The room was great, very modern glamping.I wish the table would fold up, it seems many people tried it from the damage it had on the corner. There's not enough room to sit so that would be a good help.I enjoy the stay very much it's good to get away from the city. However I didn't like the business feel of charging for every little thing, made it seem they cared more about the money. I had a similar trip upstate and they gave the smores for free which was a nice welcome. The logs for fire also should be free for the price we payed. - Carlos Montoya Jr.

Postcard Cabins Western Catskills Introduce

For local users seeking a "camping near me" experience with a touch of modern comfort in the Western Catskills region of New York, Postcard Cabins, located at 26 Miller Hollow Rd, Roscoe, NY 12776, USA, presents itself as a potential option. The limited number of customer reviews available online offer a mixed perspective on what this establishment provides. While one review praises the "great" and "very modern glamping" experience, others raise concerns regarding cleanliness, amenities, and overall value. Therefore, local users should carefully consider these points when evaluating Postcard Cabins for their next local getaway.

The environment surrounding Postcard Cabins in the Western Catskills is likely a significant draw for those seeking a "camping near me" escape from the city. The Catskill Mountains are renowned for their natural beauty, characterized by rolling hills, dense forests, rivers, and scenic vistas. Roscoe, NY, often referred to as "Trout Town USA," is situated in this picturesque region, suggesting that the environment around Postcard Cabins would be conducive to outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and exploring nature. The review noting "it's good to get away from the city" supports the idea that the location offers a tranquil and natural setting. However, another review mentions that the view from the cabin was "pretty much just rocks and tree branches," indicating that the immediate surroundings from some cabins might not offer expansive scenic views. Local users who prioritize specific types of views should inquire about the location and outlook of individual cabins before booking.

In terms of services, the limited reviews provide some insights but also raise concerns. The positive review mentioning "modern glamping" suggests that the cabins are equipped with contemporary features that go beyond traditional camping, offering a more comfortable and stylish stay. This could include comfortable bedding, modern furnishings, and potentially upgraded bathroom facilities within the cabin itself. However, one review points out a potential design flaw with a table that doesn't fold up, suggesting space constraints within the cabin. This could be a consideration for local users who plan to spend significant time indoors or require more usable space.

Another crucial aspect of services relates to the overall guest experience and the feeling of value for money. One reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with a "business feel of charging for every little thing," contrasting it with other upstate experiences where amenities like s'mores and firewood were provided complimentary. This suggests that Postcard Cabins might have a policy of charging extra for certain items that some guests expect to be included in the price of their stay. Local users should inquire about any additional charges for amenities they might consider essential, such as firewood for campfires or welcome treats.

Cleanliness is another area where the reviews present a concerning picture. One guest explicitly stated that the "cabins were not cleaned" and reported killing over 10 ants inside their cabin during their stay. This raises significant questions about the housekeeping standards at Postcard Cabins. For local users who prioritize a clean and hygienic accommodation, this feedback should be taken seriously and might warrant further investigation or consideration of alternative options for "camping near me."

The functionality of the cabin facilities also appears to be an issue, with one reviewer noting that "when taking a shower prepare to flood the whole bathroom." This suggests a potential problem with the shower design or drainage in at least one of the cabins, which could lead to inconvenience and discomfort for guests. Local users should be aware of this potential issue and perhaps inquire about the bathroom facilities in their specific cabin before their stay.

The features of Postcard Cabins seem to center around the "modern glamping" concept, implying well-appointed cabins with a contemporary design aesthetic. The mention of a table, even with its design flaw, suggests that the cabins are equipped with basic furniture for dining or other activities. The provision of showers within the cabins (despite the reported flooding issue) indicates a level of convenience beyond traditional camping. However, the lack of complimentary amenities like s'mores and firewood, as mentioned by one reviewer, could be seen as a drawback by some local users who appreciate these touches as part of a camping or glamping experience.

The negative review concluding with "For the amount of $ we paid we were expecting more. Do not recommend, spend your money elsewhere" is a strong statement that should not be ignored by local users considering Postcard Cabins. It suggests that at least one guest felt the accommodation did not justify the price, citing issues with cleanliness, view, and overall value. This feedback highlights the importance of balancing the desire for a local getaway with the expectation of quality and value for money.

In terms of promotional information, Postcard Cabins likely markets itself based on its "modern glamping" experience in the scenic Western Catskills, offering a comfortable and stylish alternative to traditional camping. The proximity to nature and the promise of a relaxing escape from the city would likely be key selling points for local users. However, the negative reviews suggest that the reality might not always align with this promotional image. Therefore, local users should look beyond the marketing materials and carefully consider the feedback from previous guests.

For local users searching for "camping near me" that emphasizes a modern and comfortable stay in the Western Catskills, Postcard Cabins might initially seem appealing due to its "glamping" concept. However, the reviews indicate potential issues with cleanliness, cabin functionality (table and shower), and the feeling of being nickel-and-dimed for amenities. The discrepancy between the expectation set by the price and the actual experience reported by at least one guest is a significant concern.

Therefore, while Postcard Cabins offers a local option for those seeking a glamping experience in the Western Catskills, it is crucial for potential local users to weigh the positive mention of "modern glamping" against the negative feedback regarding cleanliness, amenities, and value. Further research, such as looking for more recent reviews on various platforms or contacting the management directly to address the concerns raised, would be advisable before making a booking. Local users might also want to compare Postcard Cabins with other "camping near me" options in the Roscoe and Western Catskills area to ensure they find an accommodation that meets their expectations for comfort, cleanliness, value, and overall experience.

In conclusion, Postcard Cabins Western Catskills in Roscoe, NY, offers a "modern glamping" experience in a potentially scenic location. However, feedback from past guests indicates potential drawbacks including issues with cleanliness, cabin functionality, and the feeling of additional charges for basic amenities, leading to concerns about overall value for money. Local users searching for "camping near me" should carefully consider these points and conduct further research to determine if Postcard Cabins aligns with their expectations for a comfortable and enjoyable local getaway in the Western Catskills.
