While the campsites are situated close to one another, fostering a friendly and communal ambiance, each site is thoughtfully equipped with essential amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. You can expect individual water hookups, a picnic table for enjoying meals outdoors, and a fire ring, perfect for cozy evenings under the stars, sharing stories, and roasting marshmallows.
For those needing to stay connected, the campground offers public Wi-Fi access available at the office. According to recent visitors, the Wi-Fi signal may even extend to some campsites, particularly in the quieter evening hours, which can be especially helpful given the limited cell phone coverage in the area. The bathrooms and showers are reported to be exceptionally spotless, setting a high standard for campground hygiene. This dedication to cleanliness contributes significantly to the overall positive experience of guests. For those who enjoy the crackling warmth of a campfire, firewood is available for purchase directly at the campground, saving you the hassle of sourcing it elsewhere. This convenience allows you to easily enjoy this classic camping tradition without unnecessary effort.
One of the standout features of Pemaquid Point Campground, as highlighted by numerous positive reviews, is the peaceful and friendly atmosphere. Fellow campers are often described as considerate and respectful, contributing to a tranquil environment, especially during the evenings. Even when the campground is fully occupied, guests appreciate the quiet hours, allowing for restful nights after a day of exploring the Maine coastline.
Pemaquid Point Campground's location is truly ideal for those seeking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the coast. It serves as a fantastic basecamp for exploring the iconic Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, a mere stone's throw away, with its dramatic rocky shoreline and breathtaking ocean views. The surrounding area offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities, including scenic coastal walks, exploring charming nearby towns like New Harbor and Bristol, and enjoying fresh seafood at local restaurants.
While the close proximity of campsites fosters a sense of community, it's worth noting, as one reviewer thoughtfully pointed out, that those seeking absolute privacy and a secluded natural setting directly at their individual campsite might find this campground more communal than isolated. However, even guests who typically prefer the solitude of state and national parks have expressed their enjoyment of the overall experience at Pemaquid Point Campground, emphasizing the welcoming atmosphere and the prime location for coastal exploration.
The personable nature of the owner is frequently mentioned in reviews, with guests noting their pride in the campground and their dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay for everyone. This personal touch contributes significantly to the positive and welcoming ambiance that sets Pemaquid Point Campground apart.

Pemaquid Point Campground Reviews
Super sweet, family-owned campground, with huge pots of flowers around all the public facilities. Sites are very close together but each site has water, picnic table, fire ring. (The office has public wifi. Once it quieted down Sunday we were able to join their network at our campsite, which was helpful, since we had no cell coverage.) Overall facilities are great. Staff is super nice. Bathrooms and showers are spotless. Laundry, ice, sinks for washing dishes, firewood for sale. Our fellow campers were great. Even though the campground was crowded, they quieted down fairly early in the evenings. If you are tent camping to enjoy the coast, this is a GREAT location. If you're the kind of person who prefers privacy and nature AT YOUR ACTUAL CAMPSITE, might not the best fit. Even though I am the latter sort of person -- usually camp at state and national parks!!! -- and was hesitant when I saw how crowded and close it was when we first arrived on a Saturday.... it worked out great! We really enjoyed being here and I highly recommend it.
Aug 26, 2024 · Julie GarrettIt is very peaceful. Cleanest restrooms I've seen pretty much anywhere, not just at a campground. The owner is very personable and takes pride in this place and it shows. My first time here for a weekend. I will be booking a week for next summer.
Sep 02, 2024 · Joshua DuffyMe and my friends camp every year in Maine and we have been to many campsites throughout the east coast. This is truly one of the best we’ve ever stayed at!! I can’t recommend enough. The bathrooms are super clean, there is hot water and the water pressure in the showers is better than at my house haha it is quiet, in a great location (not by the water just in case you’re looking for that) and the service is great. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. I loved it!!!
Sep 30, 2023 · Tanya HernandezAbsolutely wonderful campground. We were there for a week. Our site was spacious. The park was clean and beautiful. If you like small, quaint and quiet this is the place. Perfect for a relaxing stay. Close to a lot of scenic adventures.
