Lovely historic Covered Bridges and nearby Castles. They keep the public bathroom clean and restock toilet paper. A little noisy after curfew … a camper left their music on all night. Roscoe is a Very cool town great restaurants, chic clothing and vintage stores.

This is a great, relaxing place to take a break from cities! There are many things to do there ( fishing, camping, etc) and I really recommend it!

Loved it here. Campsite 77. Some of the sites are a little close together, but ours was in a great spot with nobody across from us. Our site also had a small sandy beach area instead of just rocks like most of the other waterfront spots. Apparently sites 71-75 are in high demand and have seasonal renters who come every year. Staff was friendly, the place is dog-friendly, and we had a great time. Plenty of river space to put up a chair and have a soda in the water right by your campsite if you get a water spot. Shallow all the way across this time of year. July 2020. No more than thigh-deep where we were. Walking across is easy but a little slick, duh. Great birdwatching.

I hesitate to write this review because I’m afraid I’ll have a harder time getting a reservation next time BUT this place is absolutely the most peaceful calming zen campground I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The river runs along it and the sound of the water is almost hypnotic. No power, no internet, no cell service. Just you and nature. I was there for 4 nights, left to do 8 days in the finger lakes, cut that trip in half and returned to Beaverkill because the river was calling me back. Spot 73 is the best by far. There were few people playing their music a bit louder than I’d like, and the bathrooms were a tiny bit outdated but the location and staff were just so over the top amazing it more than made up for it. I can not wait to go back.

Overall an okay experience. We went during The middle of the week so it wasn’t busy at all. Had we gone on a weekend I think our experience would have been much worse due to the fact that all campsites are very near to one another with little to no separation between them. We were at site number 32 which is near to the river, however there is no way of getting down to enjoy the river unless you want to walk through very dense bushes and plants. A few campsites down from us looked like they had nicer and easier access to the river and the sites were also a little bigger and more secluded. Our site was really small, we almost couldn’t find a spot to put our tent that was far enough away from the fire pit and flat, and there was really no appeal for us to stay and hang out at the campsite, which is something I normally love doing. There is running water and the bathrooms were basic but in pretty good condition. Showers are in a separate building and I think you had to pay for hot water for showers which we didn’t bother with. The swimming area is decent with beautifully clean water, a mostly rocky shore and one area of the river that goes deeper so is nicer for swimming (otherwise it’s pretty shallow). We went on a little hike along the river near the shower building and the area is beautiful! We kept saying it’s a shame there weren’t campsites in this area because it felt more secluded and like you were “in nature“. The employee who checked us in was personable and pointed us in the direction of good firewood that we could find at the campgrounds for free. I’m giving two stars because I really value a campsite with more privacy and the feeling of really being in nature, and I really don’t enjoy campsites where it is more like a large lot that has been cleared out and you are 10 feet away from your neighbor.
