Pinery Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Peoa, Utah area? Pinery Campground, situated at Pinery Picnic Area Rd, Peoa, UT 84061, USA, offers a camping option for those exploring the region. You can contact them at (435) 336-2241 or +1 435-336-2241 for inquiries and reservations. Reviews from individuals who have considered or stayed at Pinery Campground provide some insight into the potential experience, although they present contrasting viewpoints that prospective campers should consider.
One potential camper recounts a negative experience related to the campground's check-in policy. They report arriving at 11:00 AM after a six-hour drive, only to be denied early check-in despite observing that there were few occupants at the campsites. The stated check-in time was 3:00 PM, and the individual was reportedly not allowed to access their reserved site four hours early. As an alternative, they were allegedly offered the option to pay an additional $12 to wait at the marina until the official check-in time. This experience left the potential camper with a negative impression of the customer service, leading them to leave and vow never to return, expressing a somewhat unfavorable initial perception of Utah hospitality.
Conversely, another reviewer shares a positive sentiment, stating, "We had a great experience here and we are definitely excited to come back." This brief but affirmative review suggests that at least some visitors have found Pinery Campground to be a satisfactory and enjoyable camping destination, prompting a desire for a return visit. This contrasting feedback highlights the potential for varied experiences at the campground.
Given the limited information and the conflicting nature of the two reviews, it is challenging to definitively describe the environment, services, and features of Pinery Campground. However, the address "Pinery Picnic Area Rd, Peoa, UT 84061, USA" suggests a likely proximity to natural recreational areas, possibly including picnic facilities as indicated by the road name. The phone number being the same as Hawthorne Campground (reviewed previously) might indicate a shared management or affiliation, potentially suggesting similar basic amenities, although this is speculative and not explicitly stated.
Based on the limited cues, potential aspects of Pinery Campground might include:
- Campsites suitable for tents and possibly RVs (though not explicitly confirmed).
- Proximity to natural areas suitable for outdoor recreation.
- Likely access to basic campground amenities such as restrooms and water (inferred from the potential shared management with Hawthorne Campground, which offered these).
- A check-in policy with a stated time (3:00 PM, as per the negative review).
- Potentially additional fees for early access or use of other facilities (as suggested by the marina waiting offer).
Information regarding specific services like RV hookups (electricity, water, sewer), the nature of the environment (wooded, open, near water bodies), the availability of recreational facilities (hiking trails, picnic areas, etc.), or any specific features of the campsites (fire rings, picnic tables) is not provided in the given text. Therefore, any description of these would be speculative and not based on the information at hand.
Similarly, promotional information is scarce. The positive review indicating a "great experience" and the desire to return serves as a form of positive feedback that could encourage others to consider the campground. However, the negative review detailing the rigid check-in policy and the perceived poor customer service could act as a deterrent for some potential visitors.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Peoa, UT area, Pinery Campground presents a mixed picture based on the limited available feedback. The positive review suggests a potentially enjoyable stay, while the negative review highlights a strict adherence to check-in times and a lack of flexibility that may be off-putting to travelers arriving early. Potential campers might want to inquire specifically about the check-in policy and any potential fees for early arrival or use of facilities.
Given the lack of comprehensive information, it is strongly recommended that interested individuals contact Pinery Campground directly at (435) 336-2241 or +1 435-336-2241 to obtain detailed information about campsite types, amenities, services, fees, and check-in procedures. This direct communication will be crucial in forming an accurate expectation of what the campground offers and whether it aligns with individual camping needs and preferences.
In conclusion, Pinery Campground near Peoa, UT, has received contrasting feedback regarding the camping experience, with one reviewer reporting a negative encounter due to a rigid check-in policy and another expressing a desire for a return visit after a "great experience." Due to the limited details available, prospective campers should directly contact the campground to gather comprehensive information about its environment, services, features, and policies to make an informed decision about their "camping near me" options in the Peoa, Utah area.

Pinery Campground Reviews
Didnt stay. Will not let you check in before 3, hardly anyone at any of the camp sites but still refused to let us check in at 11 so we left. This is very poor customer service, after we drove 6 hours to arrive only offered to let us pay additional 12$ to go sit at the marina for 4 hours until 3pm check in time? Will never return, welcome to utah I guess
