Let's delve into the environment, services, and features based on recent customer reviews to help you plan your next camping adventure.
The environment surrounding Scott Creek Campground is largely defined by its proximity to Hillsdale Lake, offering scenic water views and opportunities for various lakeside activities. While one reviewer mentioned preferring the views at nearby Pintail Point, they still ranked the scenery at Scott Creek as a "very close second," indicating an appealing natural setting. A significant environmental advantage highlighted is that this part of Hillsdale Lake is the "absolute calmest," making it ideal for kayaking enthusiasts. The campground itself is described as "very well graded" with "sites are grassy and large," suggesting a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing camping environment. Some campsites even offer direct "access to the water," providing an enhanced connection with the lake. The presence of a "nice playground" indicates a family-friendly atmosphere with dedicated space for children to play. While one reviewer noted that the "beach area" was "just ok" and in need of more maintenance, with "a lot of trash on the ground and picnic tables are in poor condition," this seems to be a separate area from the main campground and RV sites, and its condition should be considered distinct from the generally positive reviews of the camping facilities. Overall, the environment at Scott Creek Campground offers a blend of lakeside beauty and well-maintained camping areas.
Scott Creek Campground offers a range of services and amenities aimed at providing a comfortable and convenient camping experience. A notable feature is that "All sites have water and 50/30 amp" electrical hookups, making it well-equipped for RV campers. The availability of "four large showers" is a significant convenience, especially for longer stays and for tent campers who may not have onboard facilities. The positive feedback from RV campers who have stayed twice and were "very satisfied" with their experience underscores the quality of the RV sites, which are described as "very spacious and well maintained." While one reviewer with a self-contained RV didn't use the free-standing bathroom, their observation that bathrooms in other nearby campgrounds looked "pretty run down" suggests that Scott Creek Campground maintains its facilities to a higher standard, at least in the RV area. The presence of a "nice playground" caters to families with children, providing a dedicated recreational area within the campground. The campground is also noted as being "Great for families and group camping," implying that it can accommodate larger parties and offers a welcoming environment for diverse camping groups. The lack of sewer hookups at the RV sites is mentioned indirectly, which is a common feature in many campgrounds and something RVers should be aware of.

Scott Creek Campground Reviews
We prefer the views at Pintail Point, but this is a very close second. For kayaking, this is the absolute calmest part of Hillsdale. The campground is very well graded, sites are grassy and large, there is a nice playground and four large showers. Some sites have access to the water. Great for families and group camping. Mixture of tents and RVs. All sites have water and 50/30 amp.
Sep 16, 2024 · Baba FletchWe have stayed in the RV part twice so far. We really have enjoyed both our visits. The RV sites are very spacious and we'll maintained. Very satisfied with our RV experience. I will say our RV is self contained so we did not need a free standing bathroom. I did notice in the other camp grounds down from us that they did not have sewer hook ups and the bathroom was pretty run down looking, so very thankful we didn't stay over there. We did go down to the beach area once and it's just ok. Need more maintain in that area. Noted a lot of trash on the ground and picnic tables are in poor condition. It could be a very nice area if it was properly kept up.
Aug 16, 2018 · Sonya LevertonLike other reviewers, the lack of showers & flush toilets is a drawback. If your camper is self contained, then it's a non issue. The toilet offers no privacy but it's not like you want to spend any extra time in there. We liked the proximity to the marina and there is a decent amount of shade. We will definitely be back.
Jun 11, 2018 · Jeff BoltonTom is grumpy. He's a liar. Just respectful. He leaves next to the office.Looks like a trash dump around this camper. I love the campground , but I will never come back because tom's attitude proble
Feb 02, 2025 · Mick ColemanWorking in the area. Have a 26' rv. Wanted a quiet, dog friendly, and not too cramped campground. This was perfect! Very clean and very quiet!! The lake is beautiful! My bf loves fishing, and this fits the bill. Can't beat the $23 a night for electric and water hookups. Very easy and quick drive to dump sewer. They have a marina where pontoon and fishing boats can be rented. We explored the area and fished from the shoreline. Hiking trails were great for our fur baby, which she enjoyed. Dogs must be keeped on a leash. Playground was clean and looked like the kids were enjoying it. A must visit!
