from the sense of peacefulness and relaxation that the cabin's name implies. The reviewer also mentioned an attempt to sympathize with the owner regarding the loss of a pet, but felt that their own recent loss was not met with the same understanding, especially in light of the way they were treated.
There is no positive promotional information to be gleaned from the recent reviews. Instead, the overwhelming sentiment is negative, with both reviewers strongly advising others not to stay at Peaceful-Get-Away Cabin and stating that they will never return. One reviewer explicitly stated, "Do not stay here," underscoring the severity of their dissatisfaction. The fact that one guest felt the need to mention the high cost relative to the poor condition and lack of amenities suggests that the pricing might not align with the value provided.
For local users searching for "camping near me" and considering a cabin stay for a peaceful getaway, the recent feedback on Peaceful-Get-Away Cabin raises significant red flags. The reported issues with cleanliness, maintenance, uncomfortable furnishings, inconsistent information about amenities, lack of essential supplies, and a perceived lack of privacy are serious concerns that should not be overlooked. While the location might be peaceful and the owner initially seemed nice to one guest, these positives are overshadowed by the numerous negative experiences reported by others.
Given the overwhelmingly negative reviews and the specific issues raised, local users are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution when considering Peaceful-Get-Away Cabin. It would be prudent to explore alternative cabin rentals or campgrounds in the Beattyville area that have more positive and consistent feedback regarding cleanliness, amenities, and guest relations. If potential guests still wish to consider this property, they should contact the owner directly using the provided phone numbers, (606) 560-9151 or +1 606-560-9151, to ask detailed questions about the current condition of the cabin, the availability of amenities, and the policies regarding their use. It would also be wise to inquire about cleaning protocols and ensure that essential supplies are provided.
In conclusion, despite its name, recent customer reviews suggest that Peaceful-Get-Away Cabin near Beattyville, KY, is currently falling short of providing a positive and comfortable experience for its guests. The reported issues with cleanliness, maintenance, amenities, and privacy are significant concerns. Local users searching for "camping near me" and considering a cabin rental in this area should carefully weigh the negative feedback and potentially explore other options to ensure a more satisfactory and genuinely peaceful getaway.

Peaceful-Get-Away Cabin Reviews
The beds were comfortable, but that was about the only good thing I can say. The house needs a good deep clean (the blades on the fan are COVERED in dust, along with the doors, etc). They gave us towels, but no wash cloths. When we asked for more towels, they said they would try to see what they could do & then were delivered about 12 hours later. The living room area is ok, but none of the seating is comfortable. The fridge didn't have a handle. The stove is tiny. The hot tub was dirty. I expect a little more, when spending this much. I know this is a remote area, but it is a minimum 20 minute drive to get to anything, even hiking. It is peaceful & the owner seemed nice.
Aug 12, 2024 · Lori ADo not stay here. Told we could fish and then got screamed at that it's a private pond. Other reviews said we could swim in the pond and we were told no, til their kids wanted to hang out. The cabin is falling apart. Things falling apart and not up kept. Two broken futons is what my kids had to sleep on. No toilet paper, trash bags, nothing. Which fine I'll buy it but for what we paid those should be included. My biggest issue was every time we were outside they were out there watching and listening. * tried to sympathize bc they lost their dog but I told them I just lost mine as well and I would never treat anyone the way she did. Will never be back!
Jul 26, 2024 · Kristina HubbardThis really is "A Peaceful Getaway!" A stocked pond you only share with the owners. A hot tub to stay warm while checking out all those stars. The cabin is not huge, but it is roomy. For us it was the perfect size. 5 of us. My husband and I went last year for our honeymoon too, if that tells you how much we love it. The owners are amazing. Altho they live on the otherwise of the pond, you don't feel like your being watched over. They checked on us, but otherwise left us to relax. They were always very attentive to answering questions or help if needed. If you need a getaway, you should go. We are going back again next year.
Oct 02, 2022 · Kristina JonesThis is an ok cabin. It is not the best cabin I've stayed in, but it's not the worst either.PROS:It's quaint and cozy and has a nice aesthetic. There are several sleeping arrangements available. The deck has a large table and grill. The hot tub is nice and big with lights and a small waterfall, and the owners are super nice and helpful.CONS:There are no working smoke detectors in the cabin. The sofa/futon in the living area is God awful uncomfortable, you are literally inches from the ground. The pool sticks are in bad shape and the foosball table is missing handles. The armoire in the bedroom is broken, and there are several broken blinds throughout. Also the furniture around the fire pit was in disrepair.Additionally:You should also know the owners live on site in a house adjacent to the cabin. They do have several dogs (I love dogs) but they do come to the cabin and they do bark late night and early morning. There's not much in the area as per shopping and dining, but we didn't mind.
Mar 16, 2022 · Brandy L.So disappointed in this place. It looks nice at first then you start to notice things like... Owners dogs were barking outside our bedroom the first night, no smoke detector in the entire cabin, jacuzzi was missing a cover on the filter and felt like your toes were going to get pulled off, bags of trash in the woods out the kitchen window, pool table supplies in disrepair, fire place didn't work, gutters falling off the house
