Postcard Cabins Eastern Catskills Introduce
For local users in New York and surrounding areas seeking a memorable "camping near me" experience that blends the comfort of a cabin with the beauty of nature, Postcard Cabins Eastern Catskills, located at 282 Cairo Junction Rd, Catskill, NY 12414, USA, offers a unique retreat. Situated in the heart of the Eastern Catskill Mountains, this destination has garnered affection for its picturesque setting and distinctive cabin accommodations, though recent changes in ownership have impacted pricing.
The environment of the Eastern Catskills is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, characterized by rolling mountains, dense forests, winding streams, and breathtaking vistas. Postcard Cabins Eastern Catskills is ideally positioned to allow guests to immerse themselves in this serene landscape. The reviews highlight "gorgeous views" and a sense of being "out in nature," suggesting that the location provides a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The region is popular for outdoor activities such as hiking, exploring waterfalls, and enjoying the seasonal beauty of the Catskill Mountains, making this cabin rental a potentially excellent base for nature enthusiasts.
The features of the Postcard Cabins appear to be a significant part of their appeal. One enthusiastic reviewer specifically mentions being upgraded to a cabin with a "hammock, string lights and outdoor kitchen island," describing it as "AMAZING." This suggests that at least some of the cabins offer unique outdoor amenities designed to enhance the guest experience and allow for greater enjoyment of the natural surroundings. The presence of an outdoor kitchen island would be particularly attractive for those who enjoy cooking and dining al fresco, while a hammock and string lights contribute to a relaxing and charming outdoor ambiance.
Another frequently praised feature is the presence of "giant picture windows" in the cabins, which allow guests to fully appreciate the surrounding views from the comfort of their accommodation. In-room bathrooms with showers are also noted as a significant convenience, offering a more comfortable experience compared to traditional camping facilities. The kitchenettes, while described as "small," are considered "serviceable" for those who come prepared, suggesting that guests can handle basic meal preparation within their cabins.
While specific services are not extensively detailed, the positive review mentioning an upgrade and the granting of a request for a "cleaner cabin in a more secluded section" indicates a responsive management team that aims to address guest concerns and enhance their stay. This suggests a level of customer service that prioritizes guest satisfaction. The mention of a "total reset" implies that the cabins offer a peaceful and restorative environment conducive to relaxation.
However, a significant point of concern raised in the reviews is the increase in price following the acquisition by Marriott. Long-term repeat visitors express disappointment over the substantial rise in accommodation costs. One reviewer notes that a three-night stay that likely cost around $400 in 2022 was priced at $643 for a two-night weekend stay in 2025 (before taxes and fees). Another reviewer states that $350 per night is considered an "egregious price for a trailer in the woods," even acknowledging the positive aspects of the cabins. This suggests that while the cabins and location are well-loved, the recent price surge may make them less accessible for some local users who have enjoyed them in the past.
Despite the price concerns, the core appeal of Postcard Cabins Eastern Catskills lies in its unique blend of comfortable cabin living and immersion in the natural beauty of the Catskills. The availability of cabins with special features like outdoor kitchens and hammocks, combined with the stunning views and in-room amenities, offers a step up from traditional camping, often referred to as "glamping." The positive experiences shared by long-time visitors prior to the price increase underscore the charm and appeal of this destination.
For local users considering a stay, it's important to weigh the positive aspects of the environment and cabin features against the reported increase in cost. If the unique amenities and picturesque setting are a high priority, and the current pricing aligns with their budget, Postcard Cabins Eastern Catskills could still offer a worthwhile "camping near me" experience. The positive reviews regarding the beauty of the location and the unique cabin features remain relevant, highlighting what makes this destination special.
To get the most up-to-date information on pricing, availability, and specific cabin amenities, local users should visit the official website for Postcard Cabins Eastern Catskills (likely now integrated with Marriott Bonvoy) or contact their reservations line. It would also be prudent to check for any current promotions or packages that might be available. Reading recent reviews on various travel platforms could provide further insights into the current guest experience and pricing perceptions.
In conclusion, Postcard Cabins Eastern Catskills offers a potentially idyllic "camping near me" getaway in a beautiful part of upstate New York. The cabins boast unique features like outdoor kitchens and hammocks, along with stunning views and in-room conveniences. While the location and cabin quality have historically been highly praised, recent price increases following a Marriott acquisition are a significant factor that local users should consider. If the allure of a charming cabin in the Eastern Catskills with special amenities outweighs the higher cost, this could still be a fantastic option for a nature-filled retreat.

Postcard Cabins Eastern Catskills Reviews
I've been obsessed with these Cabins since 2018! I'm from NY so my posts are Catskills East, Catskills West and Machimoodus, CT (Sp). I've been to all 3 but my favorite location is Catskills East. However, the last 2 times that Id booked a cabin my experience was pretty unpleasant.Well, I've just returned home today from yet ANOTHER stay at my favorite cabins and this trip truly exceeded my expectations. Before I checked into my cabin on Sunday, 4/20/25, I'd left a message with management regarding my last unpleasant stay and I had requested a cleaner cabin in a more secluded section. Welllllll, upon my arrival I was pleasantly surprised to see that not only was my request granted but they upgraded me to the cabin that has the hammock, string lights and outdoor kitchen island. OMGGGGGG IT WAS AMAAAAZING ❤️🥰❤️ I was so incredibly grateful because they did NOT have to do that.If you're wondering whether or not you should book a stay, DO IT!! If you love camping, clamping, and just being out in nature then you need to go here. It's a total reset!!I will NEVER stop coming here 🥰🥰🥰 YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!
Apr 22, 2025 · Tracey ReedToo expensive after Marriott acquisition. My wife and I have been coming here 1-2x/year since Covid. It's been our favorite long weekend destination - a charming, quiet little place with gorgeous views. Since becoming owned by Marriott, the main difference seems to be the price. Judging by the Internet Archive, we likely paid $400 for a three night stay in 2022. Checking today, the cheapest two night (Fri-Sun) stay I could find was $643 before taxes+fees. This seems to be the trend with Marriott acquisitions. We absolutely loved the giant picture windows and in-room bathroom with shower. The kitchenettes are small, but serviceable if you come prepared. Overall, it's great - but $350/night is an egregious price for a trailer in the woods. This is disappointing.
Mar 07, 2025 · Christopher DollardI stayed here around 3 days and everything was great. The room was clean, there were no bugs or any issues. The room included everything important, except hair dryer, which is fine. I think the most important thing is cleanliness for me and this place has the right for 5 star. Also, their customer service was helpful, even it took a while.
Mar 04, 2025 · SapiensThis was the perfect birthday getaway—so relaxing with absolutely breathtaking views! Did I mention how peaceful it is? If you’re a nature lover, you’ll love it. Plus, the room was beautifully decorated for my birthday, which is an option when booking!
Mar 05, 2025 · TaraStayed at the Beatrice cabin with my wife from 2/4/25 - 2/6/25, which was pretty great. The 1 star comes due to the awful customer service. I left my coat behind. I filed a lost item complaint. My item was thankfully found. I paid $49.75 on 2/11/25 for 2 day shipping via fed ex. Today is 2/20/25 and my item has yet to be shipped. I made a request on the website and received a text back by a person that didn’t read my request because they asked me to file a lost item report. If they had read my request, they would have seen my lost item report ID, and that I mentioned the item was found and supposed to be shipped. After a lot of back and forth that led no where I asked to speak to a supervisor which led to the end of the text messages. All I want is my item back and postcard cabins has no one that can give me a call back.
