Are you seeking a wonderful and clean camping experience near you, surrounded by nature and offering access to the pristine waters of Priest Lake? Reeder Bay Campground, located at 2606 Reeder Bay Rd, Nordman, ID 83848, USA, might be the perfect destination. Situated in a beautiful country setting with awesome lake views, this campground is praised for its cleanliness, abundance of trees, and well-spaced campsites. While it offers a more rustic camping experience with no hookups, showers, dump station, or RV water, its natural beauty and convenient lake access make it a highly recommended spot for those looking to reconnect with nature.
The environment surrounding Reeder Bay Campground is frequently described as wonderful and beautiful. One of its key characteristics is the presence of "lots of trees," which suggests a shaded and scenic setting, enhancing the overall camping experience and providing a sense of being immersed in nature. Many of the campsites reportedly have trails leading directly to Priest Lake, offering easy and convenient access to the water for swimming, fishing, and enjoying the lake views. The campground is also noted for its cleanliness, contributing to a pleasant and comfortable stay. The terrain is described as nicely paved, which is a significant advantage for activities like riding bikes within the campground. Furthermore, the campsites are "well spaced," providing a good degree of privacy between camping parties, allowing for a more secluded and relaxing experience. The combination of the natural beauty of the Priest Lake area, the shade provided by the numerous trees, the cleanliness of the campground, and the thoughtful spacing of the sites creates an appealing environment for a variety of campers.
Reeder Bay Campground offers a range of services aimed at providing a comfortable and organized camping experience, albeit without utility hookups or extensive facilities. The availability of "great sites" suggests that the individual camping areas are well-maintained and thoughtfully laid out. Each campsite likely includes basic amenities such as a picnic table and a fire pit (though not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, these are common in similar campgrounds). A significant convenience noted by a reviewer is the presence of "several spots to park extra cars," which can be particularly useful for groups or families traveling with multiple vehicles. While one reviewer mentioned they didn't use the campground restrooms due to being in an RV, the fact that they were mentioned implies that restroom facilities are available for tent campers. However, the reviews explicitly state that there are "no hookups, no showers, no dump station or RV water" available at the campground. This indicates that Reeder Bay Campground is best suited for tent campers or RVers who are self-contained and do not require these amenities. The ability to book online is also highlighted as a simple and convenient service, streamlining the reservation process. The paved roads within the campground are a notable feature, making it easy to navigate and enjoyable for bike riding.
Several features make Reeder Bay Campground a desirable camping destination. The direct or very short trail access from many campsites to Priest Lake is a major draw, allowing campers to easily enjoy the lake's beauty and recreational opportunities. The well-spaced campsites that afford privacy are another significant feature, enhancing the feeling of being in nature and away from crowds. The abundance of trees provides shade and contributes to the overall aesthetic appeal of the campground. The paved roads within the campground are a unique feature that adds to the convenience and enjoyment, particularly for families with children who might want to ride bikes. The online booking system simplifies the process of securing a campsite. While the lack of hookups and extensive facilities might be a limitation for some, it underscores the campground's focus on a more traditional and nature-oriented camping experience. The positive reviews, with one visitor stating they would "make another visit," speak to the overall quality and appeal of Reeder Bay Campground for those seeking a clean and scenic lakeside camping option.

Reeder Bay Campground Reviews
Wonderful campground! Clean, lots of trees, great sites. A lot of the campsites have trails to Priest Lake. Several spots to park extra cars. Unfortunately we didn't use the campground restrooms since we were in an RV. It was all nicely paved, great for riding bikes on. We booked online, which made things very simple. Overall a great place, we'll make another visit.
Jun 17, 2024 · Stephanie SilverthornBeautiful country with awesome lake views. Access is just a short walk down a trail to a small beach area.Sites are well spaced which allow for privacy. No hookups, no showers, no dump station or RV water.
Jul 02, 2020 · Randy NicholsThe fire pits are a bit too close to the tables, so unfortunately be wary about using a canopy there. Otherwise, one of the best campgrounds on the lake! Not to mention the Five Star restrooms! Hosts were excellent and kept everything neat and tidy. Good job, hosts! And Thank You!The weather wasn't ideal, but I'd gladly come back to Reeder Bay anytime!
Jul 17, 2019 · Howabout NotachanceGreat camping. Nice location with beautiful beach. Go in the fall before they close after all the people from out of state go home.
Oct 25, 2019 · Tony StagnerI have been camping at this beautiful campground for 20 years and it's been perfect until yesterday. We are in one of the worst fire zones in the northwest and there is a total fire ban. A group of people decided to put many, many lives at stake and have a fire anyway. The camp hosts were asked numerous times to PLEASE take action but they refused. We then decided to leave early and not endanger the kids and doggies. While passing thru Priest Lake, I came across across a Deputy Sheriff and explained our dilemma. He was very helpful and called the appropriate department who in turn will visit the campground and educate the unbelievably self-centered idiots in spot #22, who are from Washington and hopefully getting a very large fine.
