Based on overwhelmingly positive customer reviews, this RV resort offers an impressive array of amenities and a welcoming environment designed to cater to a wide range of campers, especially those with kids.
The environment of Pirates Cove Rrrr V Resort is described as clean and well-cared for, providing a comfortable and enjoyable setting for your camping getaway. The resort boasts flat and paved roads, making it ideal for bike riding and offering easy visibility of children playing. The layout is thoughtfully designed to provide a sense of community while still allowing for personal space between campsites. The resort feels "small enough" for parents to feel comfortable with their kids having a bit more independence while playing, yet "large enough" that campsites are not on top of each other. While the immediate natural surroundings aren't extensively detailed, its location in Foley, Alabama, suggests proximity to the Gulf Coast and potentially other regional attractions, offering a blend of resort-style amenities within a convenient location for local users seeking "camping near me" with access to the broader area.
The services and features at Pirates Cove Rrrr V Resort are consistently praised by reviewers, with a particular emphasis on the exceptional bathhouse facilities. One reviewer enthusiastically declared them "hands down the best one I’ve ever used." The bathhouses feature spacious shower rooms (actual rooms, not stalls) with doors and a large dry area for changing, a significant benefit for families bathing children. The resort offers both indoor and outdoor pool options, catering to all ages with very shallow areas for toddlers, allowing families with young children to stay together and enjoy the water safely. A golf cart rental option is available, which is especially convenient for those located further from the main amenities or for navigating the resort with toddlers.
For families with children, Pirates Cove Rrrr V Resort offers numerous appealing features. The playground with a sand surface (instead of dirt or mulch) is a hit with kids, doubling as a play area for sand toys. The inclusion of an arcade provides an additional source of entertainment, a feature not commonly found at all campgrounds. The resort is also noted for being welcoming to "weekenders" by longer-term guests, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. The availability of text updates with the daily schedule is a thoughtful service that eliminates the need to keep track of paper schedules.
Other notable features include great WiFi access, as mentioned by one reviewer, and the fact that pets are welcome. The staff is consistently described as "super friendly," contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the resort. The ease of booking and check-in, along with clear communication, also adds to a stress-free experience for guests.
While the reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a couple of suggestions for improvement were offered. One reviewer suggested the addition of a camp store for essentials, though noted that a Dollar General is conveniently located about 1.5 miles away. Another suggestion was for clearer signage or more detailed instructions in the pre-arrival email regarding the check-in procedure upon arrival, as there wasn't a clearly designated parking or check-in area immediately apparent.
Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not explicitly mention any current discounts or special offers. However, the strong positive feedback and high likelihood of repeat visitors suggest that the value proposition of Pirates Cove Rrrr V Resort is already compelling for many. Local users interested in potential promotions, seasonal rates, or long-stay discounts, especially given the mention of Midwest couples staying for months during the winter, should contact the resort directly at the provided phone numbers. It's also advisable to check their website or social media pages if available for any advertised specials.
In conclusion, Pirates Cove Rrrr V Resort in Foley, Alabama, offers an exceptional "camping near me" experience, particularly for families with children. The resort boasts outstanding amenities such as spacious and clean bathhouses, indoor and outdoor pools with shallow areas for young kids, a sandy playground, and an arcade. The friendly staff, well-maintained grounds, and thoughtful services like text updates for the daily schedule contribute to a stress-free and enjoyable stay. While a camp store on-site might be a future improvement, the proximity to a Dollar General addresses basic needs. Local users seeking a clean, well-equipped, and family-friendly RV resort in the Foley area will find Pirates Cove Rrrr V Resort to be a highly recommended choice. Don't hesitate to contact them directly to book your stay and experience this top-rated campground for yourself.

Pirates Cove Rrrr V Resort Reviews
I have looked forward to writing this review since we left a few days ago. This is easily in my top 2 campgrounds we have ever stayed at with our kids. First and foremost is a huge high five to the design and layout of the bathhouses. It’s hands down the best one I’ve ever used. The shower rooms (yes…rooms) were so spacious and when you have two kids to bathe with you the bathhouse is usually what ends up making me question all my life choices because it’s so frustrating to bathe and get dressed in a tiny space with wet kids everywhere. The fact that there are multiple showers in each bathhouse with actual doors and a large dry space to change and not get your clothes wet after using the shower was amazing and will be talked about for years to come by me!We camped with another family in side by side spaces and between the two of us we had 1 eight year old, 2 six year olds, and 2 three year olds. The indoor and outdoor pool options were perfect for all ages since both options had very shallow areas for the littles. It was easier for us to all be together and not have to separate. I appreciated that the pools were not super deep as it makes parents have to be extra vigilant with new swimmers. My kids loved that the playground was sand instead of dirt or mulch. It made the playground double entertaining with sand toys we brought. The arcade was a fun touch we usually don’t get to experience at campgrounds and another highly rated item by the kids.We met several couples from the Midwest who stay here for months at a time during the winter and they were all so welcoming to us “weekenders”Other perks from the perspective of a family with multiple ages of kids were flat and paved roads for bike riding and easy views of kids playing and when cars were approaching. The space felt small enough I was comfortable with the kids being a little more independent while playing but large enough that we were spread out and not on top of other spots. You can easily entertain kids in multiple age groups here. There is a golf cart rental option which is nice when you are on the last row and need to get back and forth with toddlers. The campground was very clean and well cared for and communication was easy as well as booking/checking in. The text with the daily schedule was also helpful because you don’t have to keep up with a piece of paper while there. If I had to pick something to improve on I would suggest a camp store with some essentials (but not super necessary because Dollar General is 1 1/2 miles away.)The other piece of feedback would be to give either more signage or details in the e-mail about what to do when you pull in the campground. There is no clear place to park, check in or instructions in the email (that I saw, always possible user error on my part) We ended up driving to our spot and parking there and then walking over to the office because we were very unsure where to pull the camper when we pulled in and what their procedure was.We will be back for sure. I’m already looking for dates to return and have told multiple friends about our experience.
Apr 03, 2025 · Elise VincentThis was our first stay in our new r-pod. Only a mile from home but it was a great stay for our “dry run” in the new camper. They’ve got something for everyone. Very clean bathhouses. Great WiFi. The staff was super friendly! Pets are welcome.
Aug 28, 2024 · Ray ReynoldsThis is a extremely clean park. The restrooms, showers, laundry room, pool's, hot tubs, campsites and grounds are all well maintained. This resort camp ground will text you each morning letting you know about daily and weekly activities and events. Pirates has probably about the most to offer of any resort campground in Folley, Gulf Shores area.Felt like we were very welcomed by the staff and all of our fellow RVer's at the resort. We will be certain to revist here in the future.
Mar 26, 2025 · Trever CochranWe absolutely loved this place! We were parked right next to the pool/playground area and my daughter had a ball playing at the playground. We only got in the pool once since it was October and the water was a little chilly but the pool area is very nice. The bathroom/shower rooms were very nice as well. We will definitely be back!
Oct 25, 2023 · Tara ArnoldThis is one of the nicest campgrounds that we have ever stayed at! The office staff was very nice and friendly! When we checked in we asked for restaurant recommendations. They did not disappoint! The Tin Top Restaurant and Oyster Bar was amazing! The facilities were well maintained and clean! The grounds keepers were very nice and friendly. They do an amazing job keeping everything in good condition. The sites are huge concrete pads! They are very wide allowing you to have plenty of room for your camper and outside area. Plus each site has a grass area and picnic table. This park is loaded with activities! Nice pool, hot tub, community fire pit and swings, basket ball ball courts, playground, pool tables, card tables, and a pond to fish in. It had rained the morning we came in and for the most part the sites were dry and draining. A few low areas but not too bad. We will definitely be back for a longer stay!
