Ive been coming to Phoenicia for over a decade, from the first time i came to Phoenicia Black Bear campground i felt i was in the right place. The owner George and his wife are extremely cool and laid back they make your stay as humble as possible. Campgrounds offer RV, Overland, Tent camping availability with great locations right on the Esopus creek. The convenience that the office / camp store offers ( firewood, ice, tarps, any last min emergency supplies etc.) they have it all. The main town of Phoenicia is a football fields walk from the campground which holds good restaurants, country store, ice cream shop etc. i will be coming back year after year (phoenicia is my escape from NYC). - H H (UNSP0KENWORD)

The campground boasts a diverse range of camping options to suit various preferences and needs. They offer "RV, Overland, Tent camping availability with great locations right on the Esopus creek." This riverside setting is a major draw, providing beautiful views, the soothing sounds of the water, and easy access for potential water-related activities, although specific details about these activities are not provided in the reviews. Convenience is another key feature of this campground. The presence of an "office / camp store" is highly beneficial for campers. According to one reviewer, it offers a comprehensive range of essential supplies, including "firewood, ice, tarps, any last min emergency supplies etc." Having these items readily available on-site eliminates the stress of forgetting crucial camping necessities or having to make separate trips into town for basic supplies.
